DWTS Season 11 – Nancy Lee Grahn…perhaps in?
You may remember us reporting a couple months back that General Hospital soap star Nancy Lee Grahn had tweeted something about being on a possible casting list for season 11. Well, beyond that, she hasn’t really said or done much to suggest that she was, in fact, going to do DWTS…until now.
Whilst browsing around for GH spoilers today at soaps.com (yes, I’m an avid GH viewer!), I noticed the following posted under the “Comings & Goings” section:
* Nancy Lee Grahn has gone on vacation
, which means Alexis won’t be seen again until after the actress returns in mid-September.
Now while this may seem pretty pedestrian on the surface (everyone takes time off - soap stars included), it just seems like a very interesting time for Nancy to take a vacation…especially since the entire cast of season 11 will be present at the live cast annoucement/press conference on August 30. Then you add in the fact that the celebs start practicing with their pros immediately after the cast is announced, and they’re also wrapped up with preseason photo shoots, media, etc…maybe Nancy decided to put GH on hold for a few weeks to prepare for this season of DWTS.
Also interesting to note – the major storyline that Nancy’s character, Alexis Davis, had been involved in at the beginning of the summer has pretty much drawn to a close, which leaves Alexis only appearing in one or two scenes a week…which leaves Nancy with more time to devote to other ventures 
What do you guys think: is Nancy’s vacay strategically-planned to coincide with the first few weeks of DWTS training, or is it just a strange coincidence?

Hmm. Very interesting. To me, she’s not the most interesting soap star, and I hope she can prove me wrong if she does the show. I’m still wishing/waiting/hoping that Broadway Star, Karen Olivo can do the show. But I won’t hold my breath since she is on contract with West Side Story!
I think you’d have to look at her track record of vacations. Tony Geary takes the same amount of time off each year at the same time of year.
@Heather – Yah, I thought about that too – but I can’t recall the last time Nancy took a vacay in order to compare. But if she were indeed going to do DWTS, I daresay she picked a very strategic time to take a vacation. I guess we’ll have to wait and see though…we’re only a little over a week away from the big cast reveal! I’m pumped
But speaking of Anthony Geary, I always miss Luke when he takes his summer sabbatical from GH…right now I’m really missing his banter with Tracy. And someone needs to keep Ethan on the straight and narrow instead of in the line of fire! LOL. I’m assuming you’re a GH fan too?
Another rumor here – Who’s this Valeri Hashburntar? She says on her twitter – https://twitter.com/vallyh – that she has been offered to do the show yet I have no clue who the girl is.
@Harry – I googled her and the only thing that came up was her twitter page…and she only has 15 followers. Says she works for BTTV. I’m guessing she’s in the UK, based on who’s following her, so I’m gonna put money on it that she actually means she got asked by Strictly Come Dancing and not DWTS. And since I can’t find anything on her, I’m willing to bet this one is a hoax. The gal tweeted about giving birth to twins about a month ago! Doubt she’s gonna be ready to hoof it anytime soon.
I’ll keep an eye on it…but I doubt this one is anything substantial.
I live in England and I am confused as to why Valerie Hashburntar has so little google results – she is massive over here! Her show BTTV is like your version of The View, and it’s the most watched show in the country. However, when I looked her up here in London it said that she presented a show in the USA called BTTV USA, and that she was a member of a famous girlband in America, but she’s been all over the papers recently. She’s recently divorced her husband who is even more famous than her, and she was on a news channel this morning and said she would be doing a big project stateside for a few months, so I think this woman is likely to appear on DWTS.
Hmmmm….rumor queen here.
Got a link?? I’d love to check it out – I have a hard time believing they’d put someone who’s unknown in the US on DWTS, though. The Cheryl Cole rumor for next spring I can see, because the producers are just that twisted to put Derek with his gf, plus she’ll likely land X-Factor US – but this chick I’ve never heard of.
If you look on the 5th comment, Harry’s left a link for her twitter account. However, she did a show over here in the states called BTTV USA, so some people may of heard of her. The girl’s probably doing it to lose some baby weight, as she just had twins
