DWTS12 Week 6 – “Guilty Pleasures Week” Song Predictions

We all seemed to have a good time speculating about what songs we might hear during DWTS “American Night”, and we even got some right. So what songs can we expect to hear on Dancing with the Stars “Guilty Pleasures” night? Below are some of our predictions:

“Sunglasses at Night” by Corey Hart (Court’s Note: This one has an extremely strong paso doble beat, and was popular in 1984 – the year Karate Kid was released. Coincidence? Maybe…maybe not )

“Macarena” by Los Del Rio – Bayside Boys Remix Dance Radio Edit Ricer Re-mix

“You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates

“…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears (rumored to be Kirstie & Maks’ samba song)

“Careless Whisper” by George Michael

“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship

“Afternoon Delight” by Starland Vocal Band

“Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard

“Wannabe” by Spice Girls

“MMMbop” by Hanson

“Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley

“Baby” by Justin Bieber

“The Sign” by Ace of Base

“The Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground

“It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones (Court’s Note: This one is a pretty good quickstep…and seems fitting for a couple of goofballs like Chelsea & Mark. Carlton Banks, anyone?)

“Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club

“Livin’ La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin

“Girl You Know It’s True” by Milli Vanilli

“Physical” by Olivia Newton-John

“Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey

Oh, how I’d love it if someone danced to “Girl You Know It’s True” by Milli Vanilli! “Get Down Tonight” by KC & The Sunshine Band” would be fun too!

It’s not MY guilty pleasure because I love it, but it must be some peoples’! “It’s Raining Men” – the original by The Weather Girls. God knows what dance would fit it though!

“MacArthur Park” by Richard Harris would fit a waltz, no?

OMG, look at Kirstie’s new “Shake Shake Shake” tweet. Is it possible her and Maks have “Shake Shake Shake” by KC & The Sunshine Band?

@Amanda – I thought the exact same thing – the Carlton dance fits right in with Mark’s spastic dancing style! If he comes down the stairs wearing an argyle sweater – we’ll know we were right about their song It is possible though…Chelsea says it was a song popular before she was born, it’s goofy, and it’s not necessarily something she would pick. Somehow I doubt Tom Jones is on her iPod. Hehe.

@Vogue – I’d prefer “Shake Shake Shake” to “Baby One More Time” for Kirstie’s samba. I just can’t decide if she & Maks have been telling the truth in interviews when they say that it’s their song, or if they’re just yanking out chain…never can tell with those two

Chelsea reveals that their song “mentions the sun several times”. Now I’m leaning more towards Katrina & The Waves “Walking on Sunshine”. It’s already been used as a quickstep on the show once before (during the season 8 new pro competition, when Lisa Rinna & Mayo Alanen danced a quickstep to it), but that’s never stopped them from reusing songs. *sigh* Guess I’ll just cross my fingers for a Tom Jones quickstep next season…:-( And I’ve still got high hopes for “Sunglasses at Night”.
