DWTS – ABC Announces Official Premiere & Cast Announcement Dates

The stars, the drama, the glamour and the glitter are back on ABC! “Dancing with the Stars” returns for Season 12 on MONDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) with a sensational two-hour season premiere.
“Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” will premiere the following week on TUESDAY, MARCH 29 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) , on the ABC Television Network.
This season’s spectacular cast will be announced live on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28 during “The Bachelor.”

Oh boy, shoulda seen that one coming – gotta suffer through The Bachelor in order to hear the cast of DWTS. Thank goodness Heidi’s the one that does the live blog…
So we’re less than 4 weeks away from the cast announcement, which means that some of these names we’re hearing repeated could actually have some merit to them. The 2 months after a season wraps always seem to be just people speculating, which can make it hard to determine which rumors are legit and which are just crap. But it seems like the most “leaks” always happen during the month of the cast announcement. The more I hear Lorenzo’s name popping up, the more I’m convinced he’s a definite. So if he’s in, he could potentially fill multiple cast types: actor, reality tv star, soap star, and teen idol. Interesting.
Sorta excited. I haven’t been keeping track of the rumors other than know Derek won’t be there. So I’m looking forward to be surprised.
Exciting!! Sucks we have to watch the Bachelor to see the cast, but luckily I’m having friends over on that night so we can all suffer together Yay!! Can’t wait for this season. Shame Derek won’t be on, he’s by far my favorite pro, but hey, at least he said he’ll for sure be back in the fall. He also is going to be in a MOVIE so that’s a nice bounus
I’m glad to see that ABC knows how to get ratings for the bachelor lol.
hopefully nobody from the bachelor is competing in season 12. The last time we got stuck watching Jake Pavelka on the dance floor.
Why is their a one week break after the first performance show, to the results show?
I hope they have a better cast than last season.

Actually, the Bachelor won Monday night, from what I read. Hard to believe, I know.
And Mischa Barton falls into the category of “I want to be on the show” if I remember correctly. Of course, so did Kate Gosselin, so….
Well, the break from all things DWTS has been pretty nice after some of the strange and strained stuff last season. I’m ready again for a lot of dancing and only a little bit of drama (ha!). The next few weeks should be fun what with all the speculation. Looking forward to checking in here!

@Heidi, they got those great ratings by selling their soul to the devil – someone thought it would make good ratings (and I guess it worked) to have the group date at a Nascar track – especially since one of the girls was engaged to and had a child with a former Nascar driver – who died tragically in a plane crash – and that track was where he was in an accident that ended his career. Good times – good TV (not). March 21st can’t come soon enough….
Oh Sue, believe me – I’m not what you would call a fan of The Bachelor. Not even remotely. I do watch it – mainly to see how accurate Reality Steve is in spoiling the entire season even before it airs.
That’s good times. I also like to see the dirty laundry come out about each of the contestants (and the Bachelor). It’s a trainwreck sort of thing. 
Looks like I’m having a B-day party for the premiere. Not a bad b-day gift I’d say!

So excited!!! Guessing there will be 12 celebrites…but then there would have to be a double elim. So maybe they r going back to 11? I dont know but anyway im really excited except for having so waste an hour of my life watching The Bachelor to see like a 5 second clip of the cast at the end followed by Tom saying ” Well see ya March 21!! – insert spray tan joke here – ” and Brooke looking blankly off in to space ” Or a mirror “.
So hopefully there will be more signifigance to the cast reveal then last spring. Oh and I reeaallly hope Rachel Ray will dance!!!! Her and Tony would be a fun paring!
