Two interesting tweets tonight. First, from Derek Hough:
Relatively safe to assume he’s back?? I think so. Then, from Brooke Burke, confirmation of another rumor as reported last week:
I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
this means only one thin: D is gonna be on next season!!! great news, and also i think brooke may do a good job co hosting the show with bergeron!! really nice . And Derek is the only one who tweeted that, the other pro remane silent about being on the show or not, i hope we’ll get more infos about that, for now really excited that Derek is on
Of all the pros, D was always going to be back for Series 10 … after all DWTS without D would simple be WTS (Worthless Terpsichorean Show).
The questions is … who’s D gonna dance with. I’d like to see him with an older woman like a Susan Lucci or Jane Seymour to see how he handles a more ‘experienced’ partner.
Well, unless he mis-spoke. The fact that he said that, combined with silence from the rest of the pros except Dmitry is enough to make me wonder. Dmitry says he hasn’t heard anything yet. The other pros have been virtually silent. In fact, they were freaky silent yesterday, to the point that lots of people on twitter were asking about it. I think Karina said something about the Olympics and Mark pimped his new CD and that was about it. And that’s unusual for them.
Heidi, maybe the producers told them who was going to be back and who was not and then told them not to say anything which is entirely possible.
Oh sure it’s possible, Katrina – it’s even likely. And it wouldn’t surprise me if Derek (and Dmitry) broke the rules and said something. Some of their rules are stupid. What struck me as very odd was HOW silent all the pros were – in fact, Derek’s been near totally silent for a month now, so it was even more odd that he’s the one that spoke up. If you follow all the pros on twitter, they are a pretty chatty bunch. But yesterday? Nadda except for what I already mentioned. I wonder if they’re afraid if they tweet anything they’ll be bombarded with questions. It was so bizarre that I was far from the only one talking about it.
I’m very happy with Derek probably being back this season, simply wouldn’t be DWTS without him, especially since I’ve been watching the show since season 5, the first season he was on and he’s been on ever since haha. Brooke would make a nice co-host I’m sure, I really liked her.

I frankly think it’s a good thing. I loved the surprise on not knowing who the celebs are…
I like getting the scoop. It’s a game to see if I can find something out that I’m not supposed to know. And with people as blabber mouthy as they are it’s not that hard. Which is why I find it interesting that they’ve managed to muzzle the celebs and the pros this season. For the most part.
My boy Derek may not have gotten the memo. Or he may have seen his fans freaking out and said, “F**k it.”
hahaha yeaaah probabaly Derek spoke becoz he saw that we’re going crazy for the news!! whaterver the reason that made him speak up i’m haappyyyyy to heaar that he’s in n and i’ll be able to watch DWTS one more season

I’d be ok with Brooke as host, but I don’t think she’d be really great at the job either. She’d be serviceable. I’ll still stick with my vote for Nancy O’Dell.
I certainly hope Dmitry will be back. He’s such a powerful dancer and extremely attractive! It seems there will be less celebrities than last year. That might be a good thing?
No Jonathan and no Lacey probably means one more male pro and one female pro left to be axed.
Figure one of the Anna’s must be on the bubble and as for the men … Alec Mazo would be my call for what it’s worth.

I think Dmitry will be back, only because he hasn’t been told NO yet. Yes, less celebs will be a good thing, IMO, but I don’t like that they are bringing in at least one new pro when they already had plenty of pros to go around.
Here’s how my math works it out, making the assumption that there is one new male and one new female pro:
The Potential Men:
Damian – In
Derek – probably In based on last night’s teasing tweets
Dmitry – doesn’t know
Mark- hasn’t said a word
Maks – hasn’t said a word
Tony – hasn’t said a word
Jonathan – definitely out
Alec – hasn’t said a word
Louis – doesn’t know
That’s nine men for only five or six slots. I would GUESS based on Dmitry, Louis and Derek’s tweets or lack of knowledge, that they have partners who just haven’t signed a contract yet. Throw in Damian and that’s four slots. Which means there are one or two male slots left and four pros. Guessing – Alec is out, and Tony is shooting a movie which will put him out. That leaves Maks and Mark. I bet they’re both in, for six male slots.
The Potential Women:
Lacey – definitely out
Cheryl – definitely in
Chelsie – said she was in but deleted the tweets
Edyta – silence
Anna T. – said she wants to wait until it’s set in stone
Anna D. – silence (afaik)
Karina – doesn’t know, finds out tomorrow
Kym – silence
Unknown new female
If my men guesses are correct, that’s NINE women for only five slots. Lacey out and Cheryl/Chelsie both in takes us down to six women for three spots. Assuming they are adding a new female that means two spots for five women. Right? If I were a betting woman, I would GUESS that Anna T. and Karina are in and Kym, Edyta and Anna D. are out. Why? Mainly because all three of them have been totally silent on the subject of DWTS, whereas Karina was talking like she was going to be on and Anna T. could have easily said nothing but instead made comments about wanting to wait until it was set in stone. No, I don’t think they will keep Kym around because she won last season – I don’t think they care and I would bet they give all the credit for that to Donny. And as much as I love Kym, I agree. With his fanbase, he would have won with anyone. However, if there is no new female, then I bet Kym is the one of the three (Kym, Edyta and Anna D) who stays. Them’s my guesses.
