DWTS Awards: Nice Guys and Emotionally Charged
Of all the “nice guys” on the show this season, who was the most charming?
Other answers:
Derek Hough 2
mark ballas 2
Corky Ballas 1
Mark Ballas is the best 1
Mark Ballas 1
derek 1
Voguerista: I had trouble picking between Kyle and Kurt. I see everyone else did too.
Courtney: I think in the end Kyle ended up charming viewers with his youthful energy, and the fact that he was around the longest probably made him more memorable in their minds. Kurt & Rick’s charm came more from their peaceful, grateful approach to being on the show – and the former interacting with his kids was totally endearing to me. As for the Sitch – he was just a lovable dork 🙂 I agree that Derek was charming this season, but I think he was the same as he was any other season; as for Mark…erm, did you guys see some of his backstage & red carpet interviews? I don’t know that he was necessarily charming in them. 🙁
John: Ok, based on the other answers, I guess we should have clarified that the pros don’t count in this award. Although, that’s an interesting idea for a future one.
Which routine was the most emotionally-charged on DWTS season 11?
Voguerista: I had a hard time choosing between the top winning three in this poll. Each was so good and commendable. But, in the end, I gave it to Jennifer and Derek because they literally brought tears to my eyes by the end of it. I don’t remember in any Season of DWTS getting that choked up. That’s when you know dancing has just hit new heights. I love that.
Courtney: I agree with everything Vogue said – each of these dances seemed to really get the celebs emotionally invested in them (which is why I chose them as the contenders), but in the end I think Jennifer’s Viennese waltz had the right combination of vulnerability, honesty, and good dancing. As for some of the “other” choices – I actually did contemplate putting Brandy & Maks’ waltz as an option, but then I remembered a lot of people thinking it was a little over-the-top and melodramatic, so it may not have fared so well in this category…I chose their rumba because it seemed a bit more natural in terms of emotion. I also actually considered Bristol & Mark’s waltz too, but decided against it because I felt like the drama of it came more from the music & lighting than it did from Bristol conveying any sort of emotion in it – and I believe Carrie Ann actually said something about that as well.
John: There were a bunch of Bristol related other answers. Not enough to dent the results, but that was a different meaning for emotionally charged than what we intended I think. Although, I know some of our male readers loved her. Emotion is a funny thing.

I think Mark Ballas is definitely the sweetest! He’s so nice and always a great guy to everyone around him. You should definitely check him out what he does on his time off from DWTS at his Facebook Music page: http://www.facebook.com/markballasmusic. He is so talented and an incredible musician and dancer. Definitely check him out. His single #HurtLoveBox comes out today and his new cd comes out soon! Plus, he’s on tour now 🙂
Megan,
I think most of us know all about what Mark is up to.
I must admit that Mark is an interesting character. He has people that absolutely love him and people who absolutely hate him. Although, I’m somewhere in the middle ground.
That said, when I met Mark he was super nice. I do understand people’s complaints that sometimes he promotes himself a little bit too much. Although, when you’re in the spotlight and you’re trying to sell and build your brand, it’s hard to strike the right balance on that.
Either way, it looks like he’s having some success. He certainly loves music.
Ok, since some of you might not have seen my comment on the other thread, I am going to repeat: any more comments plugging Mark’s album or linking to his facebook page (or any other page promoting him, for that matter) are going to be considered spam and will be deleted. We know Mark is great. We know Mark makes music. We know where to go if we want to hear his music. We do not need to be reminded. That is all 🙂
please give vienna girardi a chance she really loves to dance please find it in your heart to forgive and put her on dwts please let all that hatred go of her
gabi,
I’m not sure who has hatred for gabi, but I don’t. I really liked Vienna. She was great television I thought. The only problem with her being on DWTS is that she’s not really a star anymore. I think it’s reasonable to consider if any of the people on Bachelor are really stars, but Vienna wasn’t even the Bachelorette. Plus, it was a couple seasons ago (I forget how many now). I bet her time in the spotlight was too short for her to make it on DWTS. Unless she somehow gets famous on another reality TV show or something like that. Then, they could consider her.
What I cannot stand about Mark is when he is self-promoting, he pimps others to get attention, instead of relying on his own talents, and he has plenty of his own talents.
