DWTS Season 12 – Maksim Chmerkovskiy Discusses Kirstie’s Weight Challenges, Her Amazing Personality, & His Experience on The Bachelor
We have a couple of more videos to share. Maks tells Access Hollywood he did something “right” (not “wrong”) to get Kirstie on the show this year. He says Kirstie is incredible and he’s never laughed so hard. He also talks all about his experience on The Ukraine Bachelor and all of it’s challenges none of which he regrets. I am seriously charmed by the partnership of Maks and Kirstie. I feel like I will be constantly laughing with those two. There are others that I like this season, but I think I am going to be rooting for Kirstie. I want to see her drop that weight once and for all also!

Btw, I thought Billy Bush was rude telling Maks that he and Kirstie can’t win. Well, we will see about that.
HAHA! Yes Maks, I rolled my eyes the same way when I learned Derek was taking this season off.
Funny how Heidi didn’t say anything…. if some other pro had done the same she would have flipped out and write a whole post about it.
You make an incorrect assumption that I am actually reading what Maks has to say. I have no clue what you’re talking about.
The pros should be thanking their lucky stars Derek is taking a season off. Their choreography might actually look decent without Derek’s right next to it.
Huh Maddy, you and I must not be watching the same video? Where did Maks roll his eyes about Derek? He didn’t seem negative at all and wished Derek well. Despite what you might feel on Derek, it doesn’t mean Maks feels the same. In fact, the two are friends and work well together on the show. We’ve seen paparazzi take pics of them out and eating together, playing football in the parking lot, etc.
And I think your post to Heidi was unfair. Have you seen Heidi mentioning how she hopes Maks wins this year and how she plans to vote for him?
I think Maks’ response to the question about Derek was more, “Dear Lord, here we go again. Can’t you people think of anything else to ask?”
As to, are they friends? Well, I found this video from a few years ago and I think I could safely say that Maks and Derek have a long-standing friendship.
I agree, Evaine – it’s unfortunate that so many people (the media included) seem to insist on making everything a “Maks vs. Derek” competition. Maybe it’s because they seem to be the 2 most popular male pros – who knows. But I do think it’s getting old, and I bet Maks is getting tired of everyone harping on the “Derek’s not here this season” topic instead of focusing on all the pros that ARE doing the show this season. I think any of the pros would be a bit irked by it after awhile. I know I am…I am done hearing what everyone thinks about Derek not being on the show this season. He will be missed, but this is a great opportunity for him & he will be back next season. Period. I want to focus on the pros that are on the show this season, and I see no sense in anyone trying to reignite any sort of Maks vs. Derek “fan war” when they aren’t even competing against one another this time around. Do I need to mandate a virtual hand-holding circle & singing of “Kum-bay-ah”?

And I totally agree, Courtney. Let’s focus on this season which looks to be at the very least a helluva lot of fun – and geez, can’t we use that after all the drama of the previous two? *g*

Derek is one of the pros who I’ve never heard Maks say anything negative about, so I don’t believe anything about a “war.” Maks respects anyone with talent above all else, and Derek clearly has the talent.

Yeah, Derek and Maks are drinking buddies from way back. When Derek broke with Shannon and Maks was single at the same time, they went clubbing together – seriously, can you imagine?? Something for everyone in that pair. LOL

I would imagine that all the pros get tired of being asked about Derek – it’s not fair to them, just like it wasn’t fair to Derek to be asked about Mark all the time after he won.
Evaine, have you seen the video of Derek and Shannon with Maks and Karina?? It’s pretty cute too – I seem to recall Shannon and Karina talking about marriage and Derek and Maks being very quiet.
The paps caught the four of them leaving a club and apparently on their way to Shannon’s house. I always thought it was nice that most of the pros seem to hang out together.

I tend to block Karina from my mind though because I have NEVER liked her. Not from the get-go. (Sorry Karina fans.) I recognise her talent, but man… don’t like her.
You know most of the pros, if not all, have known each other for years, since they were kidlets. Learning and training together and all. Just look how many were trained by Corky and Shirley alone! I love seeing them get out together, supporting each other and if they happen to be a little goofy, well, that I adore.
Uhh, Maddy, I’ve watched this interview a few times now and I did not see Maks rolls his eyes. Plus, if you listen to the interview, Maks is the one that brought Derek up in the first place. Those guys are friends. Maks is one of the few people that Derek follows on twitter. So, I just think you are seeing things, IMO.
Goofy is a state of being for Derek. Natural. Can’t be helped.
