DWTS Season 12 RUMOR – Christine O’Donnell
As much as it pains me horribly to write this, I kinda feel like I have to follow our usual course of hearing something then writing about it – no matter how badly I hope and pray that this person is full of crap. Not Jennifer, who told us about this in the comments, but Christine herself. Is it April 1st yet?? Someone lie to me, please. 🙂

It really disturbs me that the producers continue to go the wacko politico route – why not a nice retired, non-tea baggy politio of any political stripe OTHER than Tea Party?? Why not stay away from politics altogether? The only ones “famous” (infamous?) enough AND willing to do the show are more than a little nutty.
What are the producers thinking?? All I have to say is EWWWWWwww! I’m not liking the sounds of this at all. I was really hoping we weren’t going to have another Bristol Palin on our hands or WORSE!!! This would be worse. I want Al Sharpton instead.
So what? They have people from all walks of life. keeps it interesting. Especially when people get all irrationally offended by who is on the show, lol. That is when it really gets fun.
With over 140 likes in an hour, I worry she’ll say yes.
Politics aside, I don’t think this is a bad idea entirely. She even said ” my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!” and people r telling her not to do it more than to do it. So, im gueessin this is gonna be a no. The way i see it, if she does the show the show get a polarizing figure with a hell of a lot of ratings to follow. If she doesn’t, it gets some press leading up to the big announcement. Either way the show wins.
Am I the only one who thinks this crazy bitch is lying through her teeth? 🙂 Something about this seems very, very fishy to me…and it wouldn’t be the craziest thing that has come out of Christine’s mouth. I said this in another thread, but I’m gonna say it again here: if she does indeed do the show, I sincerely doubt she’s gonna have the same run that Bristol did – the viewers are smarter now, and really know how to vote in order to prevent this kind of thing from happening, and compared to the Palins – Christine is small-time. Half the republican party thinks she’s certifiably batshit crazy anyway…she won’t have the same support. I don’t see her lasting anywhere past week 2.
And zilla, while having people from “all walks of life” might “keep the show interesting”, offensive ones like Bristol & Christine also alienate viewers, and putting polarizing individuals on season after season is eventually going to torpedo viewership and thus the show. I don’t think worrying about the future of a show you enjoy is getting “irrationally offended”.
Courtney you are soooo right. I am Republican and while I am not a fan of the Palins, its a known fact that half the party thinks Christine is as u said it “batshit crazy”. If she does the show, she won’t get the run like Bristol did since Bristol was not a politican and was actually a decent dancer and had a likeable girl-next-door personality (at least I think she did). Christine unlike Bristol is offesnive as hell so she wouldn’t even make it past week one. People would be looking up who is competing and google her and see she is a nut.
@vin – Yeah, I consider myself to be a “moderate” Republican, so extreme right-wingers like the Palins & Christine are kinda off-putting to me…and about half the party too, hehe. I always got a little frustrated last season, because I think a lot of people automatically assumed Republican = Palin supporter, and I was constantly feeling the need to say “No, no! I’m just as mad as you guys! I don’t like the Palins!” But anyway, yeah, I think if Christine goes into this (and that’s a big IF – I still think she’s fibbing) with the attitude that she’s gonna coast through the competition on votes alone like Bristol did, then she’s gonna have a rude awakening – and a target on her back from day 1.
What a horrible crappy idea this is!!! Again, did the producers NOT read any of the suggestions made on the ABC/DWTS website. Countless times people said NO MORE POLITIANS OR PALINS and now this??? This totally sucks!
If she says “yes”, which dancer do you see her partnered with? Maybe Tony or Jonathan? Surely they wouldn’t give Mark another political partner, would they?
Well, Courtney, it IS considered getting “irrationally offended” if you ARE a tea bagger yourself. 🙂 They are nothing if not hypocrites.
The producers don’t understand the law of diminishing returns. And if I hear one more time about how Bristol brought huge ratings, I may scream. As the number one show in the US, DWTS already had great ratings that were not that much higher than the previous fall season. Remember – you have to compare fall to fall, not fall to spring. And frankly, any increase is likely not something for the Tea Party to brag about – I’m willing to bet there were just as many tuning in to see a train wreck.
IF, she says yes (praying it sisn’t gonna happen though) I am guessing Jonathan. no way mark would get her since htye gave him bristol and they love him……..lets face it the show needs a happy Tony, Mark, Cheryl, Kym, Lacey, Anna T and Maks this season since there is no derek and they r the other popular dancers. Besides the possibility of a Tony and Lee Meriwether pairing is intriguing since he would give her some kick ass choreography like he did when he actually likes a partner (basically anybody that wasn’t Kate G lol). If anything, the guy who danced with Marliee could be brought in to partner with her since if i rmeber correctly he was moderately tall.
I certainly wouldn’t include Tony in the list of popular pros – not by a long shot. I barely include Mark in the list. I think Tony and Mark benefit tremendously from Maks and Derek, respectively, and their relationships with them.
And you’re thinking of Fabian Sanchez – who I don’t think is that tall, but I could be wrong.
Well I tried googling “How tall is Christine O’Donnell?” and came up with answers to “Is Christine O’Donnell a witch?” & “Is Christine O’Donnell retarded?”, but alas, I did not find the answer to my original query. I guess who she gets as a pro partner will all hinge upon who else is doing the show – if Wendy Williams is on, she will almost have to have Maks; if Lee is on as well, I think that takes Tony out of the pool of possibilities. While I would love to have Jonathan back, I would have a very, very hard time if it came at the expense of him dealing with Christine; with any luck, she’s short enough for Corky, someone I wouldn’t be as disappointed to see go. Or, if we’re really looking to “shake things up”, stick her with Louis and pass the popcorn, please 😉
And yes, Fabian is short – maybe 5’7″. Not much taller than Corky. But I don’t see TPTB bringing him back to partner Christine – too many other, more “current” pros.
“Or, if we’re really looking to “shake things up”, stick her with Louis and pass the popcorn, please”
LOLLLLL
Yes, please, put Christine O’Donnell with Mark. After all, he “handles” this type of celebrity quite well. ITA about Tony and Mark – though I like Tony a helluva lot more than I do Mark – they more than benefit from their relationships with Maks and Derek. Mark is especially good at using relationships with his “close friends.”
Isn’t it kind of late to just now get asked considering the official announcement is only one week away? Unless someone who was previously in dropped out. If it is true, I’m surprised ABC would want to go the political route ONE season after all the craziness surrounding Bristol Palin.
ehy don’t you guys get james scott from days of our lives on season 12 on dancing with the stars
All I have to say is being a pretty far right winger and a Palin supporter…unless this girl can dance like Sabrina Bryan on steroids I aint voting for her..idk i just certainly DONT vote on politics. Hope that im not the only Bristol fan that intends not to vote for her unless A. Shes a great dancer or B. She turns out to be very likeable and we in term see a diffrent side of her.
Well, thanks for the laughs! Especially Courtney. I watched Christine on Bill Maher (all his greatest hits clips) and I kept thinking “She can’t really be like that, can she?” She’d be like a mashup of Marie Osmond and Victoria Jackson. Talk about…

I am from Australia and have no idea who Christine O’Donnell is.
Is she like, Rosie O’Donnell ?
@Cameron – Hahaha…well both are rather vocal and sometimes obnoxious, so I guess in a way they are similar! All kidding aside, though, Christine is a far right-wing politician from Delaware that has become the butt of many jokes due to her sometimes utterly nonsensical political stances. She’s been accused of being a practicing witch (like a real witch…not just a mean woman!) & used to be anti-masturbation. She’s recently become kinda buddy-buddy with Sarah Palin, who offered up Christine’s name in an interview late last year when asked who she thinks should do DWTS. And apparently TPTB at DWTS have either been stupid enough to take that bait, or Christine’s been lying to us through her teeth about getting asked to do the show. Most of our outrage about her doing the show comes from the fact that we’re afraid that she’s going to be the 2nd coming of Bristol Palin on DWTS…just generating a lot of controversy and making the show miserable to watch. Make sense?
Thanks Courtney & Heidi for the laughs-can you all imagine if she really did participate on the show. Well at least we’d have a good laugh!!
I hope it’s not true. I love the show, and I have watched it faithfully since Season 1. It has been my escape from the world– and nasty politics are part of the world. My blood pressure rose just watching a political candidate get free publicity last Fall. I won’t watch if the rumor is true.
As long as she brings in ratings, TPTB won’t care how hawked off we are because “we’re talking about her” and bringing in serious buzz over the show and “America WILL watch for support or just because they have to” It’s sad but true. I sincerely hope this rumor isn’t true. Season 11 was hands down the most frustrating season to watch in my opinion. I do not want to be irritated or frustrated when I’m supposed to be entertained by this show. Please don’t do this ABC!!!!
I thought this was Dancing with the Stars…not Dancing with the Politicians….
Is there nobody left in the D list celebrity pool…
I agree with Courtney – there are a lot of Republicans (and Tea Party supporters like me) that think Christine O’Donnell is “batshit crazy”.
What a horrible, horrible, horrible idea… and I was so looking forward to Season 12… 🙁
Sally your exactly right so thats why I dont expect Christine to be an earlier exit IF shes even on. Im not worried to much about her. Yet. 🙂
@ Nathan- Couldn’t have said it better.
Politicians aren’t stars, they are bitches -_-
