Dancing with the Stars 2010 Predictions and Excitement
The 10th season of DWTS is upon us. As I started thinking about the new season of DWTS I started getting really excited that it’s back. This break seemed far too long for my liking. On that note, I thought I’d list the things I’m most excited anout the upcoming season and make some predictions.
The first is actually both. I predict that Chad Ochocinco is going to be way out there in what he says and does. This is going to make a lot of fans of the show absolutely hate him. I on the other hand will enjoy every minute of it. Every time Chad opens his mouth it’s pure entertainment.
I predict that the first Baywatch/and or huge chest joke about Pam will happen in the first episode. Honestly, I want my old baywatch babe back.
Edyta. Yummy!! Nuff said.
I predict we’ll have at least 3 male dancers with their shirts off in the first episode.
I’m excited to see Brooke host the show with Tom. Not because I think Brooke will be amazing (like Tom). She just better not let me down and be worse than Samantha. I’ve always known that change isn’t always better, but I think this one will be.
11 couples. We all know that there were far too many last season.
New dancers. I’ve hears people talk about these 2 new [to me] pros and I’m looking forward to see if they can live up to what people have said.
This one’s a no brainer. We’re going to have another Olympian in the finals and a pop star. Despite the ringer status, I’m fine with both of them making it.
Great dancing. Seems like forever since there’s been great dancing on TV. I need DWTS and SYTYCD to coordinate their schedules so that one of them is always on. Will never happen, but I can hope. Oh yeah, the pro dances. I can’t wait for that too.
Ok, so what are your predictions and what’s getting you excited for DWTS 2010?
Um John, there is only one new pro, Damian. Ashly isn't new, not by a long shot.

I know Damian is new (and will be as fantastic as he was in Burn the Floor) but Ashly isn't new if that's who you're referring too. She was on the first three seasons and then left due to personal reasons. She was my favorite dancer and I am SOO excited for her return:)

Well….
A) I'm excited too.
B) If three of the men have their shirts off it's because they saw how much freakin' press Derek got last season. Unfortunately, it is HIGHLY unlikely that Derek is one of the three.
C) the continued references to Nicole in the top 2 are making me nervous – like we're jinxing her. Although she did kick Derek in the face today, so if they are on to dancing that requires that activity I feel better.
D) If Tom DOESN”T make a joke about Pam's chest I will be totally shocked. Seems like a no-brainer.
E) Damian better be damn good because he took a spot that three other men could have had and if he's the Derek and/or Maks future replacement….well, he's got his work cut out for him.

since I don't remember her. I guess I should have said “new to me”
I predict that if Derek makes it to the finals his freestyle will blow our collective linens off. Last season's freestyles were such mediocrities
Derek's freestyle with Brooke was the only one that has ever deserved a 30 and to indulge Donnie's doddering with the same score…. Shame! Shame!
I agree with the three bare chests in one episode prediction. Since none of the men rise above the pleasant-looking category we will need their other attractions to keep us interested.
I was really bummed about Lacey not being asked back, but when I found out Ashly was traded back in, I felt better. Ashly's great and it's a fair trade. She signed a 6 year option with DWTS and she's been off the roster for 6 seasons (3 years), I'll be happy to see her dancing again. And I think Buzz is going to really warm some hearts, kind of like Ty did a year ago. I am really offended that Kym didn't get asked back for whatever the reason may be, I think it's really bad form that the winner doesn't get an automatic bid back to defend their title. And Dmitry came in second, I know he complained a little bit there at the end but he's still great and I would have liked to have had the chance to see him try again. I have to admit, it's going to take a lot for me not to see Damian as the “enemy” a little…not fair to him, I know. But I'm loyal to my pro's!
Unfortunately, I feel like my favorite, Mark, won't make it past week 6 again…I'm worried by Shannen's fear of live audiences. I just hope she gets bitten by the bug once she does get out there and it infuses some passion in her to put that little bit extra into her dancing. At present, she seems a bit lackluster…
My final 3 picks are Nicole (I think this is Derek's year to take home his #2 and finally be tied-up with Julianne and Mark), Evan and Chad (you can never disregard the magic that is Cheryl!). I mean I never expected Tom Delay to last as long as he did but Cheryl can work miracles on that floor! And Chad's got some personality that I think many are going to get behind. I also am feeling optimistic about Erin and Maks, so I'm excited to see what they bring us a week from Monday!
All-in-all, I'm very excited to see how this season will come together and I'm optimistic it will be far more entertaining than last season. I must say that I'm hoping Kate will be the first to go but I also was feeling very much the same about Tom Delay last season and was surprised by him, but I've honestly had my fill of the Kate drama and really didn't want it on my favorite show.
i'm reaaly excited about this season the cast is just amazing!! i was a bit disapointed when they didn't call lacey she was my fav female pro, but happy with the arrangement of the pro guys (since Derek Mark and Maks are not out, it's fine with me!!
) there are already a lot of perdictions about the couples being in the finals, and it's really not a really good thing to do, cauz we have to let things go normally, making such perdictions can turn the votes into the wrong way ( when people hear that the couples who are perdicted to be in the finals are nicole/derek evan/anna and Erin/maks, people can assume that they're safe and give there vote to less deserving couples ( sorry i'm not trying to ofend the other couples fans!) and we would witness a shoking elemination in the middle of the competition wich lead us to huge deception for the fans)!! it's fine to talk about the couples with a lot of potential but talking about the finals and the show didn't start yet! wouw! plus, it would really annoy the other celebrities on, cauz everyone got into this with a hope of a chance to make it all the way! so we have to see what everyone can do and then start such perdictions!! But it's only my opinion hope it didn't ofend anyone! 
i agree with you, joan. mark too is my favorite, and i feel like he may not have a chance this season. shannen seems annoying to me, maybe because of all of the controversy she made with 90210. hopefully he'll come back again for the design a dance!

You are certainly welcome to your opinion and I'm really glad you shared it. Although, I must admit that I LOVE when there's a shocking elimination. Sure, I hate it when it's my favorite couple, but I like the excitement that we don't know who will be voted off. So, if making predictions this early has that effect, then I'll plan on making some more predictions;-)
Someone will surprise us. That's one beauty of the show. If someone didn't, it wouldn't be nearly as fun to watch.
Thanks for liking my post DWTS! Shannen does have a checkered past that's for sure but I'm hoping the years have smoothed over the rough edges and that she won't give Mark a hard time. I am excited to see what he can do with her, since she doesn't seem uncoordinated from the small bits of footage I've seen so far. Maybe they'll surprise us?!
One thing that is good about Dancing with the Stars is that it usually
brings out the best in a person. It makes them more of a person for
some reason. I bet that's what will happen with Shannen.
It doesn’t make them more of a person, it just lets you see more of who they actually are than just the image that the media in general paints of them. People on the internet tend to categorize people (sometimes permanently) based on 5 second sound bytes. Joanna – bitch. Lil’ Kim – criminal. Shannen – bad girl. How many times do people have to be surprised by someone to stop making snap judgements on someone’s character based on a highly edited bit of film? Even Gilles surprised people with how sweet he was because they had assumed that he was like his character in a film.

here's a big heads up. either dwts or sytycd ARE on nearly continuously these days, or were this past year. i don't think they will go with a fall season again after last year. while sytycd may not be on the TEEBEE all year long, it is certainly on much of the year via youtube and facebook. i went from swytycd US to sytycd UK to sytycd australia (currently) dwts is starting up again, and sytycd canada AND US will be upon us before dwts finishes. life is good for dance fanatics with broadband and connections.
Good point bandanajack. I guess there's just something about a live show
that I can't enjoy as much on a recorded show. Plus, there's the shared
experience of the US show which I miss on the international shows as well.
Not as many people are as dedicated as you and I to watch the international
versions.
You are correct though, there has always been something on thanks to the
beauty of the internet.
all i know is that 2009 was a very bad year for me, and the one thing i could count on for a few light moments of beauty was all those hours of dance. never failed to lift my spirits.
Great to hear! No doubt dancing can have a wonderful effect on you. That's
why I love watching it so much. It can be absolutely magical.
i used to detest chad johnson (ochocinco), but really appreciate him now. he is true entertainment. he has been promoting the heck out of DWTS and for that i am very appreciative.
I think Mark and Shannen will be gone 1 or 2. She just seems too timid and Mark does not seem that engaged in this season. I really think his music is his true passion and he just can't get excited about DWTS anymore.
Nicole and Evan are the two ringers this season so they will go far.
I hope Niecey and Buzz last at least til mid season as they add pleasure.
I think Pam will most likely go first b/c her fans are not the type to tune in to DWTS and she is partnered with an unknown new pro. I could be wrong as I have been wrong before.

I think you're right about Mark. When I was able to go to DWTS and hang out
back stage, it was all we (really Derek's mom) could do to rip Mark away
from his guitar to come and say hi. He did so graciously, but you could
just see the way that he played his guitar that it was his true passion.
Mark seems to be getting into choreography for ice skating nowadays as well – which I guess I find somewhat odd. I didn’t know it would translate so well to ice. But maybe it’s just a job to pay the bills? I dunno. I think you are correct about music being Mark’s future, whereas I see Derek being more all around entertainment and the rest of the pros mainly into dance and building studios. Although Lacey sings as well.
I say, go for it. All of them should be building on what they want to do when DWTS ends someday – and it sure seems like they are. Most of them are quite busy doing things other than DWTS.
