Dancing with the Stars Music – Maxwell and Debi Nova
I think I shed a tear tonight when the #SAVEKate campaign failed. I know that Courtney and Heidi are likely rejoicing, but the more venom people spewed at Kate the more I liked her. Plus, she looked great on Dancing with the Stars. I totally dig the long hair. Anyway, enough about Kate. This post is about the Dancing with the Stars music.
Here’s the music performed on Dancing with the Stars by the 2 special guest performers:
Maxwell performed “Fistful of Tears” with Tyne Stecklin & Teddy Forance dancing to a piece choreographed by Lacey.
Debi Nova performed “Drummer Boy” with Dmitry Chaplin, Tony Dovolani, Derek Hough and Damian Whitewood dancing. Here’s the music video for it on
I won’t try to list all of the songs that were used for the “Iconic Movies” performances with Debbie Allen. Feel free to list them in the comments. Thanks to Courtney for listing the music used for the “Iconic Movies” performance with Debbie Allen:
“Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Irving Berlin (from the Fred Astaire movie “Blue Skies”)
“You Should Be Dancing” by The Bee Gees (from “Saturday Night Fever”)
“Soul Bossa Nova” by Quincy Jones (from “Austin Powers”)
“Fame” by Naturi Naughton (cover of the original Irene Cara song, from the 2009 movie “Fame”)
As always, you can find the full list of Dancing with the Stars music and watch for some cool posts coming soon that talk about the music reuse on Dancing with the Stars among other fun things.
Who danced to the Maxwell song on DWTS last night?
The two dancers were Tyne Stecklin & Teddy Forance, and they were actually choreographed by Lacey. Pretty cool, eh? 🙂
The Iconic Movies performances…
“Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Irving Berlin (from the Fred Astaire movie “Blue Skies”)
“You Should Be Dancing” by The Bee Gees (from “Saturday Night Fever”)
“Soul Bossa Nova” by Quincy Jones (from “Austin Powers”)
“Fame” by Naturi Naughton (cover of the original Irene Cara song, from the 2009 movie “Fame”)
Thanks Courtney. You’re much better at this than I.
Hahaha not really…I just know the weird stuff. The easy-to-figure-out ones don’t interest me much 😛
Great to the male pro dance. I preferred Maxwell’s performance but loved to see the guys dance. Dmitry stood out to me although Derek is the best raw talent dancer by far. Damien is just not that good to me. I did notice how Tony did not do the knee bends like the other guys. Age comes for us all Tony and it bites.
While Tony is not that old, I did notice him not taking a knee. He’s either injured or when you spend that much time dancing stuff wears out faster.
I don’t know what Damian’s deal is. Is it just because he is dancing with a very large…personality? I mean, I find him more likable than Dmitry by a mile – but that was once I realized he was there. I guess they are both too quiet for me.

me too, Dmitry is super hot and he is nice but i just don’t like him, not just becouse he is super boring but there is something that i can’t explain, but I find Damian charming, i don’t know, i like him and the way that he handle Pam, he is a keeper, i would take him over dmitry every season, i just hope that they have enough short womam next season for him, Louis, MArk and Derek.
I’m thinking more and more that Derek won’t be involved in next season. Yes, I’ve read rumors that he’s joining Strictly Come Dancing (supposedly to be closer to Cheryl), but I find that highly doubtful. The ONLY reason Derek would want SCD over DWTS is for Cheryl – there is no other benefit to doing that show, that I can see. I think there is another reason he won’t be on, and I don’t know what it is yet. Of course, I could be very wrong. I have no insider knowledge other than the fact that Derek has big time management behind him now – and that’s not exactly “insider”. 🙂
