DWTS 13 – Las Vegas Odds Makers Predict Which Pro Will Win Season 13
Would you believe odds makers in Las Vegas are already making predictions for which professional will win Season 13? Take a look below at the numbers. They’ve got Derek Hough and Mark Ballas placed neck and neck at first. Cheryl Burke and Maks Chmerkovskiy are tied at second with Anna Trebunskaya and Lacey Schwimmer in third. Even though they deny it at the link, sometimes I have to wonder what they know that we don’t…or is it vice versa? What about Kym Johnson? Have they forgotten she won Season 12? More below…
Although none of these rumors have been confirmed by the stars or producers of Dancing With The Stars, more times than not, the rumors ring true. Online sportsbooks tend to have a good idea of what is what with reality television and although the current entertainment betting odds listed are lines on the gender of the winner of season 13, it is likely that we will see one of those names as a betting odd once the announcement of the stars of season 13 is made official.

Whatever happens, I hope Derek is back and we see him and Maks in the Finals!! I’d like to see Damian dance next season and I hope he reaches the Finals as well. Same with Anna! Which pros would you like to see in the Finals?

Awww, man, Tony got NO love! I’d love to see him at least get to the final five next season. We don’t see nearly enough Tony.
I’m metaphorically betting on Anna, like I do every season.
I want any of the pros that aren’t Mark, Louis or Lacey in the finals. I have reasoning behind this:
Louis: I am not a fan and think that he doesn’t push his partners hard enough (Kendra could have been way better if he didn’t turn practice time into therapy time and dirty joke time)
Mark: Unless some miracle occurs, we are stuck with arrogant Mark and I jsut don’t want that in the finals agai nafter Chelsea’s fresstlye that showcased Mark.
Lacey” She just annoys me sometimes. She was great with Kyle and Lance but I think she could have pushed Mike more.
I found it strange that Kym and Tony were ranked so low on this list. They really push the celebs to do their best and Tony is ususally a amjor presence in the pro dance numbers (especially seen w the toupe this season). Also kinda surprised to see Louis ranked as high as he is. In all fairness, Alec won the show already so shouldn’t he be ranked higher. Ik inda want him back on the show now to show that he can win again too since he has only won once and every other pro winner has won twice or more.
I think they go by what type of celebs pros get. It makes more sense.
I am surprised that Cheryl and Maks ranked so high on the list and Kym was tied with Chelsie. Cheryl does not seem to have the fire she once had and Maks is popular but has never won the MBT. Poor Tony and Louis are right down with the ‘retirees’…..OUCH!!
@ Maddy: I think you are right that they go by what kind of celeb they have gotten/usually get. It would makes sense why Mark is ranked so high since he rarely gets a partner into the finals. Derek has a pretty good record (w exception of , Shannon and Lil Kim). It would also explain why Tony is so low on thel sit. If I remeber correctly, he has only made it to the finals twice w Stacey and Melisa. That would make sense to me since Louis has only made it to the finals once.
I want to see Karina in the finals because she should’ve been this season, in my opinion. Also want to see Anna and Chelsie go far next season.
@ Sandy: I think Cheryl still has that fire. She really drives her celebs to do their best and has probably some of the best choreography there when done right (which was proved by Drew, Emmit, and Giles). Maks is always going to be a fan fav I think. He has a “it factor: that really seems to resonate w viewers. Not to mention he is never dull lol.
* rarely doesn’t get a partner into the finals
It’s amazing that they list all those pros that haven’t appeared in quite some time. My favs are Anna, Kym, Ashley, Anna D (one season wunderkInd?). We won’t ask Charlotte Jorgensen what she think of what the show has become! Why not bring back some of the early pros for guest spots?
Nah, they base it on record in addition to everything else (just like we would) – Mark jumped up several places this time and it’s because he’s been in the final 3 the last two seasons. Remember, he had Bristol who wasn’t that good but got far. Derek had been alone at the top for a long time, but his sitting out combined with Mark making final 3 moved him ahead of Maks who didn’t make final 3 with Brandy – or for a while before that. Same for Cheryl. But both have good records. The only reason I can see for Mark moving up to Derek is making final 3 the last two seasons.
Imo and only mo, the winner will be based on who middle america likes and holds to their heart. Season after seasson, I have seen stars that should have been booted off, go further into the comptition and even make it into the finals behind their big fan base! If they like you, your in.( She tries, not much dancing ability, but she’s such sweetheart!) or if they don’t like you your out.( Yes, she can dance, but she’s such a diva and she has way too much attitude)
I’d love to see a pro who has never won before win, especially Tony (my all time favorite), Karina (agree with Rory that she should have been in the finals this season), and Anna. Already looking forward to next season!
I think that the reason kym is rated very low? She is not exactly a powerhouse pro and not that striking. yes she won a couple of times, but that is more to do of the very large fan base and great personality of both of her partners, and not because of her ability to turn them in to a dancer and stand out.I think that both hines and donny were overrated and werent spectacular as the other winners on the show.Without their huge bases, i would not think they woul win or even make the finals.
@Anonymous – Kym not that striking???? Um, I am female and I think she is gorgeous, great legs and great boobage…And an accent to boot!!
I am somewhat surprised that she did not rate higher on this ranking. I dont think she has received enough credit for her accomplishments.
YEAH THAT^^ I think Kym is striking too Sandy. Unlike Anonymous, I think she’s a “powerhouse” pro as well. Kym is silent but deadly. What’s more, she’s content with others thinking she might not be a powerhouse. She’ll make them think again when they see her in the finals. I just love her and how humble and fierce she is in that way. Yes, Hines and Donny had big fan bases, but, she had the skill to get them there….and even with a sprained neck to boot.
Vogue – Silent but deadly is right. She could share the same nickname as her partner Hines ‘The Silent Asssasin’….Kym is a powerhouse contender, she lays low and then goes in for the kill…
EXACTLY!!^^
Love yall’s comments! I wanna see pros who have never won bwefore in the finals this year so ive came up with a dream finals pros. Tony, Karina, and Chelsie. Fingers crossed! LOL
I second Sandy and Vogue’s comments about Kym. You two summed up my admiration for Kym very well, and I agree about her accent… I could listen to her talking for hours. XD
Yes to all those things Sandy, Heidi and Vogue said about Kym! She’s also fearless! Not everyone would have danced the week she hurt her neck!
I don’t understand why they rank Kym Johnson so low! All she needs is a decent/good partner and she is finals bound. At this point–I’d certainly rank her ahead of Cheryl Burke, Maks, Anna T, Lacey, and Chelsie. I’d rank her above Mark Ballas too—especially after this season.
The only way that it makes sense to rank her below the others is that since she just won (AGAIN), the producers might stick her with a dud next season.
Just on popularity alone I think that Derek and Maks have the best shot to at least make it to the semi finals.
I love to watch Cheryl Burke dance and think she is an excellent teacher. I love it when she makes the finals.
My favorite dancer is Derek Hough. I really hope he will be back in the line up. I never tire of watching him dance and he is also a great teacher. He knows how to make his partner shine. And finally I hope Maks doesn’t take a break from the show.
No offense to the Kym lovers whose love for her seems quite blinding but if you’re still believing that in order for Kym to succeed she needs good partners then you’re missing the point of the betting ranking.
The ranking is based on the PROs ability to take their celeb partners to the finals or close to the finals regularly and the Pros individual tv personality. You either like Derreck, Mark, Cheryl or Maxs or u don’t. That means you’ve gotten to see who they are as individuals and like them for them.
Kym has no tv personality. Everyone fell in love with Hines and how he nutured Kym, not so much Kym. In Season Nine, everyone fell in back in love with Donnie and his larger than life personality. Kym faded into the background. Neither Donnie nor Hines were the best dancers of their season but their individual personalities, ability to entertain, and fanbase did help them emensely.
Case in point: Kym’s win with Donnie in season 9 and gets eliminated first with someone as decently popular but not such a great dancer as the Huff in season 11. Then turns around and win with someone as well liked and popular as Hines who was a decent dancer. So that tells u that folks aren’t really voting for her but for her dancing partners.
Where as with Max, Dereck, Cheryl, Mark, Lacey and Chelsie, have gone the distance with half decent and not so popular dance partners because the fans have connected with them as peopele one way or another.
Sandra, I have to totally disagree! If Kym was that lacking in talent, popularity and personality as you say, why would DWTS producers hire her in the first place…and for several Seasons?
Wow, everyone has their favorites and least favorite dancers, but, in my opinion, I think you are going too far in demeaning Kym and her ability to teach and dance.
Sorry, Sandra, but I don’t think you could be MORE wrong. Fact is – Kym has won twice. Maks, Chelsie and Lacey have NEVER won. What you’re doing is absolving the pro from ANY credit or responsibility for the win OR loss and that’s just insane. They give out TWO trophies each season for a reason. I can see why you would WANT to absolve the pro, if you’re a Maks, Lacey and/or Chelsie fan, since they’ve never won – but that just doesn’t make any sense. It annoys me just as much as when people say the only reason Derek has won because of ringers – ridiculous. It’s the SAME thing – giving the pros no credit whatsoever. The ONLY person in the history of the show who I think would have won no matter who they were partnered with was Kristi Yamaguchi and the reasons for that are obvious. I think Shawn would have been in the same category if not for Gilles – he actually made it a race.
The fact of the matter is that what goes in to winning or losing on this show is a VERY complex formula and you can’t just point at ONE thing most of the time. It’s not like Maks and Lacey have never had a shot – they have. But for whatever reason, they can’t close the deal and Kym can and has. The pro rankings may be based on their perceived popularity (which is a safe bet) and Kym may not be the most popular – but that does NOT mean she gets no credit for her wins and that Maks gets no blame for not closing the deal. You also forget that Mark has been eliminated FIRST and second in two of his 8 seasons. He was eliminated 8th in season 9 – and that was with 16 couples so it was barely the halfway point. So that’s halfway point or before in 3 of 8 seasons. Maks has been eliminated 5th (not even halfway point) THREE times and one of those times was out of 16 couples and he was eliminated 2nd with Denise. And I’m not counting Misty May. That’s 4 out of 10 seasons that he didn’t even make the halfway point. Cheryl has been eliminated 3rd, 4th and 5th out of 11 seasons. Lacey? 6th out of 13 which is not the halfway point, and FIRST in season 12. Lacey wasn’t even asked back season 8 and if not for Edyta wouldn’t have danced in Season 11 either. If she was THAT popular they would always find a partner for her. Chelsie – 8th out of 16, which is the halfway point, 5th out of 11 which wasn’t the halfway point, and 2nd in season 11 – all in 5 seasons.
The ONLY two people who really seem to meet your criteria are Derek and Cheryl – mainly because Derek has always made it past the halfway point every time except one and that was with Shannon when they were 6th out of 12. Cheryl has always gone far except for when with Chris and with two very much older men. Derek and Cheryl both have taken not great dancers quite a ways in the competition. Now, about Kym…she’s been eliminated 5th twice and 1st twice (Penn Gillette and Hoff) out of NINE seasons. In other words, she has a similar record to Chelsie and Lacey (except that she’s actually won) but has been on the show a lot longer. Her record is certainly as good as Maks, seeing as how she’s won and he’s not made it past the halfway point 4 out of 10 seasons.
Now, some people would be inclined to come back with “But so and so had this partner who was old or this partner who was XYZ” – THAT is my exact point. ALL the pros have had to deal with competition who was better, people who could barely walk let alone dance, and so on and so on. There are a huge number of factors that go into who wins and who loses, not the least of which is judges scores, better competition, past baggage or zero fanbase. Kym is no different from Maks, Mark or the rest EXCEPT in the fact that she doesn’t go out and make a splash in the off season. She is very under the radar, just doing her thing. This lowers her perceived popularity. It does NOT mean she is less talented than the rest of them – in fact I would put her second only to Derek when it comes to musicality in her routines. Compare how many times they’ve made final 4 – Chelsie (1), Lacey (2), Mark (4), Kym (4), Maks (5), Derek (5), Cheryl (6). Now, since Cheryl’s been on more seasons everyone else, it makes sense that she would make the final 4 more often. Same goes for Maks – he’s been on 10 seasons to Derek’s 7. But look at Kym, who was the person being put down – she’s only a point behind Maks and she’s been on *9* seasons. Not quite as bad as you made her out to be.
@Sandra – Well then, put me on the bandwagon with all of the other “Kym lovers” on this site. I think you’ve got it wrong – of all of the pros, Kym is (IMO) the absolute BEST at making DWTS all about her partner, and not about her. She choreographs dynamite routines – interesting, funny, sometimes a bit cheesy – but all still “in the box”, to appeal to the core DWTS viewers/voters. I think that being voted out first with the Hoff was more of an indication about what people thought about the Hoff – the producers thought they had a great personality, but the public at large wasn’t all that enthralled with him.
Another thing about Kym that has impressed me from the beginning, and is now getting talked about on this site – she’s the best at getting “in character”, and about exec expressing dance through her face. Her “fierce face” for the paso is perfect, and some of her looks during the jive (one wide-eyed look during the jive with Warren Sapp comes to mind) just crack me up.
She’s won the thing twice (three times if you count winning it in Australia), and has come in second twice. I don’t have statistics at my fingertips, but I’d bet a cup of coffee that overall, that ranks her in the top 3 or 4 pros. As @Sandy put it – she’s a silent assassin on the dance floor.
Oh, and while I’m at it – @anonymous: You don’t think she’s very striking?!?!?!?!?!? Can’t disagree with you more on that one. A tall, leggy, busty, blue-eyed blonde with supermodel looks and that Aussie accent? My hubby melts anytime she’s on screen, and I understand why.
Not the point I know, but Shannon was eliminated 7th.
Kym is great and I think she has way more support as a pro than people think. She may not have the vocal internet fan base of some others, but I wouldn’t be surprised that she has more support across all the viewers than they do.
I thought Kym had great personality this season more personality than I have witnessed previously from her. The chemistry between these two was noticeable in their dancing as well as their rehearsals and backstage confessionals. This year more than ever Kym was at the top of her game and it showed.
Im done defending Kym, no need to….She is one of DWTS top pros, if Kym takes her partner to the finals, other pros better BEWARE, she is in it to win it!! Shes Awesome.
I agree. You watch. This quiet and humble lioness will be in the finals again and win….and before Cheryl even.
