I also agree that it’s long past time that he gets a partner that it perceived as good right off the bat instead of having an uphill battle. That said, I don’t think Derek suffered any kind of backlash or harm from any of his partners, except maybe Shannon (more his fault than hers, actually) – actually think he benefited from each of them in one way or another. Joanna was a big Derek champion/fan and she always speaks very highly of him. I think the only people who had a problem with her and, in turn, Derek were internet message board types and they don’t matter that much in larger scheme of things. Millions of viewers versus a few vocal internet fans. Believe me – I see most everything Derek related and I didn’t see any media backlash on him except on certain message boards by people who didn’t like him before he danced with Joanna. Some just need an excuse.

You can take heart though – there’s another message board that think that Pam is destined for Maks, claiming she’s too tall for anyone else. That’s not true, of course. At 5′7″ she’s the same height as Joanna and two inches shorter than Shannon – but I think they were implying that Derek is too slight to dance with Pam – I would agree. She needs a bigger guy like Maks.

I think that Pammela Anderson would last a lot longer on the show than Kim K did. Pam is a know character–and the public would probably be eager to see if she could dance or be entertaining -ala Cloris.

Kim K would also appeal to a much younger audience–which isn’t the same audience that DWTS has.

He deserves to catch a break after this past season with Joanna. First impressions are hard to change and for many that first impression of Joanna was a bad one from her appearance on Superstars.

Derek did all he could to make her seem more approachable and likeable to the DWTS audience. And while that helped Joanna in the contest–he got an IMO unfair backlash from some viewers and media types.

Good to know you’ve finally figured out that it’s not REALLY a dance contest, though. Unless of course you’re like me – I’ve always known, I just like to complain about it.

If you thought wardrobe malfuntions on Mark, Melissa, Lil Kim, Kelly Monaco, and Tony were funny wait until season 10 with a big chested chick like Pamela! She distract her partner with her feminine ‘wiles’… lol

If Pamela does make the cut, which I doubt she would, she’d lose so much weight she’d look even in less proportion with her bust!
