DWTS Season 9 – Other Rumors Confirmed?
Rumors about the new rules for this season have been floating around for a while now, but it appears that Cheryl Burke may have confirmed a few to E! News’ Marc Malkin the other night:
“There’s a rule now that we’re not allowed to train for more than five hours a day for the first two weeks,” professional hoofer Cheryl Burke told me last night at the Anna Faris-hosted Malibu-Reef Check event in Beverly Hills.
And there’s more…
“After every two hours, you have to have a 30-minute break,” Burke said. “And we have to have one full day off a week.”
Sounds pretty reasonable to me. When I first heard this one I was afraid it was for the entire season. The first two weeks sounds better – some people just need more time!
it’s funny ,this was actually Shawn’s training time from last season ,5 hours a day and one day off(becouse of her age), so since she won and was the only one in the final without a injure ,it proves that works (but of course she is a atlete ,she can do good with less time, not sure about normal people)
Considering all the past DWTS Injuries this makes sense that they would limit the practice time. I hate when your favorite gets injured and can’t be on the show.
The Quality of the training is just as important as the Quantity. Professional athletes, or even amateur athletes, will know how to get more out of their training. It is habitual. I would also say the same for some of the singer/dancers, i.e. Lil Kim had a very hectic schedule even without DWTS. Yet, it boils down to who really wants to be there. Without naming names, there are some who get involved but are just not driven enough to succeed. That does not make them bad people. It is just not for everyone.
