DWTS Season 11 – Pro AND Partner Watch
Tony is following now Audrina Patridge on Twitter. Jennifer Grey is following Derek, plus E!’s Watch with Kristen is confirming that partnership. Mark Ballas is following…Donald Duck and one of Derek’s old girlfriends. WTF? 
He really is – I’m not kidding. Cheryl is following the Situation – but that could change. They find out their partners today. So, as with every season, the guessing games begin. Someone on twitter said they heard (what movie am I thinking of right now?) that Louis was getting Margaret Cho – which would have been my guess anyway, as she is rather small and so is he.

I’m going to do a bit more research this evening – barring big mouthed pros – and see if I can come up with reasonable guesses for the rest of them.
Aww, I kind of wanted Audrina with Derek. But, I respect Tony and I hope he carries her through and that she actually wants to learn/does well. Does this mean Brandy is paired with Maks? Uh-oh, that doesn’t seem like a good match. Something tells me that Derek and Jennifer will do well. Oh and to all the people that complain that Derek has never had a bad partner, doesn’t that go to show you how good of a teacher he is?
I don’t mind when certain pros get a lot of good dancers, but I don’t like it when they get them in back-to-back seasons. It makes it a little boring.
I think Mark Ballas and Bristol Palin are pretty much a guarantee. No idea if the girl can dance (I fear she might be a little too hesitant to really let loose on national TV), but in terms of height and “look”, they go perfectly together.
Has Margaret Cho been “confirmed”? What did I miss? I can’t imagine her being a good dancer. Wish Louis would get someone great.
@Mike the last time Louis had a good partner was back in Season 3, when he was paired with Monique Coleman. That was the season that I began to watch and Monique had everything to go into the finale, except a fan base. She made it to the final 4, which is great. But, IMHO, she was better than the Joey and Emmitt. I would have loved to see her win.

But who knows, maybe Margaret will be the dark horse. One never knows.
Mike, Margaret was “confirmed” by E! News – I had heard it before that on Twitter and I never gave her a post of her own because too much was happening too fast.
Plus I have this feeling that E! might have gotten some of them wrong.
Louis VanAmstel just tweeted that some of the speculations in the media are off.
And to Nathan – yep, Derek’s had some duds but he’s turned them around. I can’t believe all he managed to do with Jennie Garth. He’s a fantastic choreographer and teacher. I can’t believe the stuff he comes up with.
I don’t know, I’m still wondering about Kym Johnson and Jason Chambers. It as less than half an hour after Kym had posted that “I’m so happy” tweet that you get a
“hello young lady” tweet from Jason. Then okay, if this is just because they did a work-out video why isn’t Kym following him back? It makes you think she wants to keep the partnership on the downlow before the announcement.
Whatever they do, just don’t put Maks with Bristol.
My wife and I have watched and enjoyed every season, but if they put any of those jersey shore idiots on we will not watch it ever again. I hope they don’t do it because they will lose a huge market share.
It’s been a long week. Honestly in season 11 I hope we get some great and exciting dancing that we can watch more than once, some truly wonderful surprises, and at least one balls-out, off the cliff at high speed train wreck that we may or may not be able to watch again.
I hope that Maks’ gets Bristol. Drama’s a bitch after his actions and behaviors last season (Erin was part of it too) He’s freaking annoying and I’m hoping Bristol drives him nuts.

I’ve noticed that Kym Johnson’s Facebook updates seem to coincide with her being on the East Coast today… saying she’s had a long day, but is “good delirious”. Maybe Kym + “The Situation”? Ugh.

Rob, I wouldn’t worry too much about The Situation being on the show…. Yes, they might just cast him, or one of the other from “that show,” but…. Not really sure how long he’s going to last. Honestly. I saw the CMT awards back in June, and he and Snooki were both on as presenters. I honestly felt sorry for poor Paula Deen, who had to be there on stage with both of them. From what I’ve seen, both the scripted on stage stuff, and the unscripted off stage stuff, he’s got an INCREDIBLE attitude problem, and I don’t think it’s going to take much of it to turn off the viewing (and voting) public. Yes, he’s got abs, but he needs more than that to make it far on the show. If Gilles Marini had acted more like The Situation, I don’t think he could have gone as far as he did. He was humble, and respectful, and didn’t think he was the “best thing ever,” with attitude to match…
However, he could be a real surprise, like others that people have thought would be the worst thing ever, and we may see that he really COULD be a real human being… (he COULD! right?)
Voguerista, do you really see Cheryl with Rick Fox? According to info on the web, he’s 6′ 7″. Seems like he would get paired up with one of the taller women (Edyta, Kym, or maybe Anna T.). Also, Hasselhoff is 6′ 4″, so he would need a pretty tall partner as well.
If Derek is paired with Jennifer, I think it will be a sweet pairing. He has that same fun and dorky personality as Patrick Swayze and is a phenomenal performer and teacher, which I’m sure she will appreciate and love. They will get along just fine!
I think having her on DWTS is what the show is all about. It will be great for her career and I’m sure it will be an honor for Derek, pretty cool.
I can just hear Derek saying “Nobody puts Baby in a corner”-LOL
Yeah, I do….just something about their look and chemistry. Plus, it wouldnt be the first time Cheryl has been paired with a big guy.
Tony definitely has Audrina. His wife just opened a twitter acc and is following her as well.
Edyta will have one of the tall guys. Rick or the Hoff.
Maks might have Brandy.

Weird but I can’t see Maks with Brandy. I’m thinking he has Bristol and Mark has Brandy. Even though she is pretty tall. Imean Damian was shorter than Pamela by an inch or two and they worked out ok. Bristol is hoping to be paired with Maks, would not surprise me.
Kate wanted to be paired with Maks too. It doesn’t mean anything. Bristol is only 18, 19? It will odd to pair her with someone older at that age. Bristol and Mark makes more sense. Brandy and Maks are fine height wise. It just seems odd he would get Brandy instead of Tony. Maks already went to the finals last season. Brandy seems like the one to be the better dancer so Tony/Brandy and Maks/Audrina make more sense.
Kym and David is disappointing. I was hoping for her to get Kurt. Maybe that means Chelsie got Kurt? If Karina has The Situation, who are they going to pair Lacey with? She is a lot to handle for a partner.

I agree height wise Maks/Brandh are a perfect match. I hope he’s not mean to her though, she’s not like Erin and I think she will require a little more attention. Brandy is definitely not a dancer.
Anyway, looking forward to the new season.
What do you mean regarding finding out their partners today? Having the first on-camera, in-person meeting? or just the show telling them who they are paired with?
I think people are leaving out Ali and Roberto, when at least one of them is on. Why else would they announce it during Bachelor Pad? I think both of them are cast personally… they have been in LA for no reason at all (when they live in San Diego). I see Lacey paired with Roberto and Louis paired with Ali.
I don’t know if Ali is cast, but I have a suspicion Roberto might be.
Frankly, I don’t randomly include people even if I think they might be on the show. I reported on Ali being on the show a long time ago on this site, but nothing I’ve heard since then indicates she’s on – she straight up said on camera that they weren’t asked to be on. Maybe she’s a good liar – but I’ll wait for Monday on that one.
Andie – Roberto on his own would be fine, but I don’t like the gimmick of both of them. Plus neither will win because the Bachelor fans will be splitting the votes between them.
Overall, though, I don’t really consider these reality show people “stars” if their only talent is finding a mate or GTL. At least the pros on DWTS are professional dancers and damn good at it – they’re bigger stars than these reality people. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ali and Roberto both – but I don’t like the precedent that Melissa started and Jake continued. Try going OUT of your own back yard, ABC.
Yeah, I realize the vote split if they had both Ali and Roberto on the show.
My gut tells me he took a few meetings this week in LA, They were there to pick up some pre-emmy stuff. In one instance they’re together, his hair is a little different than normal, seems a stylist was at him, and then in another she’s only in the publicity pics.
I think Roberto would be excellent for the show, I think he can really dance, he’s game for anything and doesn’t seem to complain, like most athletes. I also have the sense that he’ll take the gig seriously, but won’t be devastated if he goes home. He’s pretty new and shows more of a work ethic than an ego so far.
I know that ABC goes to their backyard a lot. Every sports figure that’s appeared on the show is signed to ESPN, Every Sabrian Bryan has a Disney contract. It’s just how it goes.
Roberto on the Bachelorette, I thought was being “Groomed” for DWTS. From his Salsa dancing, to being cast in Lion King, this the guy is pretty relaxed on camera. He’s a new face and both he and Ali seemed to be on the same page in terms of partnering in the promotions business…she wears vintage State Farm t-shirts to promote him, he does the fiance thing….they’re in People mag every day. They are facing the same direction together, unlike Jake and Vienna who fought over camera time.
Everything they are doing now to promote the Bachelorette/Franchise, from “gettyimages” hired to snap them golf or shop in San Diego feels like a lead up to a package on dwts.
A lead up to a package on DWTS….or a big, splashy ABC Wedding.
I wouldn’t complain too much, I guess. Jake always struck me as so fake, but I don’t get that feeling from either of these two.
A big splashy wedding will happen for sure. But they have some contractual obligations to fulfill promoting the Bachelorette franchise until then. They are talking Spring, perfect for May sweeps. DWTS is a great way to keep the promotions going.
If they go as a two-fer, I can see Roberto competiting and Ali doing commentary for ET or Access Hollywood, that’s definitely something that interests her. And for me this couple is the most likable of any of the Bachelor/ettes that have been on.
Roberto and salsa – did I read somewhere that he teaches salsa dancing … or that he took lessons ? Wouldn’t that DQ him from DWTS ?
Linde, Roberto’s Salsa dances, it’s in his blood..his entire family Salsa dances they’re Puerto Rican…it’s more street than studio, very authentic. He definitely knows what he’s doing. I really enjoy watching it.
But, it’s the only type of dancing he says he knows. Standard Ballroom would be a significant challenge for him to turn off the “street” latin.
JWe will not be able to make all the required rehearsals in September.
Regarding Kym Johnson, she always keeps her lips sealed before the pairings are announced. She’s quite a professional and I think she’s pretty careful about spilling the beans on her partners and even whether or not she is back. I follow Kym on twitter and on facebook and I agree about the time difference. I have no idea what’s going on. I do know that possibly if she is back, David Hasselhoff is her partner because the of the time she was writing in her facebook and I thought the time she was typing there was pretty odd and another time, she said she couldn’t sleep when most people in L.A. are still up!
I don’t know about Rick Fox except he’s probably been in L.A. the entire time.
Kurt Warner lives in Phoenix and is about the same time zone as L.A.
The reason why I mentioned Rick, Kurt and David is because it’s rumored that she’s with one of them and my best guess is she is partnered with David because of the time zone and where David is and she’s very excited and happy. David is a great guy and has a huge following. I think it’s possible that Kym is partnered with David but I don’t know.
Kym has been acting very happy lately and as of yesterday, she was on a plane very late in L.A. time, I believe it was that time. I wanted to think that she was probably visiting again in Australia, her home country but it was broad daylight in Australia when she said she couldn’t sleep. So I don’t think she was in L.A. or Australia when she was posting.
As for why she isn’t following Justin Chambers… well, like I said she’s always very hush-hush about who her partner is and whether or not she is back so she probably did the smart thing and figured that if people saw her following Justin and Justin was saying hi to her, then that will give away the fact that Kym is back and she is with Justin this season. I’m not saying she is, though! I have no idea how they know each other but I think she’s being very careful.
Liz – I’ve noticed that Kym Johnson is extremely professional, which is one of the reasons I really like her.
