   MAKS is dancing with joanna monday. derek is still very sick. i’m not sure if things have gotten worse for mark, who is trying to fight on through being sick as well.

   You have a source for that info? Because Derek just tweeted that he was outside for the first time in three days – sounds like he’s getting better to me. Also made me wonder if he was going to see group rehearsal which is what is going on about now. And Joanna tweeted that it’s still up in the air as to who she’s dancing with.

   Mark has not been as sick as Derek – he was out walking the red carpet the other night at an event with Joanna. I think he had a bad cold, whereas Derek had the flu. Of course, if these boys don’t take it easy, they’ll both have pneumonia.

   Heidi, E! as well as a rep have confirmed that Maks is subbing for Derek for at least Monday, maybe Tuesday but at least Monday

   Oh, I’ve seen that info – but I don’t consider that a confirmation, mainly because Joanna tweeted AFTER that that she didn’t know who she would be dancing with. The “reps” also said in different outlets that it would depend on how Derek felt the day of the show.

   I don’t just believe everything I read – I’ll believe Maks is definitely dancing when Maks dances. Don’t get me wrong – I would rather Maks dance at this point, because he’s rehearsed with Joanna and I don’t want Derek to have a relapse. This flu is nothing to mess with when you’re Derek’s age. But, we’ve seen Derek dance just out of the hospital with food poisoning, and we’ve seen him dance after bashing his head and we’ve seen him dance after going to the hospital with a neck injury. His track record (and that of the show going for drama) speaks for itself.

   As for Derek still being “very sick” – he was well enough to go to the movies last night. He may not be well enough to dance (can you imagine a coughing fit in the middle of the tango?), but I think we can remove the “very”. Thank goodness.

   It’s also in my nature that when someone makes definitive statements like bandana jack did, to ask them to back it up.

   “This flu is nothing to mess with when you’re Derek’s age” I know I had pneumonia the fall semester of my junior year in college and it sucked. The ER doc when I finally went to the ER (I rarely get sick so going to the ER is a huge thing for me), the doc couldn’t believe that I wasn’t worse than I was because my x-rays were just horrible.

   I know, though I’m more likely to believe the reps more than E! but I understand the caution…. I’m cautious too though I hope for Derek’s sake, Maks steps in even if he’s feeling slightly better.

   Well, there was another press release (according to MSNBC) in the last hour that made it sound certain that Maks was dancing, PLUS Chelsie tweeted a pic of Maks, Joanna and Kelly – which makes me think that Maks will be dancing with Joanna. I almost forgot to add that when I say “when you’re Derek’s age” I mean that THIS year the flu (if it’s H1N1) is killing more people than ever before and it strikes those 24 and under much harder.

   I sure do hope that Derek dances the part he choreographed in the MJ tribute. If there is any DWTS pros that can make Kristen at E! eat her words, it’s Derek and Mark. Derek does a freaky good MJ. Provided he’s not coughing up a lung.
