DWTS Season 12 Cast Rumors – Al Sharpton Says “No” To Dancing With The Stars
Well, dang!! Al Sharpton would have been a hoot on the show in my opinion. From TMZ today.
Rev. Al Sharpton just turned down ANOTHER offer to join “Dancing with the Stars” … but not because he’s scared of the competition — in fact, Al insists, “I’ve got moves … I’D BLOW ‘EM OUT!!”
The Rev claims he just doesn’t have the time due to his commitments with the National Action Network — but wants to make one thing clear … “There would be no chance for anybody to touch me!”
Be sure to visit the link to see a video of him too. I’d embed it here, but, they have the embedding feature turned off. Here he is busting some moves. lol
I believe he worked with James Brown back in the day…I bet he has alot of moves and he is certainly entertaining..
I’m kinda disappointed by this…..was really hoping he would do the show. that would have been interesting to see.
I’m sure Al has some moves, but I’m sure that DWTS would kick his butt. He wouldn’t know what hit him.
Awww shucks, no Al? Darn 🙂 *sarcasm* Sorry, but he gets on my last nerve. And the hair is just icktastic 😛 lol. His bravado isn’t really helping matters, either – anyone that goes into DWTS thinking it’s gonna be a piece of cake has got a rude awakening coming their way!
Yeah he may have the moves but does he have the work ethic?
Was he really asked or was this a rumor? Cause if it’s true, the producers have not learned one thing from last season’s polarization. Now, I like the Rev but his presence would cause all manner of trouble. Who else are they asking that would detonate another political controversy?
I agree Jay – I think the Rev would be another quite polarizing figure, and after the firestorm of controversy last season, I think the show needs to stick with some politically-neutral figures for a few seasons before trying to bring Al aboard. Let the dust settle for awhile.
As for whether this was true or not – I’d say it’s probably one of the more legit ones we’ve heard. I think Vogue or Heidi would know better, but I’m pretty sure the initial rumor came from a fairly reputable outlet. As for any other polarizing political figures on the show this season – I know Sarah Palin threw out Christine O’Donnell’s name as a suggestion, but I don’t think it was ever really a “rumor”, per se. Someone also said they heard Ann Coulter’s name, but I don’t think that was really ever a possibility, either. And of course we heard Todd Palin, but he turned the show down last season and that’s how we got Bristol, so I don’t think he’d be up for it, either.
Well if TPTB think booking someone like Al Sharpton on the show to boost ratings is a good idea they must not be very smart. Or they are tired of the show and want to find new jobs.
I’ll save the rant for now.
Eh, I don’t agree about all politicos causing controversy. I am a staunch Democrat and I didn’t have a problem with the criminal…I mean Tom Delay. 🙂 Seriously, he was pretty harmless. I think it does the Palins way too many favors to react like all politicians would have the same effect. I don’t agree with that AT ALL. They are extremely polarizing figures combined with Bristol lasting far too long. Al Sharpton wouldn’t likely last any longer than Delay – but he would certainly be FAR more entertaining than Bristol was.
Court, don’t confuse Al with Bristol – he has a sense of humor. 🙂
Aww, Al woulda been fun but id never even hurd of him before these rumors popped up. But seriously! A minister on DWTS?! Thats kinda hillarious to me, for real who next??? Bill Gaither?? John Hagee???
Oh gosh i so ment to say heard. Gosh 🙂
