Dancing with the Stars Season 11 – Rumor Roundup!
Like I mentioned a few days ago, I normally put up a post of rumored celebs from previous seasons because it seems that it often takes a season or two before a rumored celebrity actually makes it on to the show. You just never know when a past rumor is going to come true. So, here are some past rumors – plausible or otherwise. 
Probably one of the scariest rumors ever, in my view, is LaToya Jackson. She’s still out there, and I bet she’s still an option. I think she was a lock prior to Michael’s death – I think she came right out and said that they had offered but it was too soon after Michael’s death at that point.
How about Dominique Moceanu and Vera Wang?? Any gymnastics fans have a clue? As for Vera, she was in the audience several times last season, but it’s pretty well known that she’s a friend of Evan Lysacek’s, so that could be the explanation.
Back in April, there was a rumor going around about Rachel Uchitel, but I think that ship has sailed. She was never famous (at least in a good way) and what little infamy she had is likely pretty well gone. I don’t think we have to worry about her. For that same reason, I’ve never dedicated a rumor post to Oksana Grigorieva (part of the Mel Gibson train wreck) – I just don’t think (hope?) those rumors are credible. Someone back me up here.
In early May there were a few interesting ones, plausible and not, such at Tony Blair, Lee Meriwhether and Morgan Fairchild - I see the last two as plausible, but Tony Blair??? Ummm…I dunno.
A couple other ones, such as Danny Gokey and Kurt Angle, are probably still plausible even though the rumors are more than a year old.

Hehehe…Rachel Uchitel. I’m still laughing my ass off about that one. Luckily for us, she’s too busy running away from Celebrity Rehab to go hoof it on DWTS. As if they’d even stoop to that level after the massive success they had in season 10…but I’ve said it all before.
Ugh…Danny Gokey? Really? He was, IMO, the most obnoxious contestant on the 8th season of Idol. The pimping of the dead wife got a little out of control…as did the dorky dancing around the stage. Yet he allegedly danced salsa quite avidly with his late wife…so who knows. I think he’s probably still trying to launch a career in country music – albeit unsuccessfully.
I would actually be sort of excited to see LaToya Jackson on the show. She was really cute on that reality show she was on a while back where she…ummm…ran around with the police? Pretended to be a police officer? (I can’t remember the name of the show, and now that I try to think about it, I’m not actually sure what the point of the show was either. She was really cute and sweet on it though!)
And you have to admit she has good dancing genes. I’ve never seen her dance, but if she’s even in the same galaxy as Michael or Janet, she would be really great.

It was filmed nearby in Muncie, IN, and I actually have the dubious honor of getting a warning for speeding from Jack Osbourne himself during a particularly rowdy night with my boyfriend at the time, who went to BSU. That show was oh-so-pointless, but hilarious nonetheless…and LaToya was actually pretty cool on it.
I’m not so much afraid of LaToya herself, as much as I am the fanfare that would be likely to surround her stint on the show – I worry that every dance she does will be labeled as “heroic” or “inspired” just because of her departed brother. I’m sorry, but I absolutely loathe a sad backstory for any dance reality show contestant – I bitch and moan on a regular basis about the sob stories they feed us on SYTYCD, AGT, and ABDC, and for the most part, DWTS has managed to avoid that…but I’m not sure people could keep it objective when it came to LaToya. She could be terrible, and no one would say anything and instead comment on how “courageous” she was to dance after Michael’s passing.
