DWTS – Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Promo Poster For The Ukraine Backelor/Appearance On Million Dollar Listing
Still no word if Maks is officially dancing on Dancing With The Stars, but, we have other Maksim goodies to share special thanks to @dwtsgossip at Twitter. Above is the new official promo poster for The Ukraine Bachelor. If interested, you can also follow the show at it’s official Facebook page >>>>HERE. If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to see our earlier posting of the commercial HERE and see two of the contestants which might have captured Maks’ eye on the show HERE.
Also, this past weekend, Maks made an appearance on the “Million Dollar Listing” show where he looked at an ocean side apartment in Malibu priced at $5 Million. You can view his appearance at the 36 minute mark. It didn’t take Maks long to decline. The look on the face of the young stunned Realtor is priceless. I have a feeling Maks has a special way of doing that to everyone in his wake. lol
Thanks to @FLLotterDreamer and @BotanicalLilly at twitter for the heads up on the video above.
This post answers the question of “will the Ukraine version of the Bachelor be as cheesy as the US verion?” Answer: Yes. LOL. Hopefully NOT as full of shit as the US version.
As for the house hunting – are we supposed to believe that Maks (or any of the pros for that matter) can afford a 5 million dollar house?? Don’t do it Maks – don’t fall into the American trap of buying too far above your means. Unless DWTS and dance studios do WAY better than I believe they would. Keep in mind, I can’t watch the video at work, so I have no idea if he actually is considering a house that expensive (for real and not just for TV).
I bet his “house hunting was just for TV. It looked that to me anyways.
I wonder what happened to Joni… the girl he spent NYE with. I’m soooooo looking forward to watch The Bachelor.
This is gonna sound crazy to some people, but a $5 million beach house may not be that distant a possibility for Maks – especially knowing what I do about how much a typical studio makes in a month. While the DWTS salary is nothing to sneeze at (roughly $6K for every week the pros are in the competition), it’s peanuts compared to what a successful studio can pull in in a month – one here in Indy can make a profit of about $47K/month. Maks has multiple studios in much busier areas – NY & NJ are ballroom meccas. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were pulling in something to the tune of $75K apiece per month. Without seeing Maks’ tax return, I can’t say for sure that Maks is able to “afford” a $5 million dollar beachfront property – but I wouldn’t rule it out as a possibility. He’s definitely branded himself well & has been quite successful in the ballroom world!
True Courtney and I think his family has money too.
Maks also gets paid very well for choregraphing the show at The Wynn in Las Vegas.
$47k *profit* or gross?? For the 47k to be profit he would have to gross at least 94k a month, probably more. He has to pay rent, utilities and salaries and any other expenses and he’s in NYC so that’s going to add up VERY quickly, more quickly than in Indy. Cheryl Burke has far more studios than Maks does and is better branded and I’m pretty sure she didn’t spend nearly that much on her house.
That’s PROFIT. We’re the wrong line of work, huh? 🙂
And yes, property & utilities are going to cost more in NY & NJ, but those cities are also going to have a lot more students, too, so they’re going to be teaching more lessons – I’d say at least double the # a school here in the Midwest is getting a week. Plus a lot of the big-name pros (like Maks & Cheryl) can afford to jack up their prices, since people are paying for their “brand”. I’d say Cheryl might be slightly more flush than Maks, just based on cost of doing business in Cali vs. NY, but I also think Maks maybe had a little bit of money to begin with from his competition days – probably invested it wisely.
Erin once said that Maks was the one with the “Ochocinco Money” and that’s not peanuts. *g* I think that Sasha is a very wise business man and passed his knowledge on to his son. So I don’t think a 5 million dollar home is beyond his reach. But he obviously wants more for his money than what he saw. *g* (The view was marvelous though!)
Well, no, my division at work comes close to (and often does better than) that in profit – but then I do REAL work. 🙂 With actual college degrees and Engineers and stuff. Why yes, I am a horrible snob – surely you have all figured that out by now. 🙂 Of course, considering the amount of work they have to put in to keep it running and flush, when you put an dollar value on an hour of their time, the profit margin probaby isn’t that high. I think I would prefer the Derek route. 🙂
He’s not going to get more for his money in Malibu – that’s just crazy talk. 🙂 I’ve been to Malibu many, many times and I love it – but I would have to camp on the beach to live there.
