Dancing With The Stars – Romeo Miller: “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish”

Even though his dancing isn’t what he hoped this last week, Romeo is going to keep trying and hope he can come out like a “bang”. He says he has never been more nervous in “all his life”. He’s funny in this interview too and he says Kirstie is his best friend on the show. Check him out on Access Hollywood.

Here is a picture Romeo posted on his twitter today saying Chelsie is “trying to turn him into a real ballroom dancer”. Look at those eyes. LOL

DWTS Season 12 – Kym Johnson and Hines Ward “Having a Blast”

On her new Ok magazine blog, Kym writes about Hines and the challenges they had before showtime Monday night one of which were SHOES. More below. Be sure to read the link too because Kym mentions them practicing for their second dance as well and more.

And all the ladies have been talking about the height of their heels, whether they should be three or four inches, and then the men complain about their little bit of heels!

I took Hines to where they make the shoes, it’s like a Willy Wonka shoe factory, because one of his feet is a little bit funky and he’s been having trouble finding the right ones that fit. So he was sitting there surrounded by like, 50 pairs of shoes, trying on all different kinds. He was so happy!

I think he’s just excited to get out there and perform. He’s an athlete, so he’s used to competing, and just focusing on what he needs to do and not others. I don’t think he’s nervous, just anxious to get out there and do what he needs to do. We even tape our practices and then watch the video afterward, so if he makes a mistake he can see it and correct it for next time.

Hines is also writing a blog for the L.A Times. He talks about his nerves, his biggest competition on the show and more.

Q: When were you more nervous, before your first Super Bowl or before your dance Monday night?
A. You really can’t compare the two. I mean, being in my first Super Bowl, I can’t even describe the feeling. I just remember thinking about it right before going onto the field for the first time and how nervous I got. And I definitely got nervous on Monday night before my first dance. But my partner, Kym Johnson, is a great teacher and she just told me to go for it, so we did. I approached my preparation for the show the same way I approach my preparation for football. And I have a great coach for each. It’s just that one is a lot prettier than the other :) but I have mad respect for both.

Q: Who do you think will be your toughest competition on the show?
A. I think all my fellow celebrity dancers are going to be tough competition. I mean, you take Sugar Ray [Leonard], for example. He is a world champion and made his living with his hands and his feet. And he doesn’t seem to age at all. Then there are Kirstie Alley and Ralph Macchio, who both did very well and got better scores than me. So I mean you really can’t count anybody out. I think everyone is capable of winning the Mirror Ball Trophy. I think it all comes down to who wants it the most and who works at it the hardest.

Q: Any particular style of dance you are looking forward to?
A. Since I have never done this type of dancing before, I really don’t know what exactly to look forward to. So far I have enjoyed what I have learned in the cha cha cha and I am actually looking forward to learning a wide variety of dances before this thing is over. Remember, I am a football player and that is what I do. I am not a ballroom dancer, but I am willing to be one until May 24th if the public will keep voting to keep me on.

These two are so cute! Loves them!!

Pure DWTS 12 – Mark Ballas: “Chelsea Didn’t Miss A Step”

Mark Ballas has a new blog up. He writes about he and Chelsea’s dance this past week. He is very pleased and excited. He also dished about the other dances he liked Monday night. Here is a take, but, be sure to read more at USA Today. Mark and Chelsea have the Jive this Monday night.

Chelsea didn’t miss a step, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I thought her personality really came through as well, and the judges rewarded us with a great score! And to be the first up only adds to the challenge. We learn the order of the lineup the day before, so we had 24 hours to get those butterflies in our stomachs under control. On the flipside, the rest of the show was a blast after we performed and scored well.

During the rehearsal weeks before the season premiere, I’m really focused on my partner and don’t see or interact with the other teams much. Some of the couples train out of town, and we’re all on different schedules. It was awesome seeing the other couples perform finally. Now that we’ve got our feet wet, I’ll be seeing the other cast members daily and can’t wait to spend time with them, and sizing up who my competition is!

It’s tough to say which couples will do well overall based on one dance. Some people excel at Latin techniques; others are great with fast choreography; some shine with slower steps. But I will say that Ralph (Macchio) and Kirstie (Alley) really nailed their dances on Monday! I also really liked Romeo (Miller) and Chelsie (Hightower)’s dance and Hines (Ward) and Kym (Johnson) look to make a strong run. Judge Len was hilarious with his comments to Hines!

Chelsea is also taking to penning at People.com. What do ballrooms and beer halls have in common? Find out below. Thanks to Fig for telling us on Chelsea’s blog.

What do ballrooms and beer halls have in common? Honestly, fun. In the two weeks I’ve spent immersed in this new dancing adventure, I have developed six pack abs, not from intensive training, but from Ballas belly laughs. Yes, I have been coupled up with the beautiful person that is Mark Ballas and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. He is an amazing mentor who has made this process the perfect mix of learning and living. Our five-hour dance rehearsals have always been offset with trips to Disneyland, pranks on the camera crew and running from security in my hot pink promo dress because I tried to spin the Price is Right wheel without permission.

However, I’m not saying this process hasn’t come with a serious set of challenges. Walking sideways with your knees bent, hips forward, chest back, shoulders down, elbows up, fingers pretty and head twisted in Linda Blair-Exorcist-like precision is uncomfortable enough as it is without the added pressure of perfect breath, since there is no such thing as a personal bubble in the ballroom. Also, as a self-proclaimed Carrie Bradshaw fan and collector of all things stiletto, I’m seriously considering boycotting heels when this is all over. I’ve always been there for them and now, when I need them the most, they aren’t supporting me.

Also, here is a fun picture Mark posted on his Facebook page of he, Chelsea, Kym, and Hines at Dmitry and Petra’s party for the cast this week.

DWTS12 – Chris Jericho and Mike Catherwood Talk About The Beauty Of Dancing With The Stars

Fox All Access interviews Chris and Mike after the show. Both talk about the “beauty” of Dancing With The Stars and how we can get to know them versus just watching them dance. Chris says they may or may not have a personal fan base, but, the fans of the show are their fanbase now too and it’s time for them to open themselves up to us. Check it out and more below.

Dancing With The Stars 12 – Wendy Williams Promises To Do Better Next Monday

Special thanks to PureDWTS reader Jennifer for bringing this fun video to our attention yesterday among all the new Dancing With The Stars media blitz. Wendy talked about her dance on her show yesterday. She defends her dance and talks about her costume, etc.. She also promises to do better next week. More below. Btw, Wendy should wear the dress she’s wearing in this video as a costume instead of costumes like the one she wore Monday night. She looks great here. Do you agree?

DWTS12 – Was George Lopez Out Of Line About Kirstie Alley On His Show?

I think what George Lopez said on his show at Kirstie’s expense was totally mean spirited and distasteful!!! Hey, Kirstie may be over weight. But, she’s trying and she’s currently losing weight. She looks great and she needs to be commended. She doesn’t need people like this bringing her down. I can’t embed the video, but, you can see what George Lopez said HERE. :x

I hope Kirstie never does his show now and it’s his loss too if she doesn’t.

Speaking of shows, Kirstie tweeted this news on her twitter last night. Be sure to tune in as I’m sure it will be a gas.

SPEAKING OF JAY LENO….I will be making out with him this THURSDAY…so tune in…..part of this is true

Dancing With The Stars – Kendra Wilkinson On Being a Sex Icon & Why She Spent The Day In Bed Yesterday

Marc Malkin of E Online interviewed Kendra yesterday. She tells him that she’s really a “tomboy” versus the sex icon she gets portrayed by the media. She also discussed why she spent a large part of the day in bed yesterday since she felt sick. Read why below.

“They’re kind of playing me as a sex icon, kind of the sexy one that’s the booty shaker,” Kendra told me this afternoon in what we hope will be the first of many exclusively weekly chats we’ll be having with the E! reality star. “It’s funny and everything, but my true fans and my people know that I’m a real tomboy. I don’t wear makeup and I don’t wear heels and all that stuff.”

Kendra is taking DWTS so seriously that she actually felt sick this morning after making her dancing debut on last night’s season premiere. She spent a large chunk of today in bed.

“I didn’t even drink last night, but I feel hungover,” Kendra said. “For anyone who is a real competitor, you wake up the next morning and you’re either mourning or you’re celebrating. Right now, I’m in between those.”

Is she hurting? Sorta. “My brain is in pain,” Kendra laughed. “I’m really really wanting to do this. I’m really in this to win it. People looked at me and thought I was going to do better. I did the best I can.”

DWTS Season 12 – Carrie Ann Inaba Talks ‘DWTS’ and ‘State of Grace’

So far, Carrie Anne is happy with all the contestants. She talks about who surprised and disappointed her Monday night. She is the most impressed with the “men” this year. She also discusses her dance drama “State Of Grace”. They are making the pilot and hoping it will be approved for a series soon. I hope it’s approved. I can’t wait to watch Erik Roberts in his role.

Pure DWTS 12 – Kyle Massey Analyzes The Dance Couples

It’s good to see Kyle again and here he is on Good Morning America yesterday discussing the show. I like what he said about nerves and how everyone is nervous even if it looks like they are cool with it.

DWTS12 – Chris Brown and Toby Keith To Perform On Dancing With The Stars

Extra is reporting Chris Brown is to perform on Dancing With The Stars next Tuesday, March 29. However, there was talk ABC might cancel his appearance after an outburst on Good Morning America yesterday.

While promoting his new album “F.A.M.E.” on “GMA,” the singer seemed calm when answering anchor Robin Roberts’ questions about his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but afterwards, apparently lost it, ripping off his shirt, picking up a chair and allegedly smashing a window.

8O Ok, I would definitely say he still has some issues. Be sure to take our new Poll below (Thanks Sasa) for what you think will or should happen.

Toby Keith is also slated to perform on the show according to his Twitter page and Taste of Country.

Toby Keith took to his official Twitter page today and posted this message: “Just back from spring break w/ family & heard I’m SINGING ON DWTS.” Even though it sounds like this was sprung upon Keith very suddenly, we are definitely excited to see what he has in store for his performance.

No official word has been released on when Keith will perform, but since the news is coming straight from Keith himself, it sounds like a sure thing. Hmm … we wonder if his daughter Krystal will join him when he hits the ‘DWTS’ stage!
