Dancing with the Stars Instant Choreography Music Week
Time for the list of music from tonight’s Instant Choreography dance week on DWTS. What did people think of the idea that they had to dance to music without any planning? Was it a good idea or a bad one? Do you want them to do it again?

I just think it’s strange Mark danced all his life and didn’t know “Mas que Nada” that is a very common song to dance latin samba…
Exactly. Either he’s just the kind of person who can’t remember the names of things, or he was faking it for some reason.
Jennifer and Derek were awesome!
Seriously, I can’t believe Jennifer had never heard “Waiting for a Girl Like You”
I thought it was Great that Maks knew “Teenage Dream” and looked totally embarrassed when he admitted it.
Yeah, LisaC, that is odd – she’s the right age for that to have been really popular when she was in her….20′s?? I’m actually surprised Derek didn’t know it either since he usually does know the old songs.
I’m sure that once it started playing, she recognized it. I knew what it was, but didn’t quite believe it when I heard it, since I didn’t think it would be a good song to dance to. Guess I was wrong!
I was rather surprised that no one had really heard their song before. Do the pros and the stars really not listen to popular music?
Well, I really have to wonder if that was not a “staged” response. You know, in case they blew the dance. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the producers put them up to it. Derek is a musician so surely he’s heard of the Foreigner song. And Mark must have known his song after all those years of competition. And wouldn’t Brandy being a singer also know a recent Katy Perry song???
Way to Go, Bristol and Mark! Your tango last night was just magnificent. Wow!
It’s been a joy this season to get to watch a regular person, a “non-performer” grow into a increasingly competent dancer and capable entertainer.
Mark, you are a prince and thank you for always “bringing it” every season.
Colleen
I can honestly say I loved all the songs last night and couples did great with them for the most part. My fave song was Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. I loved the whole night and all the dances except for Bristol and Mark.
Why are you hating on Bristol and Mark, Vogue? Ok, she’s not the best dancer, but I must admit that I enjoy having someone like Bristol on the show that’s just terrible at the beginning and gets better over time.
Yea whatup with no body knowing these songs??? What rock have they all been living under??!! I live in the south and never even danced and i knew Mas Que Nada, unless he just forgot. And if he forgot the name of the song and his dance steps he needs a brain scan. Or maybe hes just on crack.
Btw, He = Mark Ballas in that last post. Sorry
John, I’m not “hating” on Bristol. I just didn’t like her dancing last night. She was so stiff all over and she took some steps back from the last two weeks imo. But, do I actually “hate” her or anyone? No.
Vogue,
“hating on” is very different than “hating.” “hating on” doesn’t usually mean you hate them, but that you hate something about them (ie. her dancing last night). I’m so young and hip, aren’t I? lol
lol Oh ok. I see what you mean. Well, I guess you could say I’m officially “hating on” them. lol *runs*
Nice!!
Don’t you hate when work gets in the way of blogging? I guess that’s why I made my work my blogging.
Now that I’m at home I can comment more calm. =]
Courtney I agree with you almost 100%. Just wanna say that I liked “Hella good” to chacha, as Krist mambo to “Hey Baby”. And I’m optimist that finally football fans will beat the republicans crew (=p Kiddin’).
I really do think that Kurt will stay. I’m still worried with Kyle and hope people voted for him. Want to see him in the finale.
About instant dance (and ridiculous Maksim reaction)… I really thought that it could be worst. It was good. And stopped the gimmics, actually. (hope producers don’t trow anything on couples, just let them dance next week. Don’t wanna see even the decade themed dances…)
I like watch people improving too, John (and loved watching Kelly O. – despite I prefered see Joanna on finals).
just don’t think Bristol is that good enough and she doesn’t deserve to reach the semi finals. IMO.
About Bristol’s a. tango… I just don’t like the dace bc it was just a ballroom tango sold as argentinian (and a lot of pros do this faking).
The only pros that really incorporate a. tango steps are Maksim, Cheryl (specially this season… SHE danced amazingly), Karina, Dmitry and Louis.
Other pros just use ballroom tango and incorporate moves in a way that it goes like “argentine”. In this, Derek is a master. Love his A.Tango choreographies. Anna does good and so Kym.
John, YESSSS! Thank goodness I’m home and back with you all now.
shewwwww
Wonder what the football lovin republicans will do! LOL! Thats me so I was torn, but I truley do think Bristol’s a better dancer so she had my vote.
I think most people choose religion over politics. So, I’m guessing that most “football lovin republicans” will go for football.
Lol…you hit the nail on the head with that one, John! I’m a football-lovin’ republican from the midwest, and I gave Kurt all my votes
And I have never voted for Bristol…just due to the fact that I don’t think she’s as entertaining as some of the other couples.
Indeed, for many, football IS a religion. LOL
LOOOOOOL, GUYS!!!
