Uh! You need to also consider the gruff you’ll take from me too, not just Heidi.

Okay, so I agree, it wasn’t the best samba in the world, but it was good. Certainly the 23 they earned, if not worth a 24. And some of us liked the rope. It said, “Me man! I’m rough, and I’m tough, and I’m Derek Hough.” LOL

I so hope to god it’s true. As I said on my blog last night, I partly blame Cheryl and the producers for not forcing this. Stress fractures are horrible notoriously hard to heal (I should know… I had several) and if he doesn’t deal with it with rest and no pressure on it, he could have problems for the rest of his life. The producers should have forced him to leave once his doctor told him he shouldn’t be dancing. It bothers me that the producers/DWTS is allowing these “athletes” to continue when they’re injured. It sets precedent which shouldn’t be sent. If you have an injury that makes a doctor say quit doing it, you should listen.

Look at Carly Patterson (won 2004 Olympic Gold Medal in the Gymnastics all around). She up and retired at the end of the year and everybody called her a quitter. Turns out her doctor told her that if she ever wanted to walk again she should quit gymnastics. She had a stress fracture in her back.

i am not happy w ith this seasons dancing with the stars..too many of the stars are dancers and too experienced which makes it hard to fairly judge the neophytes….i liked the show much more when i saw the development of people that learned how to dance without having a background in the dance..they to me were like everyday people and inspired me to also try dancing instead of sitting and watching others…many of my friends feel as i do..quit picking people who in actuality are dancers…

Um, Edee, could you explain this? “too many of the stars are dancers”… Only one of the stars is mostly really considered a dancer and that is Mya…

I was wondering about the “too many of the stars are dancers” comment, as well. For those fans who are dancers, it is easy to see that this season the quality of dance execution is down. It could just be that the lack of that extra week of pre-season practice has caused this. Ballroom and Latin are a different animal from the type of dancing that Mya has done. Granted, dancing experience “helps” you feel the music better, but you still have to learn an entirely different style of execution. I think all the celebs are at the mercy of their pros to teach them what to do, and it seems they’ve all struggled to do that this season. JMO

donamadrina I so agree! Mya’s even said, that even though she’s had this huge tap experience it hasn’t helped a lick in this, only that she understands choreography.
