DWTS Season 12, Week 2 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?
From what I hear, our week 2 dances are the Quickstep and the Jive. Presumably, those who danced Foxtrot last week will be dancing Jive this week and those who had Cha Cha will be dancing Quickstep. Important to note – each couple keeps the same phone number throughout the competition and they will no longer coincide with dance order (if they did last week…I never checked). The only way we will know dance order is if the celebs or their pros tweet it over the next day or so. Check back here often, I’ll add info as it becomes available.
ETA: Programming Note - President Obama is scheduled to speak at 7:30 pm Eastern time (6:30 Central) and is supposedly going to be done in 30 minutes. This should not impact DWTS. If he goes over, the show is LIIIVE (tm Tom Bergeron) in the Eastern and Central time zones, so I think they can just delay the start of the show by however long he goes over. They delay programming all the time, I see no reason why they wouldn’t tonight. It should have no impact whatsoever on the Mountain and Pacific time zones, unless they get the President on tape too. 
UPDATE: According to Louis’ Twitter, he’s spoken to the producers and has been assured that the president’s speech will not go over time. Phew!

However, there a couple of things that is bothering me, and it’s a little petty. Or Petra/Peta.
It’s a name thing…. I thought that I would have problems keeping Chelsea and Chelsie straight, but in this post… I saw the photo of Petra and Dmitry, and right after, the tease that Peta tweeted that was mentioned, and honestly, I think I had to go back and forth and until my eyes got the two straight!!
That’s a cute pic of D&P. I hope she surprises everyone with her Jive. It’s time for some tall ladies to represent.
Wonder why Kendra and Louis arent doing quickstep this week? They did cha-cha last week.

Hmmm…Ray must be getting more votes than we’re thinking, if they put him at the top of the show. My money’s on Ralph & Karina or Hines & Kym to go last. I’m thinking they might put Kirstie in the middle, at the top of the second hour.
Yep, I was just coming on here to say – TYPO. Got in a hurry and typed the wrong thing. Don’t ever assume that I am absolutely correct – I make boo boo’s and I’d rather you point them out so I can fix them, instead of leaving them out there for posterity.

@Maddy – According to all of our sources, the president’s speech is not expected to cut into DWTS. He’s allegedly going to be done in 30 mins. I think Ray ought to be fine.
The show is live in the Eastern and Central time zones. If the prez goes over, they can just delay the start of the show, and the start of Castle as well. It won’t affect the Mountain and Pacific time zones at all. AFAIK, there is no need for them to start at 8 pm sharp in the east.
I also watched that video of Wendy, maddy – I think she just means that she & Tony have a story in their quickstep, but it’s not storytelling week. I think a lot of the pros try to give their celebs a “story” to play to in order to coax more emotion out of them on the floor…and lord knows Wendy needs to emote.
I thought week 3 was story week. I reeeaaally hope that speech by our most dapper president – trys to keep straight face – wont cut into DWTS too. Surely it wont.
If they do go over maybe they can cut out some commercials so that Castle could start on time….I know I am living in dreamworld.
Truly am not being a pessimist here, but my guess is the Prez’s speech will run over, or at least the broadcast will. After a Prez speech, doesn’t a designated member of Congress from the opposing party make some comments?

Yes, all the a@#holes have to speak. Not sure why a member of the opposing party would need an opportunity for tonight, though – it ain’t the SOTU. I’m more concerned with the talking heads, such as Stephanopolus, et al. They HAVE to put their two cents in. However, DWTS is ABC’s number 1 show and most of the Country is “shallow” so I would bet the network would limit their time severely and save it for cable.
I do find it disturbing that we are more concerned with DWTS than innocents being slaughtered in Libya, but I’m learning to live with it.
Thanks Maddy for posting that Wendy video. I thought it was strange when Maks said that Kirstie he had a story for it this week with what was going on with her. So now it makes sense with Wendy’s video that everyone is doing story week. Wonder how everyone will fair with story week with these dances.
Thanks for letting me know about the speech – I am usually not home during DWTS so I always DVR it – set it to record for an extra hour in case it starts late!

Agreed.
I’m more concerned with innocents being slaughtered all over the world rather than JUST in Libya. Face it. This is about oil for Europe…not humanitarian effort. So Oblahblah is just going to lie to us some more about our involvement. (Maybe he looked up the definition of “kinetic” by now so he can defent that ignorant statement.) Looks a little diferent when you are in charge, huh Chief?
Just wish the brainwashing didn’t have to happen during prime time…..can’t he just go on the 11 p.m. news and lie just as easily? Then the talking heads could analyze the lies (sorry, brilliant speech) all night long…..and the fans can sit and cheer. I for one would rather watch the dancing….but I suspect we shall not get to see it all or we will see it 30 min to 1 hour later than we planned.
And zip it on the politics. It doesn’t work in polite company, particularly when people who demand that others respect the office when a shrub holds it can’t do the same when a democrat does.

Absolute hate the DWTS Dance Troupe. They are terrible, dance like dance class amatures, hate the stupid gimmicks DWTS has subjected us to in recent years, GET RID OF THE DWTS DANCE TROUPE. I would rather watch the staff professional dancers (Maks, Mark, Chelsea, Lacey, Dimitri, Cheryl, etc) than these stupid awful troupe dancers.
