Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough on DWTS
Chuck Wicks is paired with Julianne Hough will be on Dancing with the Stars 8. The most star power that could probably exist in a pair. Kind of crazy to think that Julianne might have more star power than Chuck does. However, Chuck at least has more hit songs than Julianne (for now).
I met Chuck at the finale of last season’s Dancing with the Stars and he was one of the most kind and easy to talk to people I’ve met. He’s as down to earth as any star I’ve seen. In fact, it was a nice breathe of fresh air compared to many of the other stars I met. Not that anything was bad or wrong with the stars we met, but Chuck was just relaxed and really put my wife and I at ease. Not sure how this helps him on the show, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Chuck does have faithful country fans. I think country fans are probably the best fan voters out there. Chuck has a slender frame and Julianne should really bring the most out of it. [Country] Fans will also love any “love” songs or sensual songs that can show off Julianne and Chuck’s true feelings for each other. We all want the 2 little love birds to live happily ever after.
Julianne is beautiful, a great choreographer, a bubbly personality, and a star in her own right. There’s no doubt she’s the most popular professional in the list. It’s no wonder why she was on every entertainment show leading up to last season. She’s the media darling and in many ways the image of DWTS. Anyway, she’s definitely a power house on the show and Chuck will really benefit from her expertise and fan power.
I’m predicting a final 3 from Julianne and Chuck. Chuck will have a rough week or two, but in the end will be really polished and the pair will have 2-3 of the most memorable dances in DWTS history.
No offense, but you seem to be in the minority about wanting Julianne to end up with Chuck. This write up about them was quite over the top don’t you think? Why do the viewers have to be subjected to their “true feelings” for one another? They’re on a show together(unfairly I might add), to dance, not to show off their relationship. This fan and a lot of others aren’t going to love watching them dance to love songs week after week, if they last that long.
From what I’ve read, what most people see is a 30 year old guy hooked up with a 20 year old “brighter star” (which is gross enough), for the publicity factor involved. Can’t imagine her parents are thrilled about this.
I never said I want Julianne to end up with Chuck. I don’t really care. It’s there lives, not mine. I’m fine either way.
I can’t say I necessarily disagree that it’s unfair that their on the show together. However, the show never makes claims that the competition is fair. It’s not fair and never will be. It will always be about getting as many people to watch the show as possible.
On second thought, you’re right that many fans still want Julianne and Apolo to be together and they won’t be happy. However, I think that most Country fans and other moderate fans of Julianne on the show will still enjoy them dancing to love songs each week.
I don’t think most people even know how old each one is. Chuck looks pretty young and so I don’t think the majority of people will care. Not to mention the age thing has really been downplayed with so many stars doing it.
From everything I’ve seen, her parents seem to enjoy Chuck and Julianne together.
The best part of all this, is that soon we’ll know how well the both do on the show.
Well in your post, you did say “we all” want the lovebirds to live happily ever after. I assumed that you are included in the “we”.
Also, this situation has nothing to do with Apolo. I don’t know why people keep bringing him into this since this isn’t about him. This is about Julianne and Chuck and with all the information they have put out to the media about their relationship, everyone knows how old they both are and have commented on it all over the place. I’m surprised that Julianne’s parents are ok with her being with someone who is 10 years older than her and jumps from relationship to relationship when he gets bored. I figure Julianne will not be the exception to this rule either.
I think you said it best when you said that Julianne is the bigger star which is something else that makes this an unfair team on the show. Chuck’s biggest claim to fame right now is that he is Mr. Julianne Hough and that one hit song that he wrote for his ex that he cheated on in order to hookup with a teenager. Not really something to boast about.
Kate,
People keep bringing it up, because it still is about him for many people.
Should be interesting to see how they do on the show.
All these comments do not make much sense to me and unfortunately if you are not familiar with ballroom dancing and all the aspects of each individual dance or how a competition is run , you would not understand. Also ABC asked Chuck, then Julianne to dance together. As far as their age, there is nothing wrong with the difference. He is 29 and she is 20. You grow up fast in the dance and entertainment world and Julianne is one of the best and most trained. There will not be love songs each week and they compliment each other, work hard and well together. As a former competitor myself, I th ink they are terrific dancers and will get even better, as well as, their singing careers. Chuck is a funny, sincere, charming, and can show good sportmanship. They are a top favorite for me.
I respectfully disagree with you Margie…the age difference is a big deal, especially when he dumped his former girlfriend for a younger version to gain publicity. Imagine if it was your daughter bringing this guy home…As for their dancing, I didn’t see any chemistry, there were too many PDA’s and Julianne wasn’t anywhere near as hard on him as she should have been in rehersals. Julianne is a great dancer but she could have done better, then again she’s dancing with Chuck so not all of it is her fault. She can only work with what she’s given. I felt that they were overscored.
Clearly you do not like Chuck Wicks. Professionals can figure out what type of routine is best suited for their partner, and how much they can challenge them initially. We do not see the whole day of practice and they were still on tour before the show. For a guy he did a great job and should get better with the nervousness. He was very smooth especially with his pivets. After about 3 or 4 showcases initially I was at great ease. He is a nice guy and nice as can be with Julianne. Sometimes things happen and they said they had the feeling
they were going to fall in love. If I had a daughter I would prefer she go out with him than someone 10 years younger. She has been in the dance world (as I said) for many years. As they said, Shawn Johnson will being growing up fast. Wait till the latin routines!
Mark Ballas is excellent, though. I hope you might like Chuck and Julianne’s next dance but I’m guessing you won’t. Who is your favorite?
Hey Kate,
Why are you commenting on a fan site for Julianne when you clearly do not like her or Chuck? I don’t get why people go on fan sites to bash instead of support them. They did a great job on the show and they seem to be having a ball. Lighten up.
Jules Fan,
This isn’t a Julianne fan site, but a Dancing with the Stars fan site. So, Kate is more than welcome to share her opinion about why she and others don’t like Julianne and Chuck. She’s been respectful in her comments and so as long as long as it stays that way, then her comments will be welcomed. That’s true for anyone commenting. I just delete anything that’s spam, offensive, or anything else I feel is inappropriate.
I do agree that Jules and Chuck are having a great time and I don’t see any problem with their relationship. Obviously Kate doesn’t agree with us.
No I don’t like Chuck Wicks and that’s my perogative just like it is for those who like him. I do like Julianne though and it bothers me that she’s hooked up with someone who clearly doesn’t respect her based on his comments all over the internet about her and their relationship. If this is what she wants in a man good luck to her. I’m concerned for her, so please don’t tell me to lighten up.
What comments has Chuck Wicks made about Julianne…all over the internet? I’ve only heard the nicest things.
DWTS view: Julianne is definitely my favorite pro dancer on this show. I think they could do much more better and that her getting her boyfriend is a disadvantage. This is all because she doesn’t push him hard enough as she has had with all her other partners. All her other partners have improved so much without complaining, and in one episode, I remember Chuck was complaining by the way she was teaching him. This softened her up and made her not be able to push him as hard as she could.
Couple View: It seems like Chuck loves Julianne more than she loves her. I don’t think they are both “in love.” I think Julianne is dating Chuck so she can start off being known as a “country” singer having a country singer boyfriend because she states how she wants to be known as a country singer who can dance rather than a dancer who can sing, and this is the way to make that more noticeable.
DWTS Fan,
I don’t think it’s fair to say that Julianne specifically started dating Chuck for the benefits to her singing career. I’ve seen them together and they really do enjoy each other’s company. I’m not saying that I think they’re going to get married. That part I don’t know. Although, I think it’s fair for someone to think that they might just be having a good time together and enjoying each other’s friendship and the benefits to the singing career as opposed to thinking that they’ve found true love. Sounds reasonable to me. Time will have to tell on that one.
I agree that it must be hard for Julianne to be a great teacher to her boyfriend.
John,
I do see your point there. I think they look really good together, but I don’t think they are entirely in love. Well as I said before, I believe Chuck is, but I don’t think Julianne is in love. That’s just the way I see it. I don’t see any chemistry between them, they just seem like a “high school couple.”
Fair enough. It’s a reasonable view of it all.
Nothing wrong with them being a nice “high school couple” in my book. Julianne is still really young and is certainly entitled to enjoy experiences like that if that’s what she wants to do.
