An Emmy for Dancing with the Star’s Tom Bergeron??
Nominations come out on Thursday and MSNBC’s Test Pattern (by Gael Cooper) thinks Tom’s time has come. And you know what? So do I. Tom does a great job every season, very fast on his feet and always getting in a great shot or three. ๐ With Bruno as one of the judges, he has his work cut out for him at times making sure that everything moves smoothly and, as Gael points out, family friendly. Call Lil’ Kim a tramp? Saying that Kim is alive and well in Gilles pants? How about when Len pulls out one of his veddy British euphemisms? Spotted Dick anyone?ย
Tom is hilarious – give the man an Emmy already.ย ๐ย ย Do you have a favorite Tom funny?? Tell us.
I have to disagree with you on this one Heidi. Tom is great. This is true. However, Cat Deeley on So You Think You Can Dance is off the charts sensational. She’s had so many amazing little moments.
Careful John, your own bias is showing. ๐ I let mine hang out all the time, so it’s obvious, but I know you love the hair and the long legs and the cute accent. ๐ I don’t want to hear any more about my Derek-love from you, mister.
Cat is great, but I don’t see her doing nearly the work that Tom does; and if Tom can’t win, then it should certainly be Probst or Phil (TAR) – heck, even Seacrest who bugs the livin’ youknowwhat out of me, should win before Cat does. Jeff and Phil are the cornerstones of their show – I hesitate to give that label to either Seacrest or Tom, but the impact would be large if they left. I’m just not sure that’s AS TRUE for Cat.
Are you kidding me?
Ok, yes, I’ll admit that I love her long legs, blonde hair and wonderful accent. However, isn’t that part of what a host is all about? In that part of the competition none of the other reality TV hosts can even think to compete. It’s not even close. So, now that it’s clear that Cat wins in the very important looks department, let’s talk about the rest of a host’s job.
Cat is incredibly whitty. She joins in with the dancers at just the right moments. She has the perfect balance of affection for the dancers and respect for the judges. Watch any of the other SYTYCD (Canada, Australia, etc) and you’ll notice the amazing difference between what Cat does and what others aren’t able to do.
Like I said, Tom is great, but this year actually wasn’t his best performance on the show. He had a couple nice moments, but wasn’t as polished as seasons before this one.
Jeff Probst actually does do a great job on Survivor. I’ll give him credit for that. The show wouldn’t be quite the same without him and his questions and comments. However, it seems like that’s more an award for the body of work he’s done as opposed to just this season.
Phil is nice, but I’m sure I’d still LOVE TAR even if he was gone. He’s like the cherry on top. Makes it look special, but isn’t really needed to enjoy the rest.
It looks like Julianne and Chuck are now playing house based on this tweet from their realtor’s daughter. This was posted on Sunday by http://www.twitter.com/PeaceLoveKenzie
@juliannehough hey! this is random… but my mom sold u and chuck ur house :] lol

Is this tweet true?
It must be true. It’s being reported here too –
http://www.countrymusictattletale.com/2009/07/did-julianne-and-chuck-buy-a-house/
Well, that person simply picked up on the twitter and claimed another source which may or may not exist. So, we don’t really know that it’s true. I live in Nashville and I haven’t heard a peep about it – which also doesn’t mean anything, but all the country stuff (especially peeps buying houses) usually is over-reported here. Let me tell ya. ๐
Of course, I’m also assuming Nashville – but I think that’s reasonable since she currently lives here, as do her mom and at least one sister.
Thanks for the comment Heidi. I’ve lurked here for awhile, but never posted. You do a great job around here.
I have to say that I’m a little surprised that she’d be buying a home with her boyfriend before marriage. She never struck me as that type of girl.
Why thanks!! ๐
Yeah we were just talking about that here at my office – surprise that she would do that. One of my co-workers has seen her and Chuck out and about – I told him and we were both surprised, mainly because of what she has said in the past about waiting. But I guess everyone changes their mind about things as they get older.
Truth be told Heidi, I was actually hoping that she and Apolo Ohno would find their way back to each other someday. Their chemistry was magical.
I guess it simply wasn’t meant to be – sigh.
You aren’t alone Dave. I watched Apolo & Julianne during DWTS 4 and would have liked to see them end up together. They seemed so compatible in every way.
You said it best though: it simply wasnโt meant to be.
Ya know, Dave, it’s the Apollo/Julianne pairing that got me into DWTS to begin with. Loads of chemistry there, but then in watching their packages and interviews it didn’t seem to be there. Good acting? Who knows. Julianne cemented me watching DWTS with Helio the next season – again, great chemistry. Then I noticed her brother. ๐ Interestingly, she seemed to have the least natural chemistry with her real-life boyfriend. Strange – but it happens in TV all the time.
[…] last, but certainly not least, my prediction/wish/prognostication begins to bear out. Tom Bergeron is nominated for host, as is Phil Keogan from […]
