DWTS 2011 – Chelsea Kane And Mark Ballas On Being The Most Immature Couple, The Judges, Their Upcoming Slow Waltz & More (Videos)
Chelsea and Mark talk to Access Hollywood about their rehearsals and how fast they go since they are having so much fun. They never leave the studio angry. They also dish about how funny Maks and Kirstie are on stage and behind the scenes as well and why everyone loves them this year. Kirstie is always “on point”. In comparison, Chelsea remarks how they need to be funnier (please don’t go there. Let Maks and Kirstie be who they are and you and Mark be who you are). They also embrace being the “Most Immature Couple” on the show this year. More below.
And that’s not all. Mark talks about Len and how they are friends again in this clip. They hope Len will like their dance Monday since it’s the Slow Waltz and a little more “traditional”. But, they want it to be “entertaining” too and not boring. Mark also talks about the hits he’s been taking. He says it bothers him when the judges are so hard on them when Chelsea danced perfectly (here we go again). Ok, I’ll let you listen.

Mark was a guest on Germany’s Next Top Model this week and it was funny to see him in a different context–of course nobody knew him and he was just used as a picture prop.
Heidi Klum, who hosts the show, did a little dance with him which made me think she might be considering going on the show sometime in the future, and they showed him dancing behind the scenes with one of the male judges. The whole thing made him seem much more likeable.
What!!!!! Mark immature, NEVER!! LOL
where can i find the video lenka? it sounds interesting
Carlos: here’s the link, it starts from 33:00, but maybe it only works for Germany, I don’t know

Get over yourself, Mark. I am sure Mark and Chelsea will get a 10 this week and Len will praise them. Mark will of course then feel vindicated and not learn that the criticism he is getting is fair. I understand maybe feeling picked on but when he requested the music for their jive and paso to create a non-traditional routine, then he cannot act like he is a victim. I hope these two leave after Romeo. Kirstie, Hines and Ralph will be the perfect final 3. I am not feeling Chelsea either. Something about her rings false to me and not genuine. She puts her foot in her mouth as often as Mark.
@John – Well said my friend, well said. Except I hope they leave this week before Romeo.
@Sandy-I do too. But Romeo isn’t a judge’s pet like Chelsea. It seems like the show wants them in the finals.
Might be true. The judges could be hoping for another Hough-Ballas win. I hope not! I mean, I have no problems if either Hough or Ballas wins as long as they deserve it but as far as Mark has been acting lately, I think it’s time for a pro whose name is not Hough or Ballas to win. Yes I have my favorite already and you probably know who it is but I would rather let Maks win this over Mark this time around.
Okay I think everyone is overreacting about Mark. Plus, you completely misconstrued everything he said. I read what you said before watching it and expected something completely different. But Mark acted just like any other human being, he didn’t get an attitude, he acted quite professionally. All he did was answer the questions & state his own opinion, just like everyone else on this show does. So what he might get defensive about it, but yeah because it’s his passion, I would be worried if he didn’t seem to be interested. Is it wrong for him to want to do well? And for him to believe that Chelsea deserves a better score? Not at all, it’s only his opinion. Besides he’s not complaining about “being picked on” by the judges, he’s well aware that he adds his own flare to the dances. He does it intentionally because he doesn’t want to stick to the same boring dances, he wants to express himself & entertain, to be creative & innovative with dancing. And yeah he’s taking risks, but clearly they’re working.
@Nadia – Where do you see this risk-taking of Mark’s “working”? Because he’s mainly received negative feedback from the judges on his more avant-garde dances. I wouldn’t really call that “working”. And while Mark wants to “express himself & entertain”, if he wants to do well, he has to play the game – and that includes pleasing the judges. I don’t think he can do both, the way he’s choreographing.
The one thing I notice, still, is it’s all about MARK…not about Mark and Chelsea. Not being eliminated yet does NOT equal “working” by the way. It means that other couples have scored lower than them such that they couldn’t catch up in votes.
Tonight should be interesting. If Ralph is hurt badly enough that he couldn’t rehearse for four days, he might just get a crap load of sympathy votes. That puts Romeo/Chelsie and Chelsea/Mark in the most danger for elimination – more than they would have been otherwise. Scoring is going to be hugely important tonight.
Mark is always all about Mark. That is why he is emilminated early if he isn’t partnered with an Olympian or publicity lightening rod.
Guy has talent, as all the pros do of course–but the “look at me” is a total turn off for me as a viewer.
