DWTS – Karina Smirnoff Launches New DVD & Make-up Line, Wedding Date Set, & DWTS Talk
Last night, Karina launched her new workout DVD and “Girlactik” make-up line at Sweet E’s Bakery in Los Angeles. She discusses her new products as well as her wedding plans (the date has been pushed up to January 2012). But, what I found interesting (and tell me if I am speculating too much here?) is that she mentions how the show will help her keep fit for the wedding. Does she know something we don’t? Does this mean she’s a “go” for this season and/or the next? Read more below from the Daily Mail and let us know what you think.
‘With the show [Dancing with the Stars] being as intense I’ll probably lose the weight, then gain it back, then before the wedding lose it again,’ she joked about getting in perfect wedding dress shape.
After announcing her engagement Karina initially said she wanted to get married quickly.
However, the plan to get married in a few months has clearly changed.
Karina, 32, who was previously linked to Extra host Mario Lopez, also discussed her new fitness DVD at the event.
‘It’s about 35 minutes of actual workout, but it’s really intense and you are going to get sore but it does work.’

I also found this tweet to Johnny Weir last night very interesting. For those that don’t know, these two were rumored to be paired up last year.
So far, he hasn’t answered her. I know…I am pipe dreaming again.

I’m totally with you on that pipe dream. I’m not sure it will happen, but I’d love to see Johnny on the show.

Semi-unrelated note – I had no idea GirlActik was still in business. They were famous about 10 years ago for their glitter eyeshadow/liner that actually stayed put…I rocked it as a sophomore in high school
I took a gander at their website – seems like they’ve definitely gone more the sophisticated route with their products now…kinda reminds me of either Too Faced or Benefit (for those makeup fiends out there like me!). Wonder if Karina will take a page out of The Situation’s book and turn into a “one-woman gifting suite” this season, giving out samples to her castmates? 
As for her knowing about being on the show or not – I sure hope she has some insider knowledge, because if not, I’m afraid she may have just jinxed herself by assuming she’d be on this season
I love me some Karina, but I am more and more afraid that we will either get Peta OR Karina this season, and not both.
Somehow I think she said the same thing about her wedding date with Maks. hee hee. Love Karina.
She seems happier with the baseball player than Maks. Maks seems too tempermental for her.

There is usually one pro per season who sounds like they are certain they are on the show – often that Pro is Derek. I think they act that way because they know the producers have a partner for them already. I assume most have already met with producers once (why else would Maks make a stop in LA for one day?) and know the status of their potential partner. I believe the last two seasons Derek has been certain because both Jennifer and Nicole asked for him and then signed on the dotted line with the producers agreed. By the same token, Louis almost never knows until right down to the wire – he’s the shortest, so he would be the hardest to match. Anna has often known before the others but she refuses to say because she doesn’t want to jinx herself. And Lacey is the blabbermouth who always tells immediately, one way or the other.
Still looking for any evidence that ABC will fix the voting to prevent the powerblock voting habits of fan clubs. And I also am watching for any further hi-jinx with political “stars” to screw the voting dynamics. If these are not fix, DWTS has “jumped the shark” in my book.
Prefer watching Chelsea and Anna T over Karina any day.
It would be a shame if the timing is always off for Johnny Weir and DWTS. I would love to see him dance. Can’t imagine Karina with him though – too much charisma in one couple.
Karina and Johnny would be extremely interesting. I’m sure he’d be fantastic, but with their very strong personalities, the partnership has the potential to be incredible or disastrous. Either way I would love to see it… I hope Karina is on, whoever her partner is!
Weird. DWTS went to all that trouble to select a new pro and she only appeared once, I think. I also thought that contest was a good feaure-teaching former contestants, etc.
sounds to me like she is a go for this season. hopefully they give her somebody good. johnny is a good choice but I think i have some other ideas too: Michael E. Knight, landon donovan, Gary Zimmerman, and Deion Sanders. (all three are extremly talented and popular. michael known for playing tad on AMC (my cousins, mother, and aunts love Tad the cad lol) while theo ther two are exremely sucessful football players but i would prefer deion).
