Dancing with the Stars is always doing some interesting videos on the results show. Week 8 of Dancing with the Stars was probably the best that they’ve ever done. Check out the following video of “People for the Ethical Treatment of Dancers.” (A nice take off of Peta with naked pro dancers)
Tonight was quite the shocker for me. I was certain that Melissa Rycroft would be going home. I guess I seriously underestimated the number of fans that are sympathetic to Melissa. Add in the injury and Melissa really must have garnered a ton of sympathy votes.
Don’t get me wrong. Melissa is a wonderful dancer and I don’t like anyone getting sent home due to injury, but I really thought that Julianne and Chuck would have gotten more votes. Hard to believe that Ty and Chelsie is possibly more popular than Chuck and Julianne. Pretty amazing stuff.
Well, as usual here’s the list of Dancing with the Stars music from the week 8 results show:
Robin Thicke sang the song “When I Get You Alone” for Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska, Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani, Kym Johnson, and Dmitry Chaplin’s professional dance performance.
Robin Thicke sang the song “Sidestep” to special guest professional dancers Pasha Kovalev and Anya Garnis (of So You Think You Can Dance fame)
Professional Dancer Competition (future Dancing with the Star professional)
Genya Mazo & Afton DelGrosso danced a Quickstep
Mayo Alanen & Anna Demidova danced a Jive
Brent Borbon and Snow Urbin were knocked out of the competition to be the next professional on Dancing with the Stars.
Another wonderful selection of music and dances. Plus, Team Mambo went up against Team Tango. Turns out that was also Beyonce up against Britney Spears. Easy to say that Beyonce would easily win that battle. The following is the music from tonight’s show or check out all the previous Dancing with the Stars 2009 music.
Gilles & Cheryl danced a Lindy Hop to the song “Go Daddy-O”—Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Lil’ Kim & Derek danced a Paso Doble to the song “El gato montes”—Manuel Penella
Chuck & Julianne danced a Cha-Cha-Cha to the song “I’m Outta Love”—Anastacia
Shawn & Mark danced a Samba to the song “Get Down On It”—Kool and the Gang
Melissa & Tony danced a Jive to the song “We Got the Beat”—The Go-Go’s
Ty & Chelsie danced a Salsa to the song “Vehicle”—The Ides of March
Shawn & Mark, Lacey & Tony, and Chuck & Julianne danced as Team Mambo to the song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”—Beyoncé
Lil’ Kim & Derek, Gilles & Cheryl, and Ty & Chelsie danced as Team Tango to the song “Womanizer”—Britney Spears
InFANity is a show on the TV Guide channel that I’d never heard of before – but this week they delve into Dancing with the Stars. The video is in five parts, each part covering different aspects of the show. Every part has a lot of clips of dances and interviews, past and present. Stars from every season are interviewed, as are the judges and the hosts. The only people we see, but don’t hear a lot from, are my favorites – The Pros.
Part 1 – About the Show and the Judges
Part 2 – The Stars and The Winners
I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
Part 3 – The Pros and the Hookups
Part 4 – The Injuries and….Bruno

The fifth and final part is all about the costuming, and the host learns the Cha Cha with Tony Dovolani.

Derek directs a music video set to the Ballas Hough Band’s song Do You Love Me. The video stars many of the celebrities and professional dancers from this seasons DWTS, in addition to brief appearances by Tom Bergeron, Samantha Harris, Shannon Elizabeth, Joanna Pacitti, Rascal Flatts and Boyz II Men.
