DWTS Season 11, Week 9 Begins – Who are the Las Vegas Favorites?
The betting odds favorites received a total shake-up for the last two weeks in a row. The questions is: What will happen this week?
Here are the odds from On-line Betting Guide;
Jennifer Grey 1.57
Brandy 3
Bristol Palin 10
Kyle Massey 17
Here are the numbers for what Viscosimedia’s is reporting;
The final four remaining celebrity dancers will battle for the mirror ball trophy starting on the Dancing with the Stars Finale for Season 11 on Monday, November 15th. Early DWTS betting favorites Brandy 2/1 and Jennifer Grey 4/7 are still predicted to walk away with the title. The other two finalist feature somewhat of a surprise with Disney star from “That’s So Raven” fame Kyle Massey 10/1 and political star Bristol Palin 15/2 from “Almost Vice-Presidential Daughter” fame as longshots in Dancing with the Stars odds for the season 11 finale.
In what some people are calling the most important contribution of the “Tea Party” this year, Bristol Palin fans have somehow overwhelmed the voting booths of DWTS and have recharged their faith by landing Palin and partner Mark Ballas in the finale despite having only 47-points. Can “Palin Nation” help daughter reach the plateau of celebrity dancing? Will the favored musician and movie star win as favorites? Or will the teenage work horse upset them all? Bet on DWTS season 11 odds with a 10% deposit for Brandy 2/1 and Jennifer Grey 4/7 as favorites or Massey 10/1 and Bristol Palin 15/2 as longshots.

This is random, but I thought this was a pretty good Tom Bergeron interview-he addresses his hosting style, and gets pretty passionate about the Bristol situation. It also seems like he likes Jennifer a whole lot

Thank you, Sheri, for the link!
I’ve been reading puredwts since the start of the season, and I think it’s great. All of the bloggers here do a fantastic job. I do wish all of the “Tea Party conspiracies” around Bristol would stop, though. I’ve said in the comments many times that I think Bristol should have gone home by now. I think that Audrina and Kurt are better dancers, and that would make for a more entertaining show for me. But I haven’t mentioned, before now, that I’m a Tea Party supporter. My point is that this is a dancing show – for me, it has everything to do with entertainment, and nothing to do with politics. As Heidi says, let’s all vote like crazy for our favorites (I’ll be voting for Jennifer and Derek) and “Let the mirror ball fall where it may”…
You’re welcome Sally
I agree. I’m actually a left winger (in Canada-haha, no Dems or Reps or Tea Partiers here-just NDP, Liberals, and Conservatives)-but I actually liked Bristol in the beginning of the season. I thought she was brave to come out on a reality show and dance-but at this point, she’s failed at capturing my interest as a dancer.
I too will be using all my votes for Jennifer and Derek. They deserve to be in the finals.
Sally, thank for your kind words – it’s nice to know that people are appreciating what we do.
I will try to remember what you said at 11 tonight when I’m desperately wracking my brain over the power rankings – who told Courtney it was okay to go on vacation?? I like numbers – not power rankings!!
Well, at least there are only four of them…
As for the Tea Party thing – that’s just a generalization, really, as many of these things are. You have to admit that a lot of her support is coming from that quarter, but it’s by no means 100%. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy – I think it’s a voting group like any other voting group. Like Donny Osmond had a huge voting bloc of women of a certain age who swooned over Puppy Love when they were kids. Same thing, different name.
We agree on that, Heidi. Thanks again for all of your GREAT WORK on this blog!!!!
As for that Donny Osmond comment, I’m not old. I’m not even 30 and not only older women were voting for him.
Heidi I agree with Sally! I only found this site this season but its just so awesome!! I know its hard work too. From the Numbers post to the power rankings to the CHEESECAKE! Its all awesome and your and all the bloggers work is VERY appreciated.
Why does this show keep showing Sarah Palin and having her comment when it is suppose to be about the contestants. Is she the contestant or Bristol her daughter? Whenever they talk to Bristol they go to Sarah Palin sitting in the rehearsal room or making comments like one of the contestants. This has never been done before. I am sick and tired of these Republicans using every means necessary to promote this woman and her family on the American people. If Brandi or Jennifer does not win this contest, my frineds and I have decided to never watch this show again. I am appalled at the measures this show will go for ratings.
Dws is so fixed ,bristol palin is so stiff as a board and she
looks like she got another bun in the oven. adding to the tea party population.
Strangest night ever on DwtS history!
Everybody was overscored.
Bristol get the best score of season for a paso (also Brandy’s no-skirt one). Really was that the best?
Kyle’s tango… what was that?
very annoying. really.
I have to say, I think the dance most OVER-SCORED was Kyle’s AT. There were a couple of chunks of time where he just stood there, and Lacey dances around him. No way that was worth a 29!
I truly believe I over-rated DWTS but I have come to realize that the votes are just as fixed as American Idol. They tell you that you have 5 times to vote when in reality you only get 2 if you are lucky. I tried putting my 5 votes through only to find out 3 of the 5 will not go through and they are counted aganist you calls. When I tried calling it tells me the call cannot go through and it counts aganist you. I hope one day they find a way to make people honest even in a show like this. If you want to rig it up just have the person you want on television and stop making a fool out of the rest of the stars. I am only one person and my opinion may not matter but I long to see the day your ratings drop just like American Idol did. JUST STOP THE MADNESS! I really gave this show the host and the judges to much credit.
I’m afraid Bristol makes to the finals!!!!!!!!!!
Everything is REALLY weird this season!!!!!!
Run to the hills!!!!!!
Sally I agree with you about Kyle’s AT being over scored. I wondered at the time if they would penalize him for that. Nope!
And to ray (comment #9) — If Bristol does have “another bun in the oven.adding to the tea party population.”, we’ll welcome the new future voter with open arms!!!
bristol was oversocred during all the season, so, tonight judges decided to do the same to all couples… IMO
I think Jennifer deserved her scores tonight. I thought Bristol should have just gotten 8s for her waltz. I already commented on Kyle. Brandy was about right I think.
I can’t vote… =/
Carlos, I agree with you (comment #17) that the judge’s scoring has been loopy all season long. I was just flabbergasted when the “10″ paddles came out for a guy that more or less just stood there. I guess it was just way more obvious to me tonight…
I have been trying to vote all night and can not get through…..message is both can not complete as dialed and your call did not go through….I tried both Jennifer Grays number and Kyle’s # and got the same response…
Carlos, where do you watch the show? I had problems with online watching today so I’m wondering is it somewhere online..
Voting has been really tough to do tonight. Not only online but phones. I managed to get the phone votes in, but its taking me forever to vote online. urgh.
I can’t vote tonight either, not by phone nor online.
Jennifer was FANTASTIC tonight! She deserved her scores on both dances. Every time we watch her dance, I have to remind myself that she’s as old as my Mom and only 2 years younger than my husband’s Mom. What an amazing woman!
GUYS, for those having trouble getting through to vote, KEEP VOTE! DON’T GIVE UP!!! If you are having trouble at Abc.com, don’t give up there either. Keep trying as you can vote there until tomorrow at 11:00am ET I think.
Gawd, *diessss*, what a night. Get your reviews ready for the Power Ranking thread.
Oops; Vote=VOTING!
Keep trying on the voting, folks – it has improved tremendously in the last few minutes.
Vogue, the phone message said voting was closed in my time zone 2 minutes after the show ended. There’s some serious glitch going on with ABC’s phone lines.
Voting was esspecialy hard tonight.
That’s a shame Carlie. I’m sorry. Keep trying online!!
Fabril Greene…Your comment is really ridiculous. First, let me point out, I am a Democrat. As far as commenting on how the camera pans to Sarah all the time, the camera also pans to Kyle’s Mother and brother when he is dancing, or they are referring to him. The camera pans to Brandy’s Mother while Brandy is dancing, and to Jennifer’s Husband and Jamie Lee Curtis while Jennifer is dancing. I assume that you just do not recognize them.
This is the first time I have watched DWTS. My observation has been that the middle judge is about as far and accurate as it gets. The woman is a joke. I think she scores based on her favorites, tonight was a perfect example. Did you notice the middle judges face when she commented on Bristol’s last dance and her score of 8?
I completely agree with most comments regarding Kyle…His arms are never straight, he makes the weirdest facial expressions, which the judges critcized Cho for earlier in the season.
Just wanted to comment and give a thumbs up to Bristol….so many mean spirited comments being thrown at her, which she does not deserve. She is not running for office….and she is what, 17, 18?? I think some people need to take a look deep inside themselves…..
But Kyle is just so much fun! He is fun but he is no where near as good as the judges make him out to be. He is popular so maybe that is why the show is giving him higher scores. Jennifer and Brandy are better dancers and either deserves to win.
sasa, call me at twitter @caslusfilho or send me your user and I send you the on line live link =]
Carlos, thank so much but I’m not on Twitter. And since the show is so late for me today I’m thinking it would be very wise to not watch it live. Although my fingers itch with the thought of watching. I dunno. If you have a link you can post here please do. I watched it on channelsurfing.net so far, but yesterday they cut me off.
I agree with Sally that Dancing with the Stars is entertainment, not politics. I just hope those Tea Party loyalists would think twice before casting their votes. Bristol is not a star and she can’t dance. The final scores should really be based on the dancers’ accumulated scores given by the judges from day one of the competition, plus a percentage from the viewers’ vote.
It’s about time that the judges sit down together and decide a better way for really giving that Mirror Ball Trophy to the deserving
contestant, not to someone who has a greater fun base.
