I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS Season 12 – New People Interview With Maksim Chmerkovskiy On The Bachelor

People.com has a great new interview up with Maks. He tells them doing The Ukraine Bachelor was one of the “hardest” things he’d ever done and he’d do “Dancing With The Stars” the rest of his life before he’d ever do something like that again. He didn’t like “breaking hearts”. Here is a take below. Be sure to read the link for the full story.

“I had never seen it,” he says of the American version of the dating show. “But I still knew what it was about. In theory you think you can do it, but when you’re in it you cannot realize how difficult it is.”

Looking for love while being followed by cameras is one thing, but what Chmerkovskiy, 31, wasn’t prepared for was the fact that at seemingly every turn, he was breaking hearts.

“The fact that I had to choose people was something else,” Chmerkovskiy said during a Rolling Stone party at Drai’s at the W Hotel in Los Angeles. “People should never be lined up and chosen. We’re not objects and we’re not supposed to be lined up like that. It’s terrible and it’s like I was back in high school.”

And while he can’t say whether or not one lucky girl got the final rose, Chmerkovskiy points out that being the Ukrainian Bachelor had a unexpected perk that very well may have changed his life.

“There was a psychiatrist on staff who I ended up speaking to everyday, and it was very therapeutic,” he says. “It wasn’t that I had issues to fix, but talking to someone who was a professional everyday really helped me a lot, so that was an amazing experience.”

Hmmmm, I wonder what the “unexpected perk” is all about that changed his life? Has he indeed found love?

Pure DWTS – Len Goodman In BBC Family Tree Show ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’

Dancing With The Stars Judge Len Goodman recently filmed a new segment on his family history for a BBC1 show called “Who Do You Think You Are?”. Here’s a little teaser and history for what’s to come that you might not have known about Len.

Len, 66, suspected his relatives had been hard up, but did not know the depth of the poverty some had to live – and die – in.

During research for the show, he was told that his great-great-grandfather James Eldridge hanged himself in 1889 at the age of 69 because of the shame of being sent to a workhouse – where those unable to support themselves were offered accommodation and employment.

And Eldridge’s father-in-law John Cecil, an ex-silk weaver, had died from asthma in the Bethnal Green workhouse in 1866.

Len was born in Bethnal Green and found fame through ballroom dancing before becoming head judge on Strictly in 2004.

He also appears on the US version of the show, Dancing With The Stars.

An insider said: “Len was shocked to discover this about his family.

“He is a proud East Ender. The poverty was absolutely awful.”

The show will be screened later this year. You can read the full story at The Sun.

Pure DWTS Season 12 – Meet The Cast Part 2 (More Interviews, Videos)

In the last few days, there have been gobs of fun interview videos released. ABC also released more interview coverage for what we didn’t see Monday night during The Bachelor. This is fun and gets me even more pumped. The press gets very daring with some of the questions.

Access Hollywood interviewed some of the contestants as well. Here is their interview with Ralph Macchio talking about The Karate Kid and why he decided to do the show (LOL to him getting spray tanned. I can’t see it right now. 😯 ). More interviews at the link of the other contestants to the right of the page.

Good Morning America also has a few cool interviews up. Here is Tony and Wendy on the show this morning during the revealing of the couples. Be sure to see more at the link.

Petra isn’t receiving as much press coverage since she’s out of the Country. But, here she is at Elton John’s annual Academy Awards viewing bash last week. Hopefully, we will get more coverage of her and Dimitry soon. She is going to shine on stage, isn’t she?

DWTS Season 12 – The Official Pairings

All the rumors were correct, as reported on this site previously, but GMA has a poll where you can vote for the most compatible couple. I am still unsure about some of these pairs. I think Mark got lucky again, and Maks? Well, I sure do wish he had Petra. Dmitry is too quiet for Petra, I think – but I guess we’ll see!! I miss Derek already – hard to believe that Maks is my favorite male pro this season. πŸ™‚
