Pure DWTS – Off Season Media Updates
Well, let’s see. What have we got here today? Not much really since it’s the off season. But, hey if you are like me, all things count even if it’s a little scrap. lol
So, first of all, it’s Carrie Ann’s 43rd birthday today. So, be sure to send her a little birthday tweet if you get the chance.
Next, ThatsFit.com has a new interview up with Brooke. She looks amazing and has some great advise on how she keeps fit.
Mark Ballas has done a new photoshoot for “Regard Magazine“. Here is some behind the scenes footage of him singing and playing his guitar for the new issue.
Also, Mark was interviewed while in Pittsburg when he was recently performing in “Burn The Floor”. He talks about the benefits of dance and what it can bring to your life.
For all of you Derek lovers like myself and thanks to Heidi and Pure Derek Hough, here is a pic of Derek taken this past week in Cape Town, South Africa with Cheryl Cole. Last week, the tabloids made such a big deal over them having their first public kiss. You would have thought the world as we know it had come to an end and now they have Cheryl wanting his babies. lol Seriously, why won’t let they leave these two be in peace and let them date already? You wouldn’t think it would be that big of deal. And I think they are indeed good enough for each other despite what some tabloids and fans questioning it. I mean….shouldn’t that be up to them and not us anyway?
If any of you live or are in the vicinity of Panama City, Florida on Jan. 16th, you can see Anna and Jonathan perform in a new “Bravo” Showcase benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Here is more information from Panhandle Parade.

And is this picture not cute or what? This photo is of Peta and Damian celebrating New Years Eve together in Australia (check it out John. She’s got her blonde locks back. 😉 ). According to Peta’s facebook page, she will be in her homeland of Australia until February. She’s also posted that she won’t hear from DWTS until mid-February. I imagine this might be the case for all the dancers involved with the show?
This is a cool photo too. Maks posted this of himself, his brother Val, and his Dad on twitter over the holidays when they were in St. Maarten.
Ok, that is all for now. But, before wrapping this up, did any of you see Paula Abdul’s new “Live To Dance” show lastnight and did you like it? I didn’t think I’d like it. But, I found myself glued to it for the full two hours. They found some great talent and I loved the other two judges. Very well put together. Paula may just have a winner here?? Though none of these other dance shows will compare to “Dancing With The Stars”. 🙂
Love to All and have a super day or night when you read this!!

I hope Paula’s show is good, focusing on the liberating and joyful nature of self-expression, i.e. through dance, rather than phony realty TV tensions pouting, etc..Didn’t see the show, but liked what she said on the promos.
I like Paula’s new show. My favorite is Twitch, the group with all girls and one guy. I love all the kid acts, too. Esp the little latin dancers that are gf and bf! They were so funny!
On the whole, I really liked Lived to Dance – Heidi & I both agreed that one thing we really liked about it is that it doesn’t capitilize on the truly horrendous acts like AI or SYTYCD does – sometimes in the preliminary rounds of those shows, it feels like you see more of the so-horrible-it’s-embarassing acts than you do good ones. LTD isn’t like that – even the acts they showed that didn’t get 3 gold stars were still pretty good. And in true Paula style, the show actually seems uplifting – Paula, Kimberly & Travis (the two other judges) don’t seem like they’re out to crush anyone’s dreams (like I often feel is the case with some of the crueler SYTYCD judges, who seem to scoff and say “That was terrible. You will never make it as a dancer!”). All 3 seem to offer quite a bit of encouragement and constructive criticism. My only complaint is that the overall run of the show seems kinda short – they only held auditions in 2 cities, and only 18 acts are going through to the next round. I guess since this is the trial run of LTD (and it has to wrap before the regular prime time shows come back from hiatus), it has to be kinda short in duration, but still – I would have liked to have seen a few more cities hold auditions.
Enjoyed Live to Dance and all three of the judges. I wonder if this will be a winter replacement and become the next DWTS, which started as a summer replacement. Looking forward to the live show next week.
Vogue – thanks (again!) for doing all this leg work. You really do make it one-stop-shopping for all DWTS news. Your fans love you!
I, too, really liked LTD and agree with Courtney that the show needs a little tweeking. Hopefully, they’ll have an opportunity to do that in Season 2. Agree with more auditions from a more diverse regions, not just LA and NY – auditions on the first night, choosing 18 semifinals on the second night ?? Didn’t work so much for me. But I really loved many of the acts and look forward to seeing whichever 18 were picked for the next show (I’m keeping my fingers crossed for my favorites – I didn’t sit through the entire show last night so don’t know who was picked). I really liked the teen couple (he wants a relationship, she wants to focus only on dance), the ballet couple (White Tree Art Form, or something like that), and a good many of the younger contestants. Twitch is definitely on my top 18 list as well. I think this show might have legs (he he) and will be back for another season of its own. Didn’t DWTS start out as a summer replacement show?
I also like that each judge votes their own opinion without input from the other judges – no discussion, no calling each other out. Just vote based on what YOU think. Great concept. They seem to be a good panel, positive vibes all around. And yes, I too was very thankful that we didn’t have to sit through too many of the painful-to-watch auditions. It often seems like AI and SYTYCD exploit these poor souls for a raunchy laugh and ratings. Yes, these people came out and auditioned of their own free will – and I’m sure signed a waiver – but still …..
You are welcome Linde. Thank you so much and we love you too! 😉 xxx
I’m glad you guys are feeling the same on LTD as I am. 😉 It’s going to be a nice filler for DWTS during the off season. I loved all the group dances too. That first little boy was just outstanding as well. I get choked up over all of their story lines. I was glad the Solid Gold Dancers were let through. They were stiff. But, they just need to get in shape some more I think.
