New Dancing with the Stars Host

There’s been a whole lot of discussion about the new host, Brooke Burke, on Dancing with the Stars. In fact, there’s already been a few comments on this site about the host. So, I thought it would be fitting to have a little poll to see what people thought of the new host and how many people want Samantha Harris to come back to DWTS.

Where’s the option to vote for Melissa Rycroft?
I did NOT like Brooke Burke as co-host of last night’s DWTS. NO fun! NO energy! NO connection with the dancers! She did make me miss Samantha. It was obvious ABC made the wrong decision. Fresh, fun Melissa Rycroft would have been the best choice!
Hmmm…good point. I guess I should have had an option that said “Neither of them” Next time.
In an enjoyable DWTS Premiere Brooke stood out as the one mistake! Professional? Yes! Dull, boring? Yes! Jane Tranter from BBC Worldwide must do yoga with Brooke’s agent, only explanation why the fun, fresh Melissa Rycroft wasn’t picked as the co-host. She would have been a far better selection!
Above are so right. Maybe a gallon of Red Bull before the show would help Brooke. She was lifeless and not fun to watch! Made Melissa Rycroft – a fun, fresh talent who engages the people she interviews, look like the obvious choice.
Everyone talked about how professional Brooke is. Guess that’s what impressed DWTS. Samantha always added a goofy, fun, energy to the show. Brooke was no fun and seemed to sleepwalk through the show reading script after script. Folks are right! Fun Melissa Rycroft would have been a better choice.
I wanted to check both comments.
Brooke didn’t bother me too much, excerpt she kept pulling the mic away before she was done talking and it kinda annoyed me. Based on only one show, I like Samantha better, but I think Brooke can improve (I hope)
I think part of Brooke’s issue was just first week jitters. She has potential and I’m sure it will start to show once she gets more comfortable. I actually think a BIG part of the problem was that stupid “fishbowl” they are using now. It seems really inpersonal…bring back the red room!!
I hate that the producers feel such a need to make “major” changes each season. Why not just leave a good thing alone?
Brooke was so bland! No connection to the audience, the stars or even to Tom Bergeron. She was making me miss Samantha, who at least entertained even when she was awkward. Brooke’s awkward moments were just plain awkward. Why have a co-host if they are going to be so boring? Let’s have someone fun! Melissa Rycroft would be fun. Even Samantha was more fun!
Brooke was fantastic…She has a natural flow of words.
Samantha was a terrible interviewer. She asked inappropriate questions sometimes. Melissa is a two-question ask person, not enough experience n shes always giggling like a hi schooler.
People, it was the first show, even a new host gets jitters. Get over Melissa didn’t get chosen for a minute and give Brooke a chance to get into it. I see less pointless whining in a preschool.
Seriously, I wanted Melissa Rycroft to be the new co-host. I was really never a fan of Brooke. Nancy O’Dell would have been a great consideration as well

Yes, I would have loved Nancy O’Dell as well. I think she would have been the best of all those options. Oh well, maybe next season;-)
add me to the melissa rycroft column. brooke seems a nice enough person, but her high pitched little girl voice and poor interviewing skills made her all but unwatchable. surely they could have done better somewhere.
I find Brooke EXTREMELY awkward. She absolutely does not connect with Tom, and says very strange things during interviews with the dancers. It’s so bad that the dancers just look at her like she’s and idiot and don’t respond. How do people not notice that? I miss Samantha.
