What dance are you most excited to see on DWTS?
Time for a new poll! Today I want to know what dance you are most looking forward too. I know, I know! You can’t pick just one…but I’m gonna make you! I want you to tell me your absolute favorite. Now I’ve only put 10 dances on here so your favorite might not be on here but feel free to tell me you and if you want to tell me your second, third, fourth (and so on) favorites…leave me a comment or tweet me (@sunshine5220) I’m looking foward to hearing what you think!
Oh! In case you were wondering about the results from the last DWTS past winners poll, Shawn and Mark are in the lead at 29% and Brooke and Derek are at 24%. That poll is still open as well if you want to vote on that too.
Paso Doble all the way, preferrably choreographed by Derek and/or Cheryl. 🙂
Paso Doble all the way too, best dance ever
my top 5 favorite pasos are (no orden because i can’t choice one favorite)
Julianne and Apolo (the first paso that make me love this dance so much)
All tree Mark pasos with Sabrina,Kristi and Shawn (shame on Len for giving Shawn and Kristi a 9)
Derek and Jennie (so underscored, carrie giving a 8 was just wrong, Jennie was on fire that night)
Team paso was really cool too.
I don’t like cheryl so i never care about her pasos, but I do like her first paso with Gilles but don’t see the hype about triller and her paso with Cristian was just bad for me.
A lot of people say that Maks and Mel have the best paso ever but even after watch 100 times i still don’t see why ,is good but not the best in my personal opinion (the second one i didn’t like at all).
I took Rhumba, especially if it involved Edyta.
I personally wish that if they’re are going to keep doing Argentinean Tango that they get pros who actually know how to dance it and dance it correct. Same with Salsa and Lindy. It bothers me to no end, especially Lindy.
Amen, Karina! Although most of the pros have some background in the traditionally more “social” dances (odds are if they’ve ever taught professionally, they know at least a little salsa, west coast swing, hustle, Lindy, & sometimes two-step), I find that most professionals aren’t very proficient at Argentine – my bf, who has been teaching for 7 years, is just now learning it! The only one of the DWTS pros that seems to have a decent background in it is Corky – he actually has a pretty good instructional tape on beginning & intermediate AT. But standard tango also borrows a lot of steps from Argentine, so it’s not a completely foreign territory for most of them.
Now the real bone I have to pick is with Cheryl’s salsa – her partner when she was competing as a pro was Jose DeCamps, quite possibly one of the best salsa dancers (and teachers!) I’ve ever seen. Having someone as proficient as Jose around, you would think a bit of it would have rubbed off on Cheryl – er, not so much. Definitely not a fan of her salsa with Maurice, and her salsa with Gilles was only slightly better.
i don’t really know a lot about dancing(only samba because i’m brazilian), but the Argentine tango from last season even if was not done right look really good, it was by far the best dance of the season, all four (lil kim, shawn, melissa and gilles) did great on this dance.
I don’t know how the judges give a 30 for gilles salsa ,that was not a salsa at all, gilles did a really good job shaking his button the dance but that was the only thing that he did on that dance.
Since we are talking about dances ,i do know a few things about samba and i have to say that the samba on dwts is nothing like the original Brazilian samba, there is only one samba on tv that look a little bit like the brazilian samba( was on sytycd, last season Kayla and Max ,choreographed by Louis, the song was very brazilian samba)
I would prefer they keep the pros they have and stop adding the non-traditional dances. 🙂 Particularly really stupid ones like the two step.
Courtney, I’m not a huge fan of Jose’s then again, not a fan of salsa in general.
I learned East Coast then Lindy first and what they did on the show is no where near what Lindy and even to an extant East Coast is.
Amen Heidi! And I wish they’d ask some of the older pros back like Nick, or Elena (and if they ask Elena back, give her a good partner, she had horrible experiences the first two times).
Phillipe, of course not. Ballroom dances have evolved since their “original” dances. I mean look at Tango! Tango was originally danced between two men! And Women were specifically barred form dancing the dance. Even Lindy doesn’t look a lot like what it started out as (a dance to make fun of White upper class people ;)).
