Dancing with the Stars 2011 Special Guest Music – Dance Troupe and Chris Brown
I sometimes try to list the music that’s used on the DWTS results show. Although, sometimes it’s hard to figure out and sometimes there’s not enough to mess around with the list of music from the DWTS results show. I’ll give it a whirl tonight.
Chris Brown performed the song “Yeah 3x”
with cameo appearance from Bailey (aka B-boy Bailrok) who was part of Future Funk on America’s Got Talent.
Chris Brown performed a laser inspired performance to the song “Forever.”
A bunch of people on Twitter were complaining about Chris Brown lip syncing and of course there’s the commentary about him not being fit to perform on the show after his various antics. For me, I thought his performance was ok. I was most happy that his performance included a lot of dancing. My least favorite musical guests are those that just get up and sing. I watch a dancing show to watch dance. Chris Brown at least satisfied my need to see some dance with his performance.
Also, what did you think about the new Dancing with the Stars Troupe? Of course, if you’re a regular reader of the site, then you already knew there would be a Dancing with the Stars Troupe since Vogue wrote about it a few weeks ago. Peta was the highlight of the Dance Troupe for me.
The six members of the Dancing with the Stars Dance Troupe performed to Sly and the Family Stone’s song “Dance to the Music”
choreographed by Jason Gilkison.
As always, be sure to check out all the music from Dancing with the Stars 2011 including the music from last night’s episode.

Loooved this piece. It was very open minded and tasteful. I saw it the same the same way, that Chris Brown came to dance on a dance show more so then sing. I applaud him for his performance, job well done, considering those who did not hold back from trying to push their view of him. It put you mind of the saying the show must go on and go on it did. I thought the new dancers did good too but no attachment yet. Maks, Cher & Tony are still my fav
I liked the troupe a lot. Hopefully they utilize them as pros in the future. Chris Brown was fun to watch and all but I couldn’t get over the lip syncing. I also really didn’t like the first perfomcance. The second one was cool though.
Regardless of what I think about Brown’s personal issues, I really liked that he came to dance. I actually thought he’d make a good star, from a dancing perspective. The lip-syncing is to be expected when you’re wingin off flips – not many people can control their breathing enough to do both. He shoulda worked on it more but he was not boring. Any thoughts about them perhaps telling him he couldn’t have a live mic and hence the syncing?
@John – The opening number with the troupe plus Maks, Louis, Dmitry, Anna, Lacey, & Cheryl was to J. Lo’s “On the Floor”. Just FYI
And I see you mentioned Bailey…wonder who gave you the tip about that one…;)
I thought Chris was okay. He did seem to be on his best behavior, although I think Heidi mentioned on Twitter that Debi Mazar had spilled the beans that Chris’ performance was pre-recorded, so maybe they had a chance to edit out anything potentially inflammatory. Who knows. The dancing was good – I will give it to Chris, he does have moves. The lip-syncing didn’t bother me too much. Only thing that bothered me was that the routine for “Yeah 3X” is that same one that he’s done on several shows – I saw it on an SNL rerun last weekend. Kinda wished he had mixed up the choreo a bit more, but maybe it wasn’t his call.
As for the troupe – Peta stole the show for me
The others were good, but I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She’s got definite star quality!
Not surprised about the elimination this season, Mike was bound to be the first?
Heidi, Voguerista:
I don’t know if you can answer this question, why do some dancers squeeze Tom Bergeron’s ass!
Margaret, I can answer that…. It’s Mel B and Maks fault!!
WAAAAY back in Season 5, Maks was paired with Mel B from the Spice Girls, and part of her “thing” was to squeeze Tom’s butt on their way to the Red Room… No celebriquarium then.
After that, it pretty much has been Maks and his partner, sort of keeping that tradition alive.
I think it was last season when it got out of control, and lots of people were doing it, and I think he sort of lost his temper once….
And I think he tolerates it, because it’s expected now, from the viewers, that Maks and his partner will do their Tom-Move.
I loved the two Troupe numbers. Fun, energetic and very pretty to look at.
As for Chris Brown? Honestly? I found it boring, especially the second number. I used most of that time to catch up on Twitter. *yawn*
LOL MARGARET!!!!!!
As for last night, wowwww, I was freaking. I loved the whole night and all the performances. Maks first pro number was HOT! The new dance troupe was steaming! I love them all. It’s great to see some new pro dancers and the selection is just perfect!!
Really enjoyed the new dance troupe and look forward to seeing them perform every week. They’ll make the entertainment portion of the results show more interesting for me. Of coruse, I love our seasoned pros, but I look forward to getting to know the troupe members. The little blonde, Oksana, is a cutie; and Tristan can dance if he wants to, but as far as I’m concerned he could just stand there and read the phone book so I could listen to his Irish accent. Gee, how shallow is that?
Did anyone notice how long Jennifer Grey’s hair has gotten? When she was in the audience last week at DWTS you could see it. Maybe she’s working on something, does anyone know. Miss seeing her dance with Derek and on tv in general.
I definitely prefer Maks choreo of group numbers over Louis’ – by a mile. Same think with how they each choreographed a tour. That was a good pro number.
What’s weird is I’ve seen a many Chris Brown performances and have never seen him lip sync, it was rather surprising and a little distracting. He is an AMAZING performer and has ALWAYS been. He is a true talent and I believe it had to take a lot to go out there and perform under those circumstances.
I wish him the best and relly hope gets the help he needs. Would hate to see all that talent wasted.
Regarding the troop, I’m not in with that yet. I’ll admit, I’m pretty loyal to the pros I’ve grown accustomeed to seeing on the show. Don’t know that it’s the best idea to just bring them in to perform every week like that because it seems that a lot of people have not warmed up to them, at least from what I have read. They should probaby just ease them in, maybe every other week.-just saying.
There is one guy in the troop that seems to be pretty cool, he’s funny and may have the personality needed to be on the show. Hope I’m not speaking to soon and please don’t hate me but I think our pros are “WAY” better, sorry!
I commented on Chris Brown’s lip synching last night and it did seem odd cause I’ve seen him on other shows and he wasn’t – and he performed awesomely. I also wondered if any other notable performances were obviously lip synched on DWTS. I couldn’t think of ANY but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.
I liked the troupe and watching Peta, she is great – and a couple of the guys too! I was a bit annoyed how they kept showing Oksana though – she didn’t do it for me and her “sexiness” that she was trying to convey just made me laugh.
Troupe. Good idea. But I think the regular pros, including ones from past seasons like Edyta, Ashley, Alec, etc. are better dancers.
I’m sorry perhaps I’m a prude, but if a man beat my friend, then after he was “reformed” destroyed property in a way that might have injured others, then didn’t pay for the damage – I don’t think I would enjoy watching him.
So, in honor of all of those people who have to deal with domestic and other violence in real life, I was happy to miss Chris Brown.
“Awesome” performing doesn’t negate violence. “Letting off steam” by destroying things is NEVER alright. Enabling and indirectly condoning violent behavior by pursuing no consequences isn’t okay.

Christy, you’re not alone in your opinion.
Christy I hope you never need forgiveness because you get what you give.
Christy, How do you know he didn’t offer to pay? Maybe he was in a room alone and knew the only person he could hurt was himself. Maybe he was trying to hurt himself by breaking the window and jumping to his death because he felt he would never be able to put the past behind him. In other words #JudgeNotLessUbeJudged
what was the Latin song that the troupe (or the DWTS dancers) danced to? I don’t see it listed? It was such a great song!! Thanks!
