Dancing With The Stars 2011 – Bruno Tonioli, Kirstie Alley, Petra Nemcova, Dmitry Chaplin Do Live With Regis And Kelly
Petra and Dmitry dance one last time on Live With Regis and Kelly. Bruno is there to help interview them (he can’t take his eyes off Petra. lol). Kirstie was interviewed as well this week. You can tell Kelly Rippa is a huge fan to the show. I’d just love to see her do the show someday. Anyway, don’t miss seeing these interviews if you didn’t get the chance.
Im a Kirstie fan, but talk about pimpage. Its Oprah and then Tom was on GMA with Kirstie and Maks, and now shes on Regis. Her face is everywhere, its Kirstie overkill to me, im on the verge of dropping her from my top 3. She is entertaining, but one night a week is all I can take of her. If Chris continues to do well, I will be moving him up into her spot on my top 3.
Oh…please don’t hold it against Kirstie for doing a couple of talk shows.
The other celebrities and dancers are doing their press rounds, talk shows, and blogs, etc. too. Try and keep it about her dances on Monday night. That’s what we should keep our votes about (imo).
Vogue, I hear ya! Believe me thats not what I want to do, but sometimes for some people too much is not a good thing for the viewers. I grew up in Donnie and Marie years, and always loved them. During my teen years, I had his posters from my Tiger Beat magazine hanging up on my bedroom walls. (Along with some others, that I wont mention). But i gotta tell you after Donnie and Maries stint on DWTS (all the pimpage) I cant stand either one of them. I dont want that to happen with Kirstie.
I don’t see where Kirstie is doing any more media than the rest of them (with the exception of Oprah, but they are friends). They all seem to be everywhere. One thing I have to say about Kirstie and Maks…I haven’t seen that many tweets trying to get people to vote for them….and I have seen none (could be wrong) about the DaD. Here’s hoping you get it Maks (DaD)!!!
It is interesting how many appearances Kirstie is getting – it doesn’t bother me because I know how to turn the channel, or simply not set the DVR. But I will say that the GMA and Regis appearances are not normal for contestants still on the show. Those two appearances usually only happen AFTER they’ve been eliminated. They do Ellen before they are eliminated, and most of the entertainment shows too. I wonder if they just perceive her as being a good draw, or what? Makes you wonder if she’s got the juice to win this thing even without an improvement in the dancing.
This sure is an interesting season, even if I agree with a previous commenter who said that the dancing isn’t up to par of previous seasons.
Neither Maks nor Derek have been ones to ask for votes for DaD – it used to infuriate the hell out of me. Just ONE Tweet, Derek – ONE. He’s got more followers than any other pro! But he would never do it. Maks MIGHT have retweeted someone once, but I’ve not seen it if he has.
Anna has really been doing it a good bit, but it’s more of a retweet with a thank you which seems to be her modus operandi for much of her tweeting.
Frankly, Derek SUCKS when it comes to self promotion. He seems to take the opposite tack of Mark. Can’t there be a happy medium somewhere?? And he sucks at tweeting most of the time too. He makes my life running PDH difficult – I have to be a freaking detective.
Lucky for him he’s so cute.
How about Ann-Margaret next season!
I can deal with the Kirstie pimpage because number 1 if I dont want to watch her. I just dont. And I like her but what I really want to say is my heart is breaking for Petra i wish we could of seen her dress rehearsel Quickstep because I think the one she performed on Live had the makings to be three 8s material if not one 9 ya know if they would have been going all out. Darn shame. ( Im about to sound mean right now if your a Kendra fan so you’ve been warned ) anyone that voted in this sluty no account diva brat to dance again is insane, Carrie Ann needs to get off her crack cocaine too because she called that Kendra’s BEST DANCE! NO WAY! all it was was a bunch of walking around with fake facial hair with a cheesy fake grin with 5 seconds of Foxtrot thats a load of bullcrap ( Im trying to be nice and hold back is the scary part right now
). I dont hate Kendra and hate is not even the word I would use now, more like cant stand. Actually I really liked her Rumba..mainly because of the song but thats counts too. VOTE KENDRA OFF!! Im sure ill be meeting Petra one day on the other side because I still question if she’s actually an angel 
I would not count on ever seeing Ann Margaret on the DWTS floor. She was severely injured in a 22-foot fall off a stage while performing. She recovered but endured facial fractures among other injuries. For her to do the show I would say thats a Negatory. She is a lovely woman.
Heidi–Do you really think she can win this without improvement in her dancing? With scores say 21 to 24? Has that ever happened? Im curious.
I guess I just don’t agree with the Kirstie “pimpage” thing. I don’t see it when compared with some of the others…and by others, I mainly mean Mark. Could this guy push himself anymore???
Derek, on the other hand is so humble…oh, how I miss him.

Oh, I have no idea, Sandy. I kinda doubt it, but you never really know. If her dancing does improve she could be scary. Much of the time the popular people have to be relatively good to win over the better dancers – I’m thinking Donny versus Mya here. Donny was clearly a favorite while Mya was a much better dancer – but Donny didn’t suck, so he won on popularity. Marie made it all the way to the final over a better dancer, but she wasn’t good enough to actually win and her freestyle was HORRIBLE. There is a lot to be said for popularity and likeability, which Kirstie has in spades – but I think she will have to do some very good dances to actually win. I would not be shocked to see her in the final though.
Exactly what Heidi said. *nodnod* It’s going to be really interesting to see how it all plays out. Of course, I’ll find it more interesting if Kendra could go home, like, now. She’s sucking so much of the fun out of the whole thing.
And I wonder… maybe the shows – GMA and Regis have ASKED for her to be on? She seems to be big entertainment news all around.
Oh, I’m sure they asked her to be on – it’s just that if she’s that much of a draw to them, you really have to wonder how she’s doing with the voters, if she’s a draw to them as well. If she and Maks really step it up, some other couple could be in trouble.
*nodnod* Which is why I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she improves. Of course, doesn’t stop me from a case of the sweats on elimination night either! *LOL*
I would love to see Kirstie win the MB but only if her dancing warrants it. There’s nothing wrong with being hugely popular and getting a lot of votes if you also show you’ve got it on the dance floor. It bugs me when the voting public overlooks the dancing. That’s why I was so pleased after her Cha-Cha in Week 1–thought she had both sides of the equation covered. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to show the improvement I was expecting. Really hope she and Maks can dial up that “excellence” she was talking about for the second half of the season.
A group of friends who are amateur dancers have been getting together on Monday and Tuesday nights every season since season one. However, we have unanimously agreed that this is our last season if Bruno is still a judge in the next one. He is ridiculous and insulting! We have grown more dissatisfied with him over the seasons, but now it has gotten to the intolerable stage. I hope we can continue our viewing of Dancing in the future, but it will only occur if Bruno is gone.
