Dancing with the Stars Season 9 Lists

For those of you that have just found Pure Dancing with the Stars or took a break in between seasons, I want to point out to you some of the great stuff we’ve been working on during the off season. Heidi’s been rocking the Dancing with the Stars Season 9 cast announcement and other Dancing with the Stars rumors. It’s been pretty amazing how well Heidi was at finding out all the information before anything was even announced.

Tonight is the premiere of Dancing with the Stars season 9. So, it’s time to get a feel for which stars are the most popular. Vote in the following poll for who you think will be the Dancing with the Stars season 9 winner.

DWTS at the Emmy’s

Maks and Karina were on the Emmy’s last night and they were amazing. Apparently NappyTab from SYTYCD choreographed and I recognized some so the other dancers from SYTYCD as well. Cat Deely (SYTYCD host) was also on hand to give out an award. Sadly, Tom Bergeron lost to Jeff Probst as best reality host.

P.S. It’s MONDAY!! Season 9 is finally here!!!

ABC Interview Videos

Courtesy of TV Grapevine. These are the same videos (with bio page) I uploaded the other day for Macy et al, but different couples. I believe they are in the process of uploading all of them. I’ve included a few, below. The TV Grapevine site is kinda hard to figure out (for me anyway) so this link takes you to Natalie, but the others are listed on the left hand side. This LINK takes you to the list of celebs they have bios for so far – which doesn’t seem to match the video list, even though the videos are also embedded there. Make sense? Yeah, me either.

ETA: I almost forgot to blow my own horn. I was correct – the male pros are doing a pro dance on Monday night, the female pros a pro dance on Tuesday night – the reverse of when they dance with their partners. This is per Louis Van Amstel. Should be very interesting.

Maybe it’s just me, but Ashley and Natalie seem kinda…boring? Maybe it’s Alec and Edyta? I dunno something seems strange there. Or maybe everyone suffers in comparison to Mark Dacascos and Lacey.

Seattle Times on DWTS Season 9

I point out this article in The Seattle Times in particular because I found what they had to say about the teams rather amusing. Here are a few excerpts:

Gather ’round, fellow “Dancing with the Stars” fans, and let us mourn: Gilles Marini is no longer on the show, and none of the new contestants are slinky Frenchmen.

Regardless, everyone’s favorite guilty-pleasure, ballroom-dancing-with-the-C-list reality show is back, to steal our Monday nights and remind us of some of the great mysteries of life: namely, sequined pants, orange spray-tans and Samantha Harris.

Aaron Carter

Who? 21-year-old pop singer, Backstreet Boy relative (brother to Nick Carter) and former reality-show participant (“House of Carters”).

Any hope? Sure; pop singers generally know how to move.

Partner: The fabulously named Karina Smirnoff, in her seventh season.

Ashley Hamilton

Who? Actor/musician, but better known for being George Hamilton’s son and Shannen Doherty’s momentary husband.

Any hope? Let’s hope he does better than his famously tan father did on the show (in Season 2).

Partner: The marvelously slinky and frequently near-naked Edyta Sliwinska.

My personal favorite –

Joanna Krupa

Who? Model, best known for one of those “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” PETA campaigns.

Any hope? Um, who?

Partner: Hold the phone — she’s dancing with the marvelous Derek Hough.

Tom, Aaron and Macy (!) Interview Clips

Wow, I feel like I hit the motherlode without a shovel (geologist humor). MovieWeb has a whole bunch of short interview clips with the aforementioned stars. Macy, in particular, was cracking me up as was Jonathan. Check them out. I would have embedded them here, but I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me.

New DWTS Rehearsal Videos from ABC (Part IV)

ABC added some more. First up, Chelsie and Louie. Um…Chelsie is a brave woman.

One of this seasons Ringers – Mya and Dmitry. Comments on this youtube mention that they took *lessons* from Mya. Ooookay.

Macy and Jonathan. And that’s all I’m going to say about that. Okay – I lied. Macy is really what the show is about. Teaching someone with no clue how to dance, to dance. (psstt – Macy – butt IN).
