Did someone within the last four seasons also Paso to “So What”? I had a strong sense of deja vu…

      bardic_lady,
I’ll defer that question to Marianya. She keeps track of all the repeats. Seems like it’s about time to have a repeat music post. I know she’s busy, but I’ll have her check her list.

I think Melissa and Tony Paso’d to “So What”. Not 100% but pretty sure. I seem to remember her growling lol.

    4. # Figamentation commented on October 25th, 2010:

Maybe Julianne did once too – either with Cody or someone she didn’t win with (so Chuck?) But I think Cody.

I guess Google is your friend, because Shawn/Gilles and Melissa danced the Paso to it in the final Paso Off.

Thanks John! I loved all the songs this week….the Adam Lambert and ZZ top songs being my faves!!

Hated it. Really bad dancing comes from totally inappropriate music.

    8. # Princess Heidi commented on October 26th, 2010:

David!! That probably sums up, in a nutshell, my problem with last night. “Really bad dancing comes from totally inappropriate music.” Amen.

Okay, “You Really Got Me”You Really Got Me - The Kinks Choral Collection (Special Edition) is NOT by Van Halen You Really Got Me - The Best of Both Worlds.
They did a cover of it, but it’s not their fricking song.

To what what ive seen on Youtube. Last night looked awesome!

Too many themed nights can be too boring and tiresome. I loved last night but didn’t like tv theme week.

    12. # Howard commented on October 26th, 2010:

Last night was so much better than acoustic night. I was expecting to see all like KISS and Queen and other 70s/80s rock songs, but was very surprised and enjoyed them using Pink and Orianthi.
I am getting sick of the singers butchering songs. I think it may be time for the orchestra to go and just use a boom box. It may actually sound better in the long run.

David and Heidi! You rock! Ditto to “Hated it.”Imagine what great dancing might’ve happened with the appropriate music. If the producers want a rock night, have the pros dance to a great rock number…that I might’ve enjoyed.

Thoughts for next week’s songs based on nothing other than who the guest judges are and what dances the couples have (though I am guessing the latter for Kyle and Jen as well). It’s fun to guess when you only have half (or less) of the information — maybe I’ll get half (or less) right! :-D

Brandy/Maks: Foxtrot to Helio’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” Ain't That a Kick In the Head - Dino - The Essential Dean Martin
Rick/Cheryl: Quickstep to Kelly O’s “99 Red Balloons” 99 Red Balloons - Stomping Ground
Jennifer/Derek: Waltz to Gilles’ “Come Away With Me” Come Away With Me - Come Away With Me
Kyle/Lacey: Samba to Emmitt’s “Sir Duke” Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder: The Definitive Collection
Bristol/Mark: V. waltz to Mel B’s “Somebody to Love” Somebody to Love - Queen: Greatest Hits
Kurt/Anna: Tango to Drew’s “Shut Up” Shut Up - Elephunk

      mmc,
I should have thought of that first. It will be interesting to see how many you get right.

    16. # Andie commented on October 29th, 2010:

Ray Davies is pissed. You Really Got Me is his song performed by his band the Kinks

    17. # John commented on October 29th, 2010:

Sorry Ray. I’ve updated the posts.

    18. # mmc commented on October 30th, 2010:

Geez, John. Did you see that I’m already off by 2 on my guesses? Maks said they are doing their foxtrot to Gilles/Cheryl’s’ song (“Fever”). That means that I (at least) got Derek/Jennifer wrong too. Thought for sure they’d use one of Gilles’ “30″ dances. Oh well, back to the drawing board… LOL

    19. # Princess Heidi commented on October 30th, 2010:

I don’t think I’ve even heard what Derek and Jennifer are dancing, mmc, so you’re ahead of me. I have everyone except Kyle and Jennifer.

    20. # John commented on October 30th, 2010:

      mmc,
I hadn’t seen that. It’s alright. It’s hard to predict what the crazy DWTS producers will do.

    21. # mmc commented on October 30th, 2010:

Heidi, I’m just guessing on dance for Kyle and Jennifer as well. I could give a whole long explanation on my rationale, but it probably wouldn’t be interesting to anyone but me. I’m just a geek when it comes to numbers and other types of data. :-)

    22. # Princess Heidi commented on October 30th, 2010:

If you’re a geek, you’re in good company here, mmc. :-) What are your guesses for Jennifer and Kyle?

    23. # mmc commented on October 31st, 2010:

Assuming that TPTB want to leave each couple with 2 ballroom and 2 latin just in case (for weeks 8-9):

Jennifer = waltz: She also hasn’t done quickstep and tango, but other couples are already doing those.

Kyle = paso: Unlikely he’d get samba along with the group cha-cha, and none of the guest judges really had a great jive (highest score was 27).

    24. # Princess Heidi commented on October 31st, 2010:

Well, mmc, that seems pretty reasonable to me. I can’t believe Derek, Lacey or Kyle haven’t tweeted their dance yet. Derek never tweets his order, but he usually puts the dance out there. I hope Jen does have the waltz as I think that will favor her. Kyle and the Paso – I don’t see that as a strength or either him OR Lacey.

    25. # mmc commented on October 31st, 2010:

Per the ABC website, the dances are foxtrot, quickstep, V. waltz, tango, and paso. But out of those, I can’t figure out the Emmitt dance for the life of me. None were standout dances for him.

    26. # pegalicious commented on November 2nd, 2010:

anyone know the song the used in the little video they used for Kurt’s little ‘behind the scenes’ a couple of weeks ago in the results show?
