Pure DWTS Season 13 – Who are your Dancing With The Stars “Dream Couples”?

Yesterday, in the new Melissa Gilbert Rumor Post, PureDWTS reader Evaine asked if we were going to have a new “Dream Couples” Post. She mentioned she’d like to see Adam Lambert and Lacey Schwimmer dance together at Twitter. Nathan posted he’d like to see Giada DeLaurentiis preferably dance with Derek Hough. What do you think? Who are your Dancing With The Stars “Dream Couples”? Tell us all of your wishes in the comments and then we’ll submit this post to ABC next week sometime.

As for my Dream Couples, here’s who I’d like to see dance together for starters. I might add more later;

Karina and Johnny Weir
Dimitry or Alec and Katerina Witt
David Cassidy and Kym
Chris Evert and Derek
Georgia May Jagger and Damian
Gisele Bündchen and Maks
Nick Carter and Peta
Henry Winkler and Cheryl
Susan Dey or Faye Dunaway and Alec
Barry Williams and Edyta
Enrique Iglesias and Peta (woudn’t that be a hot combination)
Kim Zimmer and Tony

Thanks Evaine!!! 😉

Pure DWTS 12 – Rapping, Ranking, Grading, and a Poll On The Dancing With The Stars Judges

Tom Bergeron posted this new video at his twitter of Carrie Ann, Len, and Bruno during their best judging moments of Season 12 to a rap song. I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry watching this? 😯 But, it inspired a new Poll and ranking question which you can view and partake in below and in the comments if interested.

Lastly, if you were to rank Carrie Ann, Len, and Bruno on how well they judged Season 12, how would you rank them in order? You can also “grade” them if you like.

My favorite judge is Len. I love his grumpiness. I also respect how he tries to stick to the traditional rules of ballroom dancing. I think his role as a judge on the show is the most important for this reason.

In ranking and grading the judges this Season, I’d do so like this. (Note: I took a grading point off for how they tried to manipulate and take away our rights to vote at the end even though I suspect producers were involved too.);

1. Len – Grade: B-
2. Carrie Ann – Grade: C
3. Bruno – Grade: C- (I’ve loved him and his dramatic style in the past and sometimes he describes just what I’m feeling after a dance. I can’t imagine the show without him. But, he goes too far in his criticisms when he demeans the contestants!)

I look forward to all of your thoughts! 😉

DWTS 12 – Brooke Burke Talks On The Dancing With The Stars Finals (Video)

KTLA interviewed Brooke after the Season Finale. She talks of how this Season had one the “nicest” casts they’ve ever had. The interviewers ask Brooke if they think Chelsea and Mark were robbed of the Mirror Ball. Brooke says it’s not fair to ask that because Hines had “rhythm” and related well to the audience. She was the most surprised at Kirstie’s success on the show, but, could see why she made it the finals on personality alone and women across America loved her. All this and more as Brooke promotes “Suave” as well.

DWTS Cast 13 Rumors – Is Melissa Gilbert Doing Dancing With The Stars Next Season?

The upcoming June 6th edition of the National Enquirer is reporting that Melissa Gilbert (“Little House On The Prairie” fame) is going to dance on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. Read this schedule of National Enquirer stories to come from Ocdeffluvia;

2011 — June 6 — Arnold Schwarzenegger’s $500 Million Divorce, Jim Carrey’s daughter wants her mom and dad back together, Oprah’s neighbors don’t like her, Kirstie Alley wants to open a dance studio, Melissa Gilbert to be on Dancing with the Stars, Chaz Bono to marry girlfriend, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in couples therapy, John Rich of Celebrity Apprentice rude to fans, Lauren Alaina of American Idol to help tornado victims in her hometown, John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan to wed in July,….

Edit to Add: Here is take from the National Enquirer. Be sure to read the link for the full article.

“After so much pain and heartache recently, it’s nice to see Melissa with something to smile about,” said an insider. “Her upcoming appearance is giving her something to look forward to after her split from her husband.

Melissa and her husband of 16 years, “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” star Bruce Boxleitner, separated on March 1. The couple continued to live together for a while and attempted to reconcile, but Bruce finally moved out when the couple realized their relationship was not going to work.

Melissa was also deeply disappointed when she lost out on a role in the new version of the nighttime soap “Dallas.” Producers chose “Desperate Housewives” star Brenda Strong instead.

Adding to her woes, Melissa came down with a severe bout of colitis – inflammation of the colon – after undergoing a colonoscopy recently.

“Melissa has had one bad break after another,” added the source. “It’s nice to see her luck is changing by landing on ‘Dancing with the Stars. ’

I remember Melissa’s name coming up a lot in many fans wish lists last Season. I’ve also seen her sitting in the audience either this Season or last, can’t remember which? Though I think it was this past season. After doing some digging on twitter, I found she tweets regularly to Kirstie Alley and she was a fan this Season.

[blackbirdpie url=”https://twitter.com/#!/MelissaEGilbert/status/72905082034847744″]

So, what do you think of this possibility? I’d love it. I’ve always liked Melissa. Even though the National Enquirer is not reliable (then again, tabloids seem to nail it too sometimes), I wouldn’t be surprised if Melissa isn’t a serious contender to do the show next Season?

Heidi’s Note: If true, I would peg her as a likely winner, based on her history on Little House – depending on who else is on this coming season, of course.

John’s Update: Melissa posted the following 2 tweets where she says the rumors are exaggerated and that they’re not casting yet, but that she’d answer her phone if they did call. Exaggerated doesn’t mean that the base story isn’t true. Although, it is early for them to have a final cast. Lots of negotiating and contract signing to happen before anyone is officially in season 13’s DWTS cast. Melissa’s smart to deny anything. DWTS doesn’t like leaks. Here are her tweets:

Dancing With The Stars 2011 – Cheryl Burke and Maksim Chmerkovskiy Attend ‘The Love Festival’ In Las Vegas

If you’ve been following their twitter accounts, Maks, Cheryl, and Tony are currently in Las Vegas to help the cast of “LeReve” get ready for their shows at the Wynn. Saturday night, Maks and Cheryl were seen together with Jenny McCarthy at the Moon Nightclub inside the Palms Casino Resort for “The Love Festival”. Below is a picture of Cheryl and Maks who are said to have looked “cozy”. More at Vegas News.

I always thought these two looked striking together. I don’t think there is anything going on like the link hints at, but, the two have always been really good friends.

DWTS 12 – Mark Ballas’ Blog Comes To A Close And Pia Toscano Speaks About Their Friendship

Mark has penned his last blog (and a deep one at that!) for the Season at USA Today. He writes of how much he will miss his new best friend Chelsea and shares some song lyrics that came to mind on the way back to Los Angeles on the red eye. He also talks of his plans for the summer, how music is his passion and what drives him, and hopes to see us again at his shows this summer and for Season 13. More below and at the link.

Let me assure you: We had the time of our lives. I’ve learned a lot from Chelsea and I truly cherish the time she and I spent competing this season. Even though we’ve come across a new turning point and we will take different forks in the road, she’s a lovely person and I’m blessed to consider her a close friend for life!

As the frenzy after the finale slows down, I now get to focus on my passion, which is my music. I had a lot of fun interviews when I was in New York with MTV, VH1, and a few others, and we’re gearing up to play some shows this summer. Those dates should be released soon on my website and social media sites, so please check for those if you want to catch me play live. One fun event I’m really looking forward to playing this summer is the Martin Owner’s Club Annual Event, held at the Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, Pa. It’s such an honor to be supported by the music icon that is Martin!

As I’ve said many times before, music is what drives me. Even when I dance, I consider my movement an extension of the music, with the musicality predicting what movements will occur. The biggest difference between the two, music and dance, is that dance requires you to color between the lines determined by the rules of the dance discipline and music allows you to do whatever you feel on a blank canvas.

It’s been a great ride, Team Kanenball. I greatly appreciate all the love and support (and birthday wishes!) that I received this week and all season long. The journey was memorable and the memories will last a lifetime. I hope to catch some of you this summer at one of my shows and also this fall for Season 13. Happy summer everyone!

Pia Toscano also spoke out about Mark being in the Finals on the show and their friendship at Radar On-line. She says they are dating their careers and nothing more. Below is a take. You can also hear her talk about it in some audio at the link as well.

“We’re very supportive of each other,” Pia gushed about Mark. “I’m so proud of him – that he made it to the finals – and I’m sure he’s very proud of me as well.

“Right now though we are both dating our careers. We’re so involved in what we do. It’s an important time for me to really ride this wave and work really hard, so I have to stay really focused.”

And when it comes to all those late night ‘I love you’ Tweets that fly between the two?

“He’s just really sweet – he loves a lot of people!” Pia insisted. “We’re just very close friends.”

Pure DWTS 2011 – Mike Tyson And New Cast Talk On Atheletes Doing Dancing With The Stars

Not sure on this Dancing With The Stars new cast possibilty and it’s probably unlikely, but, Mike Tyson was Jimmy Kimmel’s guest Thursday night. In Thursday’s segment with Mike, Jimmy questions Mike about the possibility of him dancing on the show since he’s currently starring in the Argentina’s “Dancing With The Stars”. Tyson replies, “They [the US version] don’t pay as much as Argentina” which makes me wonder if he hasn’t been asked and given an offer by the American version. What’s more, Mike’s wife wants him to do the show. Mike and Jimmy talk about Dancing With The Stars at the end of the first video and at the beginning of the second video.

Speaking of another athelete dancing on the show and after Hines Ward winning the Mirror Ball this Season, as well as other atheletes in the past, do you think atheletes have an unfair advantage over the rest of the contestants in the competition and should execs think of not including them in the future so others have a chance to win? I ran onto this article at Popwatch that examines the question.

If you count Helio Castroneves and Nicole Scherzinger as athletes — and, as any race or dance enthusiast will tell you, they most certainly are — then 7 of the 12 champions from Dancing With the Stars are from the wide world of sports. (In your face, all you super tough actors and boy band members!)

With Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward bringing home the glittery disco ball last night, it’s easy to wonder if the reality show’s athlete stars have an advantage on the show. After all, they do have a major foot up, thanks to years of vigorous physical training, which sometimes includes dance. (I’m fairly certain all pro football players are sanctioned by the NFL to know and perform the Super Bowl Shuffle on command.) And as as most late night talk show hosts have been quick to point out, Kirstie Alley wasn’t nearly as athletic as her DWTS counterpart Ward, so did she even have a fighting chance to take the whole thing? Did Hines, like Shawn Johnson and Emmitt Smith before him, come in with physical capabilities the other contestants simply couldn’t compete with? Or was he, like them, just a better dancer?

So, what do you think? Do you like the idea of Mike Tyson (another boxer) doing the show?

Also, do you think the show shouldn’t cast any more atheletes since they have unfair advantage?

One more question, if you’d like to see more atheletes on the show, who would you like to see dance?

In my opinion, I don’t care if the atheletes have an advantage or not. Yes, Kirstie might have won this season if Hines wouldn’t have danced. Even still, I’ve loved the atheletes on the show with my favorite being Evan Lysecek. Not sure about Mike Tyson though? He seems a little cocky. I continue to dream on Johnny Weir being cast …as well as Oksana Baiul or Katerina Witt. I’d love to see Chris Evert do the show too (or any tennis star for that matter).

Heidi’s Note: So, Nicole’s an athlete now?? Give me a break. I also don’t count Helio as one either. As for if they have an unfair advantage?? Most everyone cast on the show has some sort of advantage (it’s about whose is biggest) and I think this is just another way for those who LOST to whine about losing. If it’s not “previous experience” it’s “athletes”. :::rolls eyes::: EVERY season you can point at at least one person and say “So and so would have won, if not for_____” Winning or losing has to do with a huge number of factors besides that person’s past history – Chelsea SHOULD have had the biggest advantages as she was the youngest, and we saw what happened there – beaten by said 60 year old Kirstie. Why? Kirstie had fanbase – a better advantage than Chelsea’s age. Hines beat Kirstie because he was an athlete? Doubtful – he could move better than her and his personality was very engaging. Could he move better because he was an athlete? Well, how about the fact that he’s half Kirstie’s age?? I think this is just another case of sore loser-dom. 🙂 I’m with Vogue – bring ’em on.

DWTS12 Finale Week Search Engine Round-Up

Ok kids, here’s some fun stuff for you to get you prepped for the holiday weekend 🙂 Looks like you guys have got body parts, romance, and casting rumors on the brain again! Gonna be interesting to see what else crops up in the search engine, now that the show is over…I have a feeling it’s gonna be pretty random…can’t wait! 😀

Who is Chelsie dating?

Beats me.  She’s been linked by the tabloids to just about everyone, from Louis Vito, to Mark, and now to Romeo.  With her, it’s hard telling, since she does an exceptionally good job of keeping her emotions and personal life out of the public eye.  For all we know, she could be dating some good little Mormon boy back home, and all of the above liasons are just red herrings.  But hey – food for thought 🙂

DWTS12 Winner

Hines Ward & Kym Johnson.  In case you’ve been living under a rock 🙂

Maks tattoo

Yep, he has one on his upper left ribcage – I can’t tell exactly what it is, but it appears to be some sort of red, blue…swirly…thing.  It was done by tattoo artist Peter Koskela, and from what I’m gleaning from the Maks boards (which I don’t frequent, so I can’t vouch for their authenticity), it was done during his stint on Bachelor Ukraine.  But that’s all I’ve got…maybe one of the Maksettes can help out?

Jodi Sweetin

She played Stephanie Tanner on Full House, and she was a cast rumor for season 12…which means she could still be a cast rumor for season 13, since it can take a few seasons for these rumors to materialize into something legit.  I’ve heard that she wants Derek as her partner if she does the show, but I’m wondering if they would actually give him to her – seems like the past few seasons, he’s been a bit of a bargaining tool for TPTB to lure big names (Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey) to the show.  If they’re holding out for another BIG name (that is also demanding Derek as their partner), sorry Jodi – you may get stuck with Louis or Tony.

Kym Johnson abs

Though not quite as awe-inspiring as the Awesome Boobage(TM), they, along with Kym’s legs, are one of the 7 Wonders of the World. I wish I could say that there was some magical trick Kym has for getting a taut tummy that I could share with the rest of us normal folk, but according to iFit & Healthy, it sounds like Kym’s hot bod is just the result of a lot of exercise with a personal trainer. However, I do know that a lot of the pros on the show (Karina in particular) are pretty fond of the It Cosmetics Abs in a Box Kit – so if you’d rather fake it than put in the time at the gym, I say go for it 😉

Chelsea Kane-Mark Ballas romance

*sigh* REALLY, guys? Officially, Chelsea is dating Stephen CollettiMark is officially/unofficially/who knows/etc. dating Pia Toscano (or is he…?).  Yes, Chelsea & Mark got smoochy in some of their routines. Yes, Chelsea is the featured girl in Mark’s “Hotwire” video. But they’re both denying any hanky-panky.  Let’s put this one to bed, PUH-LEASE.

Mike Catherwood naked/nude/shirtless

You little horndogs 😉 Not that I blame you…Mike’s bod is indeed a hot one.  However, shirtless pix of Psycho Mike are a rareity (for whatever reason, dude doesn’t like to show off his goods – lord knows why), let alone nude ones.  But I did manage to dig up a pretty good shirtless one snapped by TMZ as Mike was running on the beach in LA.  Mmmm mmmm mmm…I dunno about you guys, but god I love a well-muscled guy with a sprinkling of tats!

DWTS Season 12 – Chelsea Kane, Kirstie Alley, And Wendy Williams Dish About Dancing With The Stars Together (Videos)

Chelsea may have placed 3rd, but, Wendy Williams says that is good enough for her in this new interview on The Wendy Show. She is still a winner. Chelsea said she thought she’d be voted off early. So, she is pleased to get to Finals and for the recognition. She talks about her journey and how her and Mark are like brother and sister. She also talks a little on her future plans as well. More below.

Kirstie was also Wendy’s guest. They start out the interview talking about how annoying it is when the ‘age” factor is brought up. Kirstie thought she felt older at 24 than she does now.

We hope to have more of this interview with Wendy and Kirstie shortly.
