Dancing With The Stars Mark Ballas And Cheryl Burke’s ‘Pool After Dark’ Party and More
This past weekend, Mark Ballas and Cherl Burke travelled to Atlantic City, New Jersy to host a Pool Party at the Pool After Dark nightclub inside the Harrah’s Resort. Reality TV caught up with Mark and interviewed on him his plans for the summer (full out promotion for the album), Dancing With The Stars, and his relationship with Pia Toscano. Here’s a take from the link. I like what he says about ballroom dancing and how it’s been revitalized. I hope that is always the case! Check out what he says on Pia too. I think these two are definitely an item unless the two are having a lot of fun feeding the press to keep their careers in the news which wouldn’t surprise me either.
You appear very close with your Dancing with the Stars fellow cast mates, do you share a special bond with them?
Yeah, a lot of us are really close. How has Dancing with the Stars impacted the world of ballroom dancing?
I think it’s been revitalized. It was really big back in the day, you know Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly kind of thing and then it kind of died out for a minute; I think people kind of forgot about it and I think it’s been a pleasure and an honor for all of us, myself and Cheryl and all the other pros to be a part of a show that’s kind of brought it back to life because it’s fun, it’s a great workout, it’s a great way to get in shape and it’s also good for the soul and it keeps you revitalized so it’s been an honor to be a part of this show. Are you and Pia Toscano officially an item?
We’re good. We’re good, I’ll give you that! (Laughs)
Adding: You can view Cheryl and Mark dancing at the Pool After Dark Party >>>>HERE .
By the way, we’d like to extend our deepest condolences to the Ballas Family, loved ones, and friends. This past weekend, Mark lost his grandfather George Charles Ballas Sr. Bewitching Ballas has written a great write-up where you can read all about him here. Mark posted this picture of himself, his Dad, and his Grandfather at twitter. Isn’t their resemblance uncanny?
Cheryl was interviewed as well by Reality TV . She talks on Dancing With Stars and the closeness she shares with her co-stars and what she does on haitus. Be sure to read more at the link because she talks of her shoe line….and a new clothing line as well.
You appear very close with your Dancing with the Stars fellow cast mates, do you share a special bond with them?
Absolutely! We’ve gone through this whole journey together; it’s been ups and downs but you know what, we’ve become so close and we’re here and we’ve known eachother since before the show started so we’re really in it together. When you’re on hiatus from Dancing with the Stars are you able to relax?
It’s the opposite. We work year round because we all have other things that we’re doing individually and that’s the only time to do it, is on our hiatus and we do two seasons a year so it gets pretty crazy traveling a lot but we got to strike while the iron’s hot right now so we’re trying to do that.

Those Ballas genes are STRONG! *g*
Yep!!
So good to see you back! We sure missed you these past few weeks!!
Aw, thanks kiddo!! I’m glad to be back with y’all!
*hugs*
When I first saw Mark’s grandfather’s picture, I thought I was looking at Mark. You know where he gets his good looks from!! Condolences to the Ballas family!
Unfortunately I agree with you about Mark and Pia. I think they are in a relationship. I do think he can do much better. She has absolutely no personality and I was not a fan of her music on AI. If they are in a relationship then she is a good liar since she looked right into the camera and said she was dating her career. If she lies about that, what else will she lie about.
“If they are in a relationship then she is a good liar since she looked right into the camera and said she was dating her career. If she lies about that, what else will she lie about.”
Isn’t that the truth Kate?!!!
I am sort of disappointed in Mark. He’s grandfather is gravely ill, he cancels an appearance Friday night but decided to keep his Saturday night appearance in Atlantic City. His grandfather passes away Saturday afternoon/evening. He leaves Atlantic City and flies back to LA to spend Sunday with Pia, then flies to Houston today for his grandfather’s funeral. I don’t know about everyone else, but if I was Pia, I would tell him to spend time with his family because that is more important. Is Pia that important? I think Pia only cares about Pia.
Now I feel better.
@Kate – You said, “I think Pia only cares about PIa”. Mark and Pia are perfect for each other then because Mark has shown the viewers, especially this season that, “Mark only cares about Mark”… They are like two peas in a pod, and grate on my last nerve.
@Sandy – I disagree with you, Mark is a very caring person but unfortunately Pia is pulling him in a different direction. He met her a couple weeks of the season when he had those two “angry” weeks that people were complaining about. I think that had to do with meeting her and not his true personality.
Condolences to the Ballas family and Mark DOES look a lot like his grandfather.
As for Mark and Pia, I hope they are having a lot of fun, are enjoying one anothers’ company and the company of friends (his, hers and theirs) and, most importantly, having fun with the media. The publicity the relationship is garnering for their budding careers is priceless.
Well, I agree that Mark has been behaving self centeredly (is that a word?) lately, but I don’t think it’s really fair to look at how he handles the death of his grandfather. Everyone grieves in their own way and it’s pretty personal. People do whatever they have to in order to get through a situation and we don’t really know the dynamics within that family.
I agree with everything you said Deena, so now I don’t really have anything new to say besides I love Cheryl’s shirt and hair.
She looks gorgeous in that picture. I’m glad you posted about this Vogue – I saw them talking about it on Twitter but was too lazy to look up pictures/interviews from the event. Pure DWTS saves the day once again.
And welcome back Evaine!
You are right Heidi – people do grieve in different ways. I apologive if I offended anyone with my comments.
You didn’t offend me, Kate – I just thought it was important to point out that how someone handles death isn’t indicative of them as a whole.
Heidi – I think Mark is a great person, I do realize some people do not like him. I am really not a fan of Pia (in case you haven’t noticed). I was just surprised he wasn’t with his family since family is really important to him.
It surprised me too, Kate, to be honest. But after giving it some thought and having watched people around me after they’ve lost someone I’ve come to the conclusion that’s it’s just a difficult situation that everyone takes differently.
That is so true Heidi! I lost my brother when he was 26. Everyone in our family handled it differently…..and I have to admit, there are some of my family members that I would never want to be around in times of grief or otherwise. It just depends.
And Kate, I know what you mean about Pia. There is something about that hit me wrong from the first time I saw her on America Idol.
Wow the resemblance is amazing(like they were cloned! lol) My condolences to Mark and his family on their loss
[...] keep up with them all. For instance, Cheryl Burke was on the east coast this last weekend dancing with Mark at Harrah’s and then within a night or two she was dancing it up in Las Vegas again. Here she is with a friend [...]
