DWTS Season 10, Week 2 – No, the results weren’t rigged!!

Gee, E! Online, I give you a big old DUH. I’ve been writing about this since LAST season, but I give you an A for effort, I guess. At least you get to talk to Conrad. But, silly people, I have to say “duh” to the parts I excerpted below, in particular:

But let’s back you away from that window you’re shouting from, and consider the charges:

• Charge No. 1: DWTS goosed the results to keep Aldrin around because, geez, the man walked on the moon—you can’t dump an American hero to the curb after two lousy dances.

• Charge No. 2: DWTS goosed the results to keep Gosselin around because, c’mon, she’s notorious, and she’s helping the show pull record numbers.

• Charge No. 3: DWTS judged Doherty the most expendable, and, for good ratings measure, put Pamela Anderson in the bottom two.

See, if you crunch the judges’ scores the way they do at DWTS, then the field bunches—the lows aren’t as low, the highs aren’t as high, although, sure, a good amount of outer space still separates Aldrin from Nicole Scherzinger. But Doherty’s lead over Aldrin becomes less than 3 percentage points, her lead over Gosselin less than 2. That’s not a lot of wiggle room for when the public’s votes are added in—if Aldrin manages to best Doherty by just three full points there, then, presto, he’s ahead.

And they way we crunch them HERE….

“I can assure you absolutely there’s no rigging of these votes,” Green said, citing the rules, regulations, more rules and three independent accounting firms. “I couldn’t do anything about them if I wanted to.”

If the suspicious figure that’s exactly what a man in Green’s position would say, then maybe they wouldn’t expect him to say he knows why there was uproar over last night’s results: “Whenever logic is defied,” he said, “people get angry.” Or to put it another way, if you watched the routines, there’s no way Aldrin doesn’t go home, there’s no way Anderson’s on the firing line, there’s no way Doherty doesn’t stick around, and so on.

Unfortunately for Doherty and Anderson, the two might have fallen victim to the oldest stumbling block in Chris Daughtry book. Said Green: “A lot of people assumed they’d get the votes.”

While every vote always counts, every vote is especially important in the early, contender-packed shows. “The margins can be really small—it can just be a few hundred votes,” Green said.

:::sigh::: I’m not bitter. 😉 Anyway, I was just telling someone the other night that if they rigged the vote, they could go to jail. Fraud. Remember the movie Quiz Show? Now, they can certainly manipulate viewers. How? Well, showing temper tantrums. Showing injuries (not Mark’s – he, like Derek, keeps that on the down low until it won’t make a difference – if possible). Showing other, unflattering (or highly flattering) things. Some would say that they do that for DRAMA and RATINGS – and of course they are – but they also can use that stuff to manipulate viewers. I’m not saying they ARE, I’m just saying they could if they wanted. 🙂

SPOILERS!! DWTS Season 10, Week 2 – The Score Card

I find this elimination very shocking, actually. Shannen and Mark leave the competition.

I guess Courtney and I have to tally up how well we did with our predictions. Neither of us sucked, but neither of us were 100% correct either. We can’t draw too many conclusions, because they don’t tell us the vote totals of everyone NOT in the bottom two. Heck, we normally can’t even be sure that the two left standing are actually the bottom two.

Heidi:
– Predicted Aiden would go, but guessed possible shocker of Chad or Shannen.
– Did NOT expect to see Pam in the “bottom 2”. Since Tom did use the words bottom two instead of “jeopardy”, I’m assuming it was a real bottom 2.

Conclusion: looking at my math numbers, Shannen is not that huge of a shocker, her number weren’t that far above those below her. Pam, on the other had, was a real surprise. I think she suffers from NOT having a big name pro by her side – although Shannen did, so….

Courtney:
– Predicted that Kate would go home – or was that wishful thinking? 🙂
– Had Chad in her bottom 2 and didn’t think Shannen would go home, although Courtney did comment on bad dance order for her and Mark.
– Was absolutely correct in pegging me as a complete worrywart in regards to Nicole and Derek. 🙂
– Had commented a few times that she wasn’t sure if people would vote for Pam (more in the comments than anything).

Conclusion: ?? Paging Courtney. Write me a conclusion for your guesses. :-)Alright miss Heidi, here’s my conclusion…

…I need to stick with my gut instincts from my preliminary ranking, as those would have been closer to being correct than the one I did this week! I knew deep down that Pam would probably struggle with votes, but I think I gave her the benefit of the doubt this week because she did decently well. And yes, your worrying was for naught – Derek was just fine, and will probably get a voting boost from the folks who were voting for Mark. I’m beginning to think more & more that bad dance order contributed to Shannen’s early departure…she was just on too early in the performance order for people to remember her well. I should also not underestimate the voting power of the infamous Vote for the Worst – stupid Kate doesn’t deserve to be there! I’m making a voodoo doll as we speak. 😉

Next Week? Pam fans rally, as do Derek/Nicole fans (because Mark the bff went home) – Aiden bites the dust, finally, and Kate lives again to dance another day. Damn it. 🙂 Never underestimate the power of a train wreck. Make sure that voodoo doll is a good one, Courtney

Dancing with the Stars Haiti Support

UPDATE: They listed the website A Better Community after the DWTS Haiti performance. Then, that site links to Hope for Haiti Now.

Last night Tom Bergeron mentioned that Dancing with the Stars would be supporting Haiti on tonight’s Dancing with the Stars. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do to support Haiti. I think he said something about some local Haiti dancers performing, right?

mq, also left the following comment about the Dancing with the Stars Haiti earthquake performance:

Please be sure to watch tonight. There will be a performance by Emmanuel Pierre Antoine and his partner, Liana Churilova. Emmanuel was impacted very profoundly by the earthquake in Haiti and I am sure it is going to be a very meaningful performance tonight.

I’m betting that this is going to be an extremely touching performance and really nice to watch. I’ll try and update this post with the information to support Haiti once the show is on (or if someone on the east coast has that information first, post a comment and I’ll update it).

DWTS Season 10, Week 2 – By the Numbers

Oh boy, several people did not perform up to my expectations. And a couple did much better than I expected. If you want to check up on me, my last numbers discussion and my thoughts based on dance are around here somewhere. 🙂 Finally, one couple may be peaking too soon-I think you all know who I’m talking about. And I see Derek and Nicole got the encore dance – that makes me freak out even more.  You can compare my rankings to Courtney’s as well, if you want. 🙂 She who calls me paranoid.

Here’s how I think the math shakes out – keep in mind that the math for the scores is set. What I have to GUESS at, is how many votes each couple will get. To simplify the math, I kept those numbers small. You can multiply by a thousand, or ten thousand, if you want. The scores shown below are for weeks 1 and 2, combined. PLEASE check my scores – I had this weird feeling I had someone wrong last night.

Here are the Judges Scores:

Dancer/Score
Nicole /53
Evan /47
Erin /44
Pam /43
Jake /40
Niecy /39
Shannen /38
Chad /34
Aiden /34
Kate /31
Buzz /26
Total Judges Points Awarded = 429

You’ll notice some shifting in the numbers from last week. The top two remain the same, but Erin moves up into third place and Niecy moves up into fifth. Niecy moves against my prediction. Actually, Pam did better too, but she still got beat by the very charming Erin and Maks. Aiden also moved ahead of Kate, but I doubt it will do him any good at all.

Dividing the individual scores by the total points awarded gives you the following percentages:

Dancer/Percentage of Total
Nicole /12.33
Evan /10.96
Erin /10.26
Pam /10.02
Jake /9.32
Niecy /9.09
Shannen /8.86
Chad/7.93
Aiden /7.93
Kate /7.23
Buzz /6.06
Based on this, you can see that Buzz is now 6.29 % out of first place, an increase (in distance) of nearly a point from last week. Will it matter? Probably not. Remember, the percentage of total points awarded is added to the percentage of total votes cast to determine the dancers rank. Buzz needs to catch either Aiden or Kate to stay in the game? Do you think he can do it? I still think so.

Here’s my current GUESS at how I think the voting might go, in tens of thousands (or thousands, who knows?):

Dancer/Votes (in thousands)
Nicole /10 – yes, she danced great, but those 10s will cost her votes, unless the Derek and Nicole fans wisely kept the pressure on.

Evan /30 – Still think he’s the one to beat, by a landslide. Although he was bugging the crap out of me by spamming twitter (seriously, every ten minutes during the show and after) and I’m not so sure that his low key personality will hold up in the long run.

Pam /20 – She impressed the hell out of me, and the Marilyn Monroe thing was genius on Damian’s part, but what will happen when this schtick gets old? To the viewers and the judges? Can a new, fitting character be created for every dance? Or will it get worn out? Her dancing isn’t stellar. Yet.

Erin /15 – I left her at the same number – I think her relationship with Maks is great and I bet viewers will as well.

Jake /15 – He, again, didn’t totally suck and the Bachelor is still popular.

Chad /15 – Disappointing in both dancing and personality, but still up there with the rest due to the football vote. However, this won’t last forever. I think he’s got one more week to turn it around.

Niecy /15 – Again, entertaining as hell, and I bumped her this week for dancing well also. She made me eat my words because I thought she would be terrible at this style.

Shannen /15 – Okay, the dad thing is over – but still, she looked great (keep it up Mark and you might lose your rep for craptastic costuming). Mark out danced her a bit, but she gave it the old college try. Honestly, I think it’s hard for the pros to NOT out dance their partners in the Jive.

Kate /20 – Even more polarizing this week than last, if possible. She managed to make the most mild mannered pro on the show lose his temper. That’s BAD. But still I have her at a 20 in a “vote for the worst” or “I want to see more of this train wreck” sort of way. Plus, DialIdol has her at number one – but more on that later.

Aiden /10 – Did his or Edyta’s temper tantrum work for or against him? Does anyone care? I kept him in the 10 range because I’m betting on the latter.

Buzz /20 – Okay, I lowered Buzz’s vote getting ability a bit this week because that was just bad, and I’m thinking that the Astronaut thing will wear off after a good bit of bad dancing.

Now a word on DialIdol – a fine site that works fine for American Idol but NOT for DWTS. Why? Simple – it only takes into account phone voting, not online voting.  As you might guess, a LOT of voting for DWTS is done online. Also, I’m not sure if it measures it throughout the show – you can phone vote on DWTS as soon as the show starts in your time zone. And if you’ve done that, you know that you rarely get a busy signal – which is what DialIdol measures to give its rankings. While it works (supposedly) for American Idol, the system is inherently flawed when used for DWTS.  And that has been proven in seasons past. I can’t believe that entertainment shows actually cite that site as a source of rankings.

Anyway, if you do the same math as I did above for the Judges points – add up the total and then divide into each individual score to get a percentage – then add the two percentages together, you get the total following points. I’ve reshuffled so that the high scorer is at the top and the low scorer is at the bottom. Note that I left Nicole as the low vote getter to see what it would take for her to be eliminated (hence, Tom’s pronouncement of a “shocking elimination” had there been an elimination after week 1) – I went as low as an 8 for her, all others being the same, and there are still two people who were lower than her. So, Courtney, my paranoia may be for naught. 🙂

Evan/27.17
Pam/20.83
Erin/18.36
Kate/18.04
Nicole/ 17.73 (*assumes she and Aiden were tied for low vote getters)
Jake/17.43
Niecy/17.2
Shannen –tie/16.97
Buzz/16.87
Chad/16.03
Aiden/13.33

Note: These are my best guesses of the voting range of the dancers – no clue as to the accuracy. Pam moved up a lot by my guess.   If anyone other than Aiden goes home, I will be surprised…but since Tom said “shocking elimination”, I’m wondering if it could have been Chad or Shannen. As much as I worried about Nicole, I don’t really believe she was low vote getter – and if she was, the next person (likely Aiden) would have to have twice as many votes as her, for her to go home. Doubtful. So – will it be shocking? Or was Tom parroting the producers in an attempt to ramp up the drama (and get people to vote more)??

Dancing with the Stars Season 10 – Gossip Alert for Kate Gosselin!

As usual with this sort of thing – take it for what it’s worth, a grain of salt and so on. There’s a lot of crap out there (and people with agendas) and you never know what’s true, but I thought I would put this out there for your consumption. From PopEater, a small excerpt:

Kate Gosselin Wanted Her ‘DWTS’ Partner Fired
“snip”
“Everyone involved in the show thinks Kate is impossible. We all feel very sorry that poor Tony got paired up with her. She talks to him as if he is her ninth child,” sources tell me. “At one point things got so bad that Kate demanded that the shows producers fire Tony and get her a new partner. However, everyone would rather get rid of her than Tony, who is loved by all the staff.”

DWTS10 Weeks 1 & 2 Power Rankings

Alright, everyone – I owe you all an apology.  I did not do a power ranking for last week…shame on me L Unfortunately I was in the midst of end-of-quarter at work, and consequently worked some long hours…long hours that resulted in me watching last week’s show on a 12” old TV with aluminum foil on the antenna in the breakroom.  Yikes!

But alas, I am back with a vengeance this week, and I will be taking into account both this week & last week’s performances in my rankings.  Ok, did I miss the announcement that the theme of this week’s show was “See how much you can upset your partner”? Because I saw more tears & dramatic storm-off this week than I see in an entire week of soap operas…but those who managed to avoid the drama seemed to fare better than those who buckled under the pressure….

1.)    Nicole & Derek – Top of the scoreboard both last week & this week, the first 2 tens of the season (correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this a record? Earliest 10 ever given in the competition?), and two solid performances.  Their waltz was just lovely – Nicole has got great lines, and actually has a very nice emotional connection to both the dance and to Derek.  Their jive was one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen – razor sharp flicks, and Nicole stayed on beat despite some crazy energetic moves and what seemed to be a rather fast tempo – however, I didn’t quite see the connection to the dance like I did last week (poor Nicole seemed to get a bit winded by the middle – but I give her points for effort!) and would have liked a bit more sass from Nicole.  Now Heidi is currently freaking out (she thinks the two 10’s are a harbinger of doom, silly girl!), so everyone humor her and pick up the phone to vote for Team Houghzinger so we can prove her wrong – I personally think they’re safe and will be for quite some time 😉

2.)    Evan & Anna – The one thing that gives Nicole a big edge over Evan: she actually has chemistry with her partner.  Their waltz, while technically beautiful (perhaps even technically stronger than Nicole & Derek), left me feeling rather cold – poor Evan seemed so nervous that he just seemed to be going through the motions of the dance.  This week was a vast improvement in entertainment value – Evan looked like he was having a ton of fun, it made me smile J – but it seemed to come at the cost of a bit of technique (Len was right – Evan was doing something wonky with his feet, I saw it too).  I think they’re also pretty safe this week (and likely the next few weeks, as we weed out some of the weaker, less memorable dancers), but I fear that they might be becoming too “normal” – they don’t fight, Evan catches on quickly, and they do cute, social things like visiting Evan’s hometown.  Now I’m not suggesting that they start picking fights with one another just to boost ratings – just maybe turn up the emotion a bit, both in their lead-in package and in their dancing 😉

3.)    Pam & Damian – If you ask me, the big “upset” elimination that could have happened last week that Tom was referring to at the beginning of the show could very well have been Pam & Damian.  Their cha-cha last week, while entertaining, was a lot of fluff & hair flipping and not a lot of “meat & potatoes” dance steps – but I will hand it to Pam, she knows how to “sex up” a dance! Which is exactly what she did with the foxtrot this week – it was cute, and not the worst of the night, but my god, her frame was ATROCIOUS.  I like Pam, I really do – but I’m afraid the whole “sex kitten” act will only work for so long before it becomes a bit hackneyed and boring to voters…plus I don’t see her having an easy time sexing up the quickstep or lindy hop, haha. But she is likely safe this week, based solely on her scores…

4.)    Niecy & Louis – This may be the most underrated couple of the season.  I absolutely LOVE watching them, but the judges don’t seem to give them much credit.  True, Louis’ choreography isn’t the most difficult; but Niecy dances it cleanly and adds her own attitude to it to make it fun.  I thought their cha-cha was underscored – Niecy was one of the few people that looked like she was actually having fun out there last week – but their foxtrot this week seemed to get more recognition and a better response from the judges & audience.  These two have a great energy and are quickly becoming my favorite…I’m hoping voters agree! But these two ought to be safe this week, based on their antics both on and off-stage – and a little shameless self-promotion by Niecy on The Insider.

5.)    Jake & Chelsie – Now if Niecy & Louis were the underscored couple last week, then these two were the overscored onces.  I found Jake’s waltz to be shuffle-y and messy, and he’s doing some weird flail-y thing every time he extends his arms.  And you can practically hear the boy counting to himself in his head! Granted, their jive this week was an improvement – Jake managed to keep up, but on the whole it felt low-energy and a little generic (a pattern I’m starting to notice with Chelsie’s jive routines – check out Ty’s & Louie’s and see if you agree). Jake also came across as rather whiney to me in the package, which is especially off-putting when it’s coming from a grown man. I doubt they’re headed home this week, but unless Jake makes vast improvements (and soon), I’m not sure they’re going to have a whole lot of longevity in this competition…

6.)    Erin & Maks – I agonized over putting Jake & Chelsie above these two, but in the end I decided that Erin & Maks are running the risk of becoming rather boring – which is often a bigger threat than being whiney, hehe.  I thought her cha-cha was actually quite good (aside from some crazy chicken arms) and she seemed like she was at ease & having fun. I wasn’t as wowed by the foxtrot this week…the choreography seemed a bit boring (no real “moments”) and Erin fell victim to that glassy-eyed “I don’t quite know what to do with my face during the ballroom dances” expression, which resulted in very little connection to Maks or the audience.  The solo work and the beginning and some of her stretches showed off her jazz dance background, so we know she’s got some natural talent.  But here’s the thing that’s kinda puzzling me about her: based on what was shown in the package (and granted, I know that they tend to edit that stuff to make things look worse than they really are), it almost seems like she’s a bigger drama queen than Maks…if this is the case, I think she may need to learn to tame her tantrum reflex, lest she become a bit “witchy” in the eyes of voters…

7.)    Shannen & Mark – Props to Shannen for her hard work both last week & this week – you can tell she is making a genuine effort to do well in this competition.  However, I think Mark’s choreography, while done in an effort to “challenge” her, is beginning to overwhelm her completely – she almost disappears amidst a sea of wild steps and just seems to be trying to keep her head above water.  If Mark could just pare down some of his crazy steps into simpler, more cleanly-executeable ones, we could see some amazing growth from Shannen.  I liked the waltz better than the jive (it was slightly less frenzied), and love Shannen’s devotion to her father.  But they’ve gotten stuck with crappy running-order numbers both weeks (they performed 2nd last week, and 1st), which often makes them harder to remember in viewers’ minds.  I don’t think they’re going home, but I pray that Mark just calms down his choreo a bit to really give Shannen a chance to shine and connect to the audience…he should have Louis give him some pointers.  I <3 Louis…

8.)    Buzz & Ashly – There is nothing I can really say about Buzz’s dancing – he stinks, and in the back of our heads we all knew he would really struggle in this competition.  But could we have had a more charming senior citizen on the show this season? He’s got Tom DeLay’s charm (without the checkered past) and Cloris’ humor (without being overly offensive), and just seems to be having so much fun and is so happy to be there.  He gets standing o’s with every performance, despite having the lowest scores of the week; people truly love & respect him, which is why he won’t go home this week.  He may be in the bottom 3 (based on his low scores), but I think the baby boomer voters will likely rally around their legend to keep him in for another week or two…

9.)    Aiden & Edyta – I knew from the minute I heard the first few notes of “Hungry Like the Wolf” last week that this couple was probably going to be a disaster.  Aiden is a very, very awkward mover – but at least he’s an awkward mover with a sexy accent.  The cha-cha was bad – almost bad to the point of it being a caricature of a cha-cha.  The foxtrot this week was a vast improvement, but you can tell that he is just not used to moving this way at all.  Add to that an Edyta meltdown (I’ve never seen her cry on the show before!) and an elbow to the eye (what is it with Edyta and assaulting her partner’s corneas?), and these two could be in danger this week.  Aiden’s fans from All My Children could pull through and keep them safe this week, but they are one of the weaker couples, and likely won’t survive long.

10.)   Chad & Cheryl – I was really expecting Chad to have an explosive personality out on the floor, based on his antics on the football field – unfortunately, he and Cheryl have been really boring thus far, to the point of me forgetting they are part of this year’s cast (“9, 10…crap, who’s the 11th couple? Darnit…hmmm…oh wait, it’s Chad & Cheryl…) and even having a hard time paying attention to their performances! Everything is just so…ordinary.  And Chad is anything but, which is what makes it even worse.  Their cha-cha wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great or particularly exciting either; the foxtrot this week was actually a downgrade, as Chad looked extremely uncomfortably & slouchy (is it just me, or is there a significant height difference between him & Cheryl?) He’s even blending into the background during the lead-in…I couldn’t honestly tell you one thing he said tonight.  Chad seems like a true competitor and someone who could really succeed this season…but unless he finds a way to stand out from the crowd, it may be curtains for him sooner rather than later.

11.)   Kate & Tony – Kate, Kate, Kate.  I honestly was going to give you a chance.  But then you went and proved me right – not only are you a terrible dancer, but you have the personality of a wet mop and a crap attitude.  Could Kate have possibly been more insecure or negative during the lead-ins? Poor Tony was doomed from the start – it’s hard to motivate someone who is constantly in need of reassurance, both on and off the floor.  Their waltz was stiff and awkward, to the point of it being painful to watch; I honestly had to avert my eyes during portions of their jive (did Kate even do half of the choreo Tony gave her?).  And the shout-outs to the kids, while sweet, are beginning to feel a bit desperate to me – a rather “I have 8 kids and a good-for-nothing ex-husband, please don’t send me home even though my attitude & dancing stink” gesture.  If Kate set out to prove that she is indeed the bitter, unsavory woman the tabloids have made her out to be – I’m afraid she succeeded.  I would be very, very surprised if she did not go home tomorrow.  If only you had at least faked like you were having a good time, Kate…

Alright, so two performances in, this is how I see them stacking up…I’m predicting Kate, Chad, & Aiden in the bottom 3, with Kate on the chopping block.  What do you guys think? Could Kate be snatched from the jaws of death? Will there indeed be an “upset” elimination? Will Brooke’s co-hosting skills become less awkward? Will Len stop inventing words? 😉

DWTS Season 10, Week 2 – The Dance Order??

All I know thus far is:

Shannen/Mark – First
Aiden/Edyta – Second

Chad/Cheryl – Tenth

Anyone got anything else?

Want their voting numbers? Wanna know what dance they’re doing tonight? We posted that too. 🙂

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS Season 10, Week 2 – Who’s Dancing What?

Who’s dancing what? Well, barring any monkey business like what the producers were SO very fond of last season, that’s pretty easy to figure out. Last season was seriously bad, with the number of different dances they had in a given week, and the crappy way they assigned dances (Derek and Joanna did FOUR latin dances in a row, not counting the foxtrot relay). But this year seems like it might be harkening back to the good old days. Two different dances for the first two weeks and if you did latin (Cha Cha Cha) in Week 1, you get the ballroom standard in Week 2. This week’s dances are the Foxtrot and the Jive. Maybe it’s just me, but the Jive seems ridiculously hard for week 2 – but I guess they’re all hard.

Anyway, this should be the line up – in NO PARTICULAR order, since I only know that Chad and Cheryl are dancing 10th. I haven’t seen any other numbers. And most of these dances were verified by the dancers on Twitter.

Chad/Cheryl – Foxtrot – I have a feeling that Chad will do pretty well with this one and that we’ll see an improvement from last week.

Shannen/Mark – Jive – Again, I think we’ll see some improvement in Shannen, although she was pretty stiff in week 1. But this is going to depend entirely on Mark’s choreography – if he gets too complicated it will wear her out – it’s only week 2!

Erin/Maks – Foxtrot – I expect that Erin will fare better in ballroom than latin because of her height, and I expect tonight she will garner rave reviews.

Jake/Chelsie – Jive – Oh boy. He surprised me last week with not sucking. I expect he will have issues keeping up with Chelsie though.

Nicey/Louis – Foxtrot (to “Love you, I DO”)– I predict she won’t totally suck, but she will not get good scores. Len doesn’t like short people doing ballroom.

Evan/Anna – Jive – He’ll kill it and he doesn’t even have to.

Buzz/Ashly – Foxtrot – much better than his Cha Cha, but still not good. Not that it will matter. He’s *80*. Side note: I saw an interview with Buzz where he was complaining that Nicole was a “dancer” and that he wasn’t – and I’m sorry, Buzz, but I don’t think that’s Nicole’s TRUE advantage over you. I think her real advantage is that she’s 49 years YOUNGER than you are. 🙂

Nicole/Derek – Jive – saw some rehearsal footage and she was keeping up with Derek. Derek also says that this Jive kills him, it’s so fast. I’m hoping he didn’t go overboard.

Aiden/Edyta – Foxtrot (to Sinatra) – I think we’ll see a vast improvement here. We better or it’s the last we’ll see of Aiden.

Kate/Tony – Jive – can you say disaster? I knew you could.

Pam/Damian – Foxtrot – her Cha Cha was a hot mess, but highly entertaining. I have a feeling we might not say the same for her Foxtrot.
