Joanna Krupa Sent Home on DWTS
Is anyone else pissed that Joanna was sent home last night? I think she should have been in the finals no questions asked. She was sexy, elegant, and amazing to watch all season and to come this close just kills me. And with Derek’s hot choreography I’m pretty sure their freestyle would’ve been HOT!
BEST DANCES
Week 1: Cha, Cha, Cha
Week 4: Lambada
Week 6: Waltz
Week 7: Rumba
Week 8: Futuristic Paso Doble
Week 9: Cha Cha Cha
HOTTEST COSTUMES
I wasnt really surprised that she was sent home. I just had a gut feeling it was gonna happen. Derek said he saw it coming himself. Though I think she may have stuck around if she was stading up there with Donny. Even so I still dont think she would have won.
I’m not at all. Her posture has never improved. She’s extremely back weighted, and her feet sucked. Frankly she should have gone home before this.
I do want to say that she does get some beautiful poses like in that last photo and her waltz last night was better then than most of her other dances but it was too little too late.
As compared to Kelly and Donny? Please, Katrina. Maybe you are new to watching this show, because the only reason she went home instead of Kelly or Donny was because she had no fanbase coming in. It’s not about Joanna’s dancing, it’s about Joanna’s dancing as compared to everyone else left plus her lack of fanbase compared to everyone else. To think otherwise is pretty naive – or perhaps you have another favorite and you’re relieved? 🙂
Really not surprised either – anyone who can do math and look at the fanbases (and ringers) involved knew this was going to happen. Hell, I’m amazed and thankful she lasted as long as she did. I’ll be voting for Kelly and/or Donny – I’ll be happy if anyone other than Mya wins. At least Joanna has a personality – she was never boring.
I see where Katrina is coming from. I think we all understand that its not how well you dance but its good to have a fan base. I still dont know why I didnt like Joanna, I always felt like something was lacking performance wise for me.
oops its i meant not just how well you dance.
I think it’s lame because Derek prepared such exciting stuff. Somehow his (very flashy) dance aesthetic and this show work really well together and that pairing so to speak only gets better over time. He should stay on the show for a while, unlike his sister, because he seems charmed here and other things don’t work as well for him, like his crappy music. This season was especially good for him not just because of the routines he did with Joanna but also because Julianne was gone and Mark did poorly with Melissa and left early; he was without his usual entourage. I think Kelly is a pretty good dancer though. Anyway, I’m pretty bored now because my favorite Aaron is gone and I find Mya and Donny dull. At least Kelly is engaging.
I think a lot of this is the producer’s hand, as much as people probably won’t accept that. I wonder how many times the people’s vote has been overlooked to create a “shocking” elimination or keep certain people out of the finals. I think that they are wanting to break the Mark/Julianne/Derek ownership that has been going on since season 4, and they want to give a different pro a chance to win. No matter who wins next week, it will be a pro who has never won before. I seriously believe the producers planned it from the beginning that they were not going to let Derek or Mark in the finale. (Even though Mark’s partner kinda sucked). Just my two cents, I know no one will agree.
I think the three stars in the finals are the ones that belong there. While Derek might be a good coreograher, I don;t think Joanna shaking her boobs and acting sexy is what the show is about. Of the 3 finalist, Kelly is the one that has defintely improved the most with respect to dancing and that should be counted as the most important thing when making a decision as to who should win the trophy. She has been such a joy to watch.
No Princess Heidi I’ve been watching this show for 9 seasons now and before that I watched the British Version. Compared to Donny? No of course not. But he stayed because he’s an Osmond and has all of Utah voting for him. Kelly? Technique wise? Yes. Fans? Most likely. Plus Kelly has showed much more growth than Joanna. Plus people vote for under-dogs. It happens. Joanna just did not have the fan base first and foremost. Secondly, she did not have technique.
In this final, I like Kelly and Mya but they’re not my favorites form this season. My favorite went home a while ago and my second favorite was Aaron so *shrugs*
Blake, I don’t necessary agree with that either. I think people are sick of Mark, Derek, and before Julianne winning but I don’t think the producers controlling the results. Because the audience vote counts for 50% of the vote, they can’t really control (well I guess they could but that’s the conspiracy lover in me speaking) who the audience votes for. I mean they could try by giving them certain people but they don’t always know how people are going to turn out. I mean look at Natalie, Mark, and Aaron. Potentially they could have won, but either viewers didn’t like them, or whatever and they got voted off. Plus there are other factors in pairing the celebs and partners such as height.
It gets harder as the weeks go on but Kelly should win. Has nothing to do with who her dad is. Look how she’s improved. She has never had dancing lessons and her competition has. She’s the underdog who made it to the finals. She deserves to take home the trophy!
i wanted to see the freestyle, i have a felling that the freestyles are going to be really bad in this finnal
Katrina, I know that the audience vote counts for half, but essentially, the producers can choose whoever they want to go home. And I do think that this has happened before, and will always happen on these competition shows, just to keep things from being too predictable. I didn’t say you had to agree. 🙂
Phillipe, I also feel like the freestyles are probably going to suck.
Blake, I’m curious just how do you think the producers do this? Not trying to argue with you but I’m just curious how they would go about it…
There was something about her that made me feel like she was not genuine around the second week of the competition. I gave her a couple votes the first week. And it was not a jealousy because of her beauty. I voted for Brooke Burke each week. She just came across as a spoiled brat with no assets other than sexual. I imagine that all the women voting chose to dismiss her from the competition because of her personality perceived behaviors due to her posing nude in playboy. When I saw Hugh Hefner in the crowd, I thought my perceptions were founded.
i don’t really think there’s that much to it. just disregard the public vote and say “this is who should go home this week!” whether it be based on shock, obviousness, choose the underdog, or make for an interesting show. it’s not like the public would know the difference. do you believe every vote on every show is genuinely what the public voted? (again, not arguing, just interested in hearing another opinion). i think if it was, shows would probably be way to predictable and slightly boring.
Katrina, you’re making my argument FOR me – it doesn’t have to do with dancing when you have Kelly and Donny in the final and Joanna not – it has to do with FANS pure and simple. Kelly’s technique better than Joanna’s? You must only be watching Kelly’s FEET and not her arms (like in her Jive for example). That said, all my votes go to Kelly – if Mya wins I’ll be disgusted.
Kelly and Joanna are what this show is about (along with MJH, Mark D, and a few others).
Blake, due to a game show held a long time ago (can’t remember the name of it), I’m pretty sure that fixing the results would be illegal. That said, they could randomly decide when to eliminate the power voters votes by IP address to get the result they want.
Fans tired of Derek/Julianne/Mark – only those internet fans who have favorite pros who aren’t named Hough or Ballas. I think there’s plenty of evidence that those three are extremely popular, along with Maks, Cheryl and Katrina. The amount of press those six get is ungodly. They are far better known than many of the stars who are on the show.
Donna, you don’t get to the top four if women aren’t voting for you. Women make up the vast majority of voters for this show. Frankly, claiming that women won’t vote for her for a variety of reasons is highly sexist – I tend to give women more credit for not being so judgmental. We are the smarter gender, after all. 😉
Okay, I know that it might seem like I’m beating a dead horse right now, but I’m very new to this site and am looking around and as a huge DWTS, I def have to put in my two cents.
First off, I must be watching a completely different show, or different Kelly Osbourne at least! I don’t and probably will never understand why she is so popular! I had so many issues with her throughout the entire season and was beyond pissed when she got into the final instead of Joanna. I was also upset that Donny was in it as well, but I could find myself giving him more of a break. Here were my biggest issues with Kelly:
-I know it’s wrong to judge a book by it’s cover, but my first ever impression of Kelly was on Punk’d and right away I thought to myself that I would not like her. She has a ridiculously foul mouth and rotten attitude that, no matter how good she might have gotten, I would NOT vote for her.
-While the same goes for Joanna (the whole T.O. debacle), at least she proved me wrong and ended up having a better personality. Kelly? Not at all. Just as much language and almost as much attitude as on Punk’d. I would have thought that Dance Center would have showed that to America, but I guess America’s doesn’t care (which is sad that this country has come to accept it so easily now) or is ridiculously oblivious.
-Not once did I ever see any sort of “sweet” or “ladylike” side to her that everyone claims exists. This mostly goes with the above, but I seriously couldn’t see any sort of transformation of her maturity from week 1 to the end.
-With her first dance, I could at least give it to her that she was very good. Unfortunately, I personally didn’t see a growth in that either (and for once, I think Len lost it, especially with the praise he gave her for her Jive). For the vast majority of her dances, she didn’t look like she improved. Her V. Waltz from week one looked EXACTLY like the one she did in the finale! My biggest thing with her dancing personally was that I always thought she had this really nervous look on her face that kinda took away from the dance. She tried to look happy, but I wasn’t bought. But out of all her dances (and issues with the dances), what irritated me the most was her A. Tango in the finals. For once she was doing the dance well and her legs looked so much better…too bad she was staring down at them to whole time! I think I must have been the only one to notice that ’cause no one else has ever brought it up!
-While it’s not a reason to hate on something, another thing that I didn’t think was very appropriate was the fact that she looked so ecstatic when Aaron and Joanna were both eliminated when she wasn’t. While I’m sure anyone else would be, she shouldn’t have made it so obvious, especially when anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that she didn’t deserve to stay either time. I sure hope she realized that and was thankful she did stay.
Okay, I could probably nit pick at more things, but I know I’m already gonna get bombarded by people who think I’m wrong. I think I’ve supported where I stand enough, but if I am wrong about something I mentioned, feel free to MATURELY point it out, please. I apologize if I’ve offending any fans of hers.
