DWTS 12 – Mike Catherwood Says Getting Nude Helps Him Focus on His Dancing (POLL)
Lately, I’ve been wondering if this guy isn’t asking to be voted off or even kicked off the show? Whatever the case, check out this new video Mike Catherwood made for People.com where he defends his getting naked and not being the worst dancer on the show.
By the way, Radar On-line is reporting the duo was warned by ABC to tone down the sexual undertones. Not sure if it’s true or not since this information isn’t coming from ABC themselves officially, but, please vote in our new Poll below and let us know what you think.
Ok, so I’m voting for “No, let them be who they are. It’s a free country.” As long as they aren’t showing the actual nudity going on, I’m ok. But, I do find it annoying and I also think they are hurting their chances to win versus if he can dance or not.
I do believe they’re told to tone it down. However, it’s not coz they toooo hot to handle. ABC/DWTS had never had problem with sexiness. I think they’re told to tone down their grossness.
I personally find it hilarious. Although it does kinda seem like Mike & Lacey have both already kinda given up and have decided to just have fun – which is unfortunate, because I do think they could do halfway decent if they just tried a bit harder. Kinda reminds me of Adam & Julianne & the infamous unicycle paso doble
I’m kinda surprised that so many people are reacting so strongly to them – I don’t think they were any worse than Cloris & Corky. Some of the stuff that came out of that woman’s mouth was pretty risque! And I daresay we probably haven’t heard the worst out of Kendra’s mouth yet!
Sorry I’d like them to be the first ones gone. I don’t find him funny at all.
I don’t find it offensive or anything like that but it has already gotten a little old, imagine what it would be like at the end of the competition. I think he is much more funny when he isn’t trying to be sexual/provocative. He should leave that to Steve O (one of the most amazing moments on DWTS was when he visited Kyle&Lacey’s rehearsal for Instant dance)
I agree with Sasa. I’m not offended at all. What Mike says really isn’t that bad, and I actually think he’s very funny. The reason people are annoyed is probably because it’s getting old. I think Lacey is to blame for that though.
Courtney, it’s funny you mentioned Adam and Julianne, because my MHD immediately went to them as a comparison.
Both Mike and Adam are similar style DJs, and both seemed to cover their uncomfortableness with dancing with humor. The difference, I think, is that Adam was mature enough to tone his humor down, and Mike so far seems to be relishing it. Let’s face it, Adam was by far the most questionable celebrity that they’d had at the time.
Maybe the difference was their partners, Adam was paired with Julianne, who was 19 at the time, and still seems to have that air off innocence, and Lacey definitely seems to encourage Mike’s humor, maybe in the hopes of a possible showmance, to gain them more time.

I think these two are trying real hard for us the public to view them as this seasons showmance. I don’t see it and wish they would focus harder to on there dances instead trying all the bs about a brewing romance and nudity. Lacey’s and Mike’s foxtrot was horrible and the choro to. Let’s just hope that Jive will be somewhat of Jive. If not he will be first one to go home. Wish Lacey would dye her hair to one color too. j/s
