Dancing with the Stars 2011 Pro Possibilities
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m ready for Dancing with the Stars 2011 to start already. I always think that the Spring season of Dancing with the Stars starts earlier than it does. While we wait, I (and the rest of the Pure DWTS peeps) have put together info on who the DWTS 2011 professional dancers might be and other conjecture. Also, be sure to check out the previously posted Dancing with the Stars season 12 cast rumors.
Alec Mazo – Alec hasn’t said much on Twitter about it, but I think it’s safe to say he won’t be back. I’m sad about this since if they brought him back, then Edyta would probably come back. I think very few will care if Alec’s back or not though, which is probably why the producers haven’t brought him back every season.
Anna Demidova – Sadly her Twitter updates have gone private. How weird is that? I could understand maybe have a private second account for real friends and family, but I’d think she’d want as much exposure as possible. Even if she only updated it with professional things. I’d say she’s out.
Anna Trebunskaya – I haven’t seen anything either way. However, she’s had a STRONG showing these past couple seasons. So much so that even I fell in love with her despite a pretty bad start. I’d say she’s definitely back. The show needs a feisty little red head with an accent anyway.
Ashly DelGrosso (Costa)
Well, that pretty much says it all. Ashly would like to be on the show, but she doesn’t know yet if she’ll be on DWTS 2011 or not. I predict that she will. She deserves a season with someone who can actually move.
Chelsie Hightower – No news so far, but can anyone imagine her not being on the show. I guess the only possibility would be if there were no short male celebrities. Although, a taller man with a shorter women isn’t as bad as the other way around. I’m sure Chelsie will be back. She did mention that she has a new boyfriend.
Cheryl Burke
As you can see @DWTSGossip says she is back. They seem to know Cheryl pretty well. I’d say if Cheryl wants on the show she’ll be back. So, I say she’s back. Nothing on her Twitter account, except she’s definitely trying to pull together some publicity for her book tour. It’s funny to see her Twitter name dropping through the previous DWTS casts. I guess that happens when you’ve been on DWTS that many seasons.
Corky Ballas – No word, but I’d say he’s probably a no. Unless, DWTS somehow convinced Betty White to be on the show. Now wouldn’t that be something.
Damian Whitewood – Word is that Peta (who could be a pro on DWTS 2011 as well) and Damian are on their way to LA. Now why would they need to be in LA I wonder? If they aren’t regular pros, then I’m sure we’ll continue to see them doing some pro dances for the results show.
Derek Hough – I think most people know that Derek is filming a movie Cobu 3D and won’t be on DWTS season 12. He did say he’d be back for DWTS season 13 and be “more edgier” and “musclier.” I wonder where Princess Heidi’s votes will go with Derek out.
Dmitry Chaplin – I’m not sure about Dmitry. He mentioned that he’s done some choreography work for SYTYCD Ukraine during the break. I could see it going either way with Dmitry.
Edyta Sliwinska – Word is she won’t be back. She’s busy at school and other dance events. I’m guessing it will take another season or two for her and the producers to cool off. If I didn’t have this blog, I’d stop watching until the producers put her back on. The Edyta eye candy is definitely missing from the show for me.
Elena Grinenko – She seems to be doing Grinya’s Entertainment full time now including this really cool Celebrity Dance Camp which I wish I could have attended. So, I wouldn’t expect her back. We would welcome her to guest post about DWTS on here though.
Jonathan Roberts – Jonathan will definitely be back doing at least a result show dance with Anna. As far as the show, I have no idea. There’s really nothing to hate about Jonathan, but he doesn’t have the enormous fan following either. So, I think he could go either way. I would have LOVED to see the following which he described in a tweet:
Julianne Hough – Julianne is off to Hong Kong with Derek. The real question is if she’ll ever be back on DWTS. I think it would be quite the achievement if the producers get her back, but I’m not betting on it. Julianne did get some amazing seats at the Super Bowl. So not fair. I bet she barely even knew which teams were plaing.
Karina Smirnoff
Well, looks like Karina’s learning dance moves from the UFC fight. Interesting that she says for this season. I’m sure it was a bit of a slip since I don’t think the producers have told anyone yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a long term contract and so she knows more or less that she’ll be back. Either way, the show loves a little Karina. Her facial expressions are priceless.
Kym Johnson
Kym’s back in LA too. Seems like all the pros are heading to LA. Coincidence? Maybe not. Would be odd for her to be the showpiece on HSN for the DWTS hair line and then not be on this season.
Lacey Schwimmer
Of course, Lacey could be talking about a lot of work or even the work that day. However, usually you clear off the DVR before work like being on DWTS when you’re too busy to go and watch your DVR’d shows. Although, I think that Lacey’s still on the bubble like last season where she wasn’t on the show and then something happened (presumably the Edyta fall out) which got her back on the show. I expect more of the same for her this year, but we’ll see.
Louis van Amstel
Looks like Louis doesn’t know. Although, it seems odd that he’d know about some changes for the show, but not whether he’s on the show or not. Any guesses on the changes?
Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Maks is a hard one to peg. Will he be stuck in the Ukraine doing Bachelor? I’m guessing not. Bachelor UK isn’t as big as being a pro on DWTS I don’t think. @LizzieGrubman asked if Maks would be back on Twitter and then the next day said Maks is back. I’m not sure if she knows anything special, but I’d be very surprised if Maks isn’t back. Some have asked about Maks’ brother on the show. I’d say maybe, but probably not.
Mark Ballas – Will he be too busy touring for his album to be on DWTS 2011? I’d guess probably not. There’s little publicity for his album that’s better than him being on DWTS. So, I expect he’ll be back and don’t be surprised if he performs on the results show. I bet that’s part of his contract negotiation now.
Tony Dovolani
@DWTSGossip says he’s back on DWTS 2011. Looking at the lineup of male pros. I think it’s safe to say that he’ll be back on the show.
Good times. There are my thoughts, conjecture and run down of the various Dancing with the Stars pros. What do you think? Which pros will be back on Dancing with the Stars 2011 and which ones will be watching from home?

Princess Heidi will be writing her snarky posts much quicker than in previous seasons and then going to bed.
And praying for the newly muscled Derek to do a Pro dance early in the season before shooting starts.
Ten pounds of muscle on that frame? I can’t hardly wait.
I think Mark and Maks will both be there unless there isn’t a partner for them – but I would put them higher on the list than Louis or Dmitry. But, sans Derek, Louis has a pretty good shot. Although, being the shortest guy is not always a good thing.
I should offer a prize of some sort if anyone manages to find video of this Hong Kong thing that Derek and Julianne are doing this week.
Alec Tweeted a while ago… oh, maybe sometime in December?… stating that he and Edyta would NEVER be back on DWTS in response to someone’s questioning Tweet, I suppose. Which of course, I can’t find now. I think there’s some really bad feelings there.
Evaine,
That makes me sad. I agree though that the bad feelings are pretty strong from what I can tell. So unfortunate!
Have to say I’d like to see new pros on show.
John, I just didn’t get what Karina’s face expressions are you talking about… =p
As you, I miss Edyta.
Well, considering 12, my pro wish list is:
Female
Chelsie
Lacey
Kym
Karina
Cheryl
Ashly or Anna T. or (New Pro)
Male
Mark
Dmitry
Damian
Louis
Johnatan or Fabian (remember him?)
(New pro)
Btw,
I’m tired of Tony choreographies and Maks drama and all that setimental thing from Louis – but like his coreographies.
Didn’t like the fact that Lacey did the same chachacha THREE TIMES last season. And the characters Cheryl choose to dance the A. Tango and the rumba (worst outfits).
Heard someone saying that Pasha could be on DwtS…
Carlos,
I saw a comment about Pasha and even Anya on DWTS. I personally am not for that. Although, they’ve generally been going on a downhill slope for me ever since their audition on SYTYCD.
I think that she really really loves Alec that cannot stand the fact that he’s not as good to be on DwtS… IMO
He’s a nice guy but… his last two partners were great and had a lot of potential. Certainly with another pro Toni Braxton and Natalie could go more far.
Wow, I didn’t realize Anna Demidova went private at Twitter. I would say she’s out too.
Evaine, that makes me sad about Edyta and Alec too.
Heidi, you keep cracking me up talking about Derek’s muscles. I can’t wait to see them too, LOL. I bet we will see him do some pro numbers as well. He’s not out of this picture in the least and for those thinking or hoping so, they better think again.
As for who I think is coming back for sure: Louis and Cheryl. I think Kymi s a go too. I can’t imagine them not signing Maks either. With Derek not doing the show, that would hurt ratings a lot.
I am so hoping Damian and Peta are going to do the show. It’s perfect timing to add some fresh faces. I will be in heaven with this news. You don’t know.
I think you summed everything up quite well, John
The only one I’m gonna disagree with you on is Ashly – I doubt she’ll be back this season, unless they have another “mature” guy to stick her with. Unfortunately I think she’s been “mommy-tracked” (Grey’s Anatomy, anyone?
) in the eyes of TPTB and they don’t see her as the same sexpot she was before having kids. The poor girl was downright G-rated with Buzz! Kinda unfortunate, since she was so sassy the first few seasons she was on…but who knows? Maybe we’ll luck into her doing some pro dances.
As for Edyta & Alec – no big suprises there. I had a feeling this split from the show was rather nasty, so I don’t see them coming back anytime soon. I’m gonna disagree with you somewhat about Edyta, Carlos – I don’t really think Edyta leaving the show had anything to do with Alec not being “good enough” to be on the show. I think it was a personal choice on Edyta’s part, as she just didn’t see herself growing the way she wanted to while on the show and needed to move on with her life. I think Alec is just being supportive of her decision, hence his not doing the show either.
I will be very pleasantly shocked if Anna D. gets summoned back this season, other than for some pro dances. She & her partner have been EXTREMELY successful on the professional competition circuit, and I don’t see her stopping that right now with all the momentum they’ve built up. Plus Anna’s older sister, Katusha, is the current World Standard Champion, so Anna’s got a lot to live up to! I wish her the best
On a side note, I have been able to see Anna’s tweets just fine…and she too has congratulated Derek on his movie
Both Anna’s are A-OK in my book!
Pasha & Anya = pure rumor. I can almost GUARANTEE it won’t happen, because they’re on contract with SYTYCD for another season as all-stars – I don’t see Nigel sharing them, even though the seasons of the shows don’t overlap. Plus, as we’ve said before, there are enough established pros waiting in the wings to fill in any vacancies…I don’t see TPTB shunning them in favor of more new blood.
Carlos, your head is burried in the sand if you don’t see that Maks is a major player on DWTS. The drama is manufactured by the idiot judges and producers.
LOL
well, Elizabeth you may be a Maks fan, but EVERY season he has a lot of drama. Since S03. And If the “drama scenes” doesn’t happen they would not be shown.
Even when it’s not necessary. I like him when he’s dancing and not talking. Btw, last a couple seasons his choreographies wasn’t that creative.
I can’t forget the way he reacted about judges comments. He’s a pro, cannot act like that. Even the judges are idiots and partial. IMO.
Again: Like him like a pro, but I’m tired of his overreacting.
Courtney, what I mean was that the producers didn’t call Alec because of his skills/fan base/ whatever, so this gets Edyta frustrated, you know? And she said “If he’s not good enough to be on DwtS, so am not I”
(I can see the scene LOL) =p
I very very much agree with those who want Damian back, and he needs to bring Peta right along with him.
My dream pro list:
Tony
Damian
Maks
Louis
Jonathan
Mark
Anna T
Cheryl
Chelsie
Peta
Kym
Karina
In that order. I really don’t like Dmitry very much and I can take or leave Lacey. I always hated Karina until last season. I don’t know what it was, but she grew on me. Maybe its the influence of this baseball player fiance of hers? She just seemed much more relaxed and well, nice.
Here is what I would do as the producer. Each series, one of our esteemed judges rotates in as a “guest” pro!!!!
Hey guys! long time not talk lol. My preferred list of pros would be:
Anna T.
Chelsie
Karina
Kym
Cheryl
Peta/Anya
Jonathan
Damian
Mark
Louis
Tony
Maks
In that order. They really need to give Jonathan someone that actually has talent and see how far he can go with that person. He’s only been paired up with people that are not well known, or not great dancers. While Tony has his fair share of older women, he’s also had a whole lot more opportunity with others to get far like Stacy, Melissa, Audrina, I’ll even admit Jane might’ve had a slight chance since I actually knew who she was and she was a decent dancer. I think Tony’s problem is his choreography is very dainty and too safe and doesn’t get the feeling/personality of the dance out of his partners. I also don’t think he’s as dynamic of a dancer as the others. Maks, I just think his choregraphy has been major misses for the past few seasons now. He also needs to know when to keep his mouth shut and be more humble, which is why I love Anna T. Anna never ever complains about who she gets as a partner and never gets upset if they get eliminated. She is grateful just to be able to teach them and is tough on her students, but can also invoke some fun into it.
I basically like all the female pros so it would be hard to lose one.
Personally, I would like to see the show go back to what they did during season 8. They had 13 couples and 11 weeks of competition instead of 10. 10 weeks always seems so short. Strictly Come Dancing does 12 to 14 weeks of competiton and it feels more like a completed journey at the finale unlike the finale with DWTS where it feels like “Didn’t this thing just start.”
I would also like to see more pro dancing that’s just focused on the pros instead of the pros dancing in front of the musical artists. These pros are extremely creative and I think it has been unwise of the producers not to use their talents for the results show. I certainly would enjoy the results show more if there were more pro dancing focused on the pros.
Or bring back more contestants from previous seasons to dance again during the results show. I know I wouldn’t complain if I saw Stacey Keibler, Mel B, Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini, Apollo Anton Ohno, or Evan Lysacheck, just to name a few, back dancing on that floor.
My last request would be to get rid of the tacky theme nights. They really don’t work that well, in my opinion, and the pros seem inhibited with their coreography rather than inspired.
So all in all, this is a post about the pros, I would like to see for season 12: Mark, Maks, Tony, Damian, Louis, and Jonathan for the guys and Kym, Karina, Chelsie, Peta, Anna T., Cheryl, and Ashley Costa for the gals.
Thanks for letting me share my opinion.
Here, here, Jake!! I fully agree on more pro dances! I love to watch them together. Maks dancing with Anna, and Mark and Chelsie are amongst my favorite pro pairings. I also like when the pros demonstrate the dances of the night, because being not so technically versed in all the different styles, as many viewers are not, I appreciate an idea of what I’m looking for, you know?
John,
Maybe Anna “un-protected her Twitter account, because it seems to be open now:
http://twitter.com/#!/AnnaDemidova
Nothing there about DWTS; but something about an injured ankle from Jan 25…
Completely agree with you Jake and Evaine: more weeks, more pro dances and less themed weeks.
Check out Maks at Twitter! He’s back in LA now!! (takes sigh of relief and hopes it means what I hope it means)
You and me both, Vogue!
*crosses digits*
Sally,
I think Anna must read this blog;-) I’m glad she opened it up. Her picture from her last competition is great!
The more pro dances the better for sure!
Amen, Jake – this has been my complaint for a few seasons now!! Why the hell do we have to see a constant stream of musical guests who often bring their own dancers?? Let’s see the pros dance!!!
Theme nights?? Seems like Derek was the only one that did consistently well with those, but I certainly don’t blame any of the other pros for getting stymied by them – they’re ridiculous. Add in that the producers have been picking the music and making some asinine choices and you have a bit of a choreography nightmare. Madness. I think the ONLY one I MIGHT keep is the acoustic thing – but make it acoustic for REAL – like when Derek and Chelsie did that Paso Doble.
Pro pairings?? Derek/Karina I found to be very, very interesting – wish we had seen more of it. We also had a bit of Derek with Anna that I also found interesting. For whatever reason, Derek and Mark always seem to end up with either Chelsie or Lacey – and Julianne when she was still around. All well and good, but let’s mix it up folks. Derek and Cheryl are also great together. And I always love Jonathan and Anna. Love.
As for making the season longer?? Last season seemed like it was about 3 weeks too long, frankly.
But that was a Bristol issue, more than a DWTS issue. The length of the season has to be approved by the network, I believe – maybe they have dates they have to meet for a particular reason.
I’m finding it a bit hard to get my excitement back about seaon 12 since Derek announced he won’t be competing.
Hopefully, they will offer a good cast.
I’d feel bad for not watching if the ratings dipped too much and that put the show in danger of getting cancelled. But, since it has done so well for ABC–I’d think that they’dtry to “revamp it” instead of just giving up on the show so quickly.
Need to give more thoughts to which pros that I think should reture before I post again.
But, I don’t see Maks taking the season off. He is a business man and if he isn’t on the show—his studios could suffer. Out of sight out of mind–for some.
During the early interviews, after getting the boot in season 11, Maks gave the immpression he wanted to quit. But, after he calmed down—so did his tune. IMO
Everyone I just had two ideas for cast members this season! Larry the Cable Guy or Chumlee from Pawn Stars. LOL They would be a hoot and bring some MUCH needed comedy relief ” Plus wouldnt it be fun to see Brooke interview Chum or Larry?? LOL “. It’d be a hoot.
Maks is a female fan favorite and I’m sure the producers know that, he should be back and I’ve heard he will be. Also he tweeted being in L.A. this week too.
Can’t remember – do we find out about the pros on Feb. 18 or the “stars” as well?
Meggie, the pros find out if they dance or not on the 18th (hopefully, they will let us know too). Then on the 28th during the Bachelor (and Puredwts has plans to have a blog thread going covering it LIVE, so stay tuned), the celebrities with their partners will be announced. Yay, not long to go now. Though I can’t believe we aren’t receiving more leaks yet. They are so tight lipped this Season.
Thanks, Vogue!
Yes, they’re very tight-lipped. Maybe they’re having trouble actually pinning down the celebs they want.
Are there any stats on which season, fall or winter, gets the “biggest” celebs? Are they more readily available in the fall?
I think that maybe last year was such a clusterf**k in terms of surprise announcements that this year they’re really clamping down on leaks. Because there were NO surprises in their official announcement last season. Honestly, there was no fun about the big reveal because we all knew beforehand.
They were very clamped down the last two seasons – then last season a couple days before the announcement, TMZ got the whole cast list and leaked it. This season is no different so far. As someone who works pretty hard to find the scoop, I would know.
They’ve been foiling me for a couple seasons now.
Pros on DWTS
Maks needs to grow the hell up and be thankful for what he has—including his special treatment. If he can’t do a good freestyle, then he needs to get some help. And he needs to choose someone who will create something that is in is his wheelbarrow. Suck up the pride and shut the hell up—prissy drama queen BS needs to end. He doesn’t deserve to win simply because he hasn’t so far . A dance couple should win on merit alone. This isn’t kindergarten. I’m sure that Maks will return next season, he wants to win, and I’m sure that he believes he stands a lot better chance of taking the trophy with Derek out of the way..
Tony can’t keep the pretty girls on the show. He needs to step it up in the choreography. Needs to get a clue and not be lap dog for his buddy. Yes man
Louis is a drama queen like max. He needs to grow up and do his job without making excuses or taking cheap shots at his competition. He also has to acknowledge his own mistakes, like the comic direction of his first dance with Cho, and stop trying to shift the blame onto his partners when that routine, like the first one wit isn’t well received. It is understandable that on occasion specific dances need to be tweaked a bit to accommodate a partner, like Kelly, who is uncomfortable with or unable to bring the sexiness and romance that is normal for that particular dance style. What isn’t understandable is when making those changes or tweaks becomes a patter or standard operating policy. He is being asked to create and PERFORM assigned routines with his celeb partners. In the past, his personal preferences haven’t seemed to factor into his PERFORMANCES with his celebrity partners. It just seems a bit too much of a consequence that all three of his most recent partners have been the ones to have had a problem showing their sexy and romantic sides in the performances.
Mark needs to take time off to pursue his musical aspirations. He’d be well advised to seek out some advice from experts in the music field. Is neglecting his real job to pursue his dream—still young—but needs to remember what his real job is . If the music thing doesn’t work out he needs to put his full efforts back into the show and just do music on the side when he has time—no more neglecting the job that pays the bills—not fair to bosses or partners.
Damien did well with Pam. Too much like Dmitry with the chest flashing. It gets boring when it is expected.
He is an attractive man.
Jonathan is the nice guy/everyman on the show. Perhaps doesn’t push celebs as hard as he should. I think that at times he comes off as a bit of a doormat with the big personality types? But Fabulous watching dance with his wife in Ballroom. He is weaker in Latin.
. Dmitry has zip for personality. He came off as if he was thinking that working with Holly was beneath him. NO connection to Mya at all. His choreography usually does zip for me. In the Pro dances he is not the best by far, and I am sick of him counting on getting attention by flashing his chest all the time.
Corky should be banned from this show forever! Doesn’t just go for over the top cheese—goes for the gross-out icky factor which demeans his partners—heck even Cloris wanted to “dance straight” her Tango I believe.
Derek By far the one highlight I can always count on. Corky needs to take a lesson from him—all could really
Alec is way too low key for this show. He often seems to give off a disinterested air that can make him uncomfortable to watch when he is training his partners or standing before the judges. Even the paparazzi sense this in him.
Cheryl, with Derek not participating this season has the best chance at winning this season. She is consistently good at getting the best out of her partners. Her biggest weakness is the fact that she makes a lot of bad choices for wardrobe. She needs to stay away from showmances as well.
Anna T. She is a firecracker and a smart one too! She seems to be escaping, or at least changing the perception that people have of her. Reading early comments about her were mostly negative, but now they are mostly positive. She is letting her humor show and learning from those around her. I’ve noticed she has taken a page or two out of the Derek DWTS playbook. And she is very supportive and complimentary to her costars. And she is very supportive of her partners.
Anna D she is a beautiful dancer. I think she got a real bum rap with Michael in her 1st and only season. She got blamed for his lack of dancing skill and that wasn’t fair, because as the season progressed he started to really show some improvement. I don’t know whether it was because he finally started taking the training seriously or if he was just a slow learner. And she is desperately needed to dance with the tall men.
Chelsea I like her mainly with the younger partners or those who could be like Ty. He treated her with respect and worked hard.
Karina She is too incredible of a dancer to lose. If they can’t find her a celeb partner she needs to be in EVERY PRO DANCE! She has mad skills and is FEARLESS on the dance floor. And she seems to be very sweet & supportive to her partners. She knows when and how to push them and get them to focus.
Kym is fabulous with the entertainers. She knows how to work with those larger than life figures and get the best out of them. She is quiet, but determined. She deserves more credit for her choreography too.
Lacey is often hit of miss with her stars. Like Maks, she often lets her mouth get the best of her. But, since she is very young, hopefully she will get a better handle on that particular problem. When she has a successful connection with her dance partner she is capable of creating unique routines that really help them stand out.
Julianne spent her time wisely on DWTS and knew when to leave. I don’t think she’ll ever be back on the show as a regular, but it would be nice to see her back to do some occasional pro dances. Dancing is certainly her greatest talent, but not her only one I’m glad to see her able to spread her wings and share more of her talents. In interviews, she has stated that she has offered to come back and do some pro dances, but TPTB have never asked her back to do so. I hope one dance she is asked back to perform.
Edyta is a fool if she quit because TBTB didn’t want to use her husband on the show. He was boring and didn’t seem to work that well with his partners. She shouldn’t be blind to that fact. She had her niche on the show, but I think that is probably the easiest one to fill. There is already a lot of other “eye candy” for the guys who watch the show. And her skills as a choreographer aren’t as strong as many of the other pros on the show. I missed seeing her last season, but I think had more to do with the fact that she seems sweet and I was use to her being on the show.
Ashley—I don’t think that it is just the mom track. She didn’t seem to be able keep up that well with the other pros during the pro dances. But, she was very sweet with Buzz. I wonder if her personality would be strong enough to stand out if she wasn’t partnered with someone who didn’t have charm and personality of Buzz.
Without really enjoying all this “hate wave” from Cori (indahouse? =p), have to agree in some points… hehehe specially about Cheryl outfit!!! hehehehe those barman and cops were terrible last season. Made me don’t pay attention to anything, but the clothes… =(
But please, I just ask a little more respect to Corky… he can dance very well as we see on pro dances, his problem is that he screws everything trying conquer the audience with anything but the dance… =/
Differently from people (can’t remember who) said that s12 will be the chance of Maks winning the MBT, I think he will ever win DwtS… really. I can imagine he partnered with an adorable and charismatic and famous and shaped girl and messing everything on competition. =/
(As I said, I respect him as a professional, but don’t like his behavior…)
As we don’t know the couples, right now I think that the chances are with the pro girls. Cheryl, Anna T., Chelsie – man, perhaps Mark.
I wasn’t sure about all the hate from Cori Iowa either?
But, I like what he said about Kym. I love how concentrated and quiet she is. She is like an Ice Princess. The Bjorn Borg of the dancefloor.
Carlos, and I agree about Corky. He doesn’t get very much respect sometimes which is sad because he is very much responsible for training the best dancers in the world …many of those connected with DWTS. Almost all of them (if not all) have trained with him at one time or another. I don’t enjoy him as one of the teachers on the show. But, I do enjoy him in the pro numbers. Personally, I think he needs to grow his hair long and put it into a ponytail again.
Hard to believe this is him and Shirley, isn’t it?; http://www.dancevision.com/instructors/corky_shirley_ballas/
LOL Vogue,
I didn’t see this picture! ahahahaha
It reminded me that movie “Shall we dance”! Corky looks like that bald guy friend of Richard Gere! with wig… ahahhaha
And Shirley is like a sister of Karina! =o
LOL So true!!!!!
Since when is being honest considered hate speech? My post wasn’t sugar coated, it was just blunt and to the point.
I think that the pros can take it, as some of them can really dish it. All you need to do is watch a little paparazzi vid and then tell me I was too harsh on Louis and Max. Tony has had his moments as well, hence the yes man comment. Heck, some pretty harsh things have even been said on air and certainly during the after the show interviews.
As far as respecting Corky— I don’t hate the guy–I just hate what he has done so far on the show. Even Cloris asked him to tone it down. And Florence, as she said in many interviews and paparazzi vids really wanted to learn to dance and not just do comedy routine on the dance floor.
What I’ve said about my experiences watching him on TV takes nothing away from his achievements and success away from the show. The PRO Dance Sport world and the DWTS world are very different–and they each require different things.
If you read my whole post I was very complimentary to most of the dancers. I actually like them all. But, that doesn’t mean that I like everything that they say and do.
I think that this could be Mak’s year to win, unless Cheryl gets a good partner, if he can cool it with the self proclaimed bad boy routine. I think that his comments are what kept him and Brandy out of the finals last season.
I know that Louis is passionate about his political beliefs, but religion and politics aren’t what people are watching this fun and fluffy dance show to see. DWTS is an escape from real life for most of us. Just dance Louis! And Louis with the “funny girls” could use a break too. Perhaps that is the real problem, as such it would be nice to see him paired with a different type for a change.
Dear God, please give Mark Ballas a season (or two or three) to “focus on his music.” Is that too much to ask?
