Shawn Marion, Teresa Giudice, Tiffani Thiessen “No-Go’s” For Dancing With The Stars 13?

In the last few days, there have been reports that several celebrities were either approached from Dancing With The Stars to do the show or turned down by them when they expressed interest.

For one, TMZ is reporting Dancing With The Stars sent Shawn Marion of the Dallas Maverick’s had an offer to do the show, but, he turned them down (too bad. I would have loved to see him dance on the show! Would you?). Here’s more….

Mavericks star Shawn Marion isn’t taking any chances with the NBA lockout — in fact, he just turned down “Dancing with the Stars” … to make sure he’s free to practice with his team this fall.

Sources close to Shawn tell TMZ, “Dancing” sent him an official offer to appear on the show, but the NBA champ wants to make sure he’s 100% available in case the lockout ends early … so it’s a no go.

“Dancing” would end in November and NBA season usually starts in October — which could put Marion in a difficult position if the upcoming season isn’t put on ice.

The Huffington Post is reporting “Saved By The Bell” Tiffani Thiessen has also been approached by Dancing With The Stars a few times in the past and she’s always said “No”. She said she might do the show later when she’s 50.

“I’ve been asked a few times, but my response to that is that I am an actor, not a dancer,” Thiessen tells me.

Admitting she never watched her former best friend, Jennie Garth Cha-cha-cha on the dance floor, Thiessen says she may take her turn on the televised dance floor when she gets older.

“I think I would rather be one of those 50 and above and going back to get into shape. They can ask me then.”

However, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice definitely wants to do the show, but, has been turned down. She said Dancing With The Stars doesn’t want ‘Housewives’ this season. But “Playmates are OK?” Here is more from Fox News. She sounds a little more than bitter.

In response to a fan’s recent tweet saying that she should be on the hit ABC competition dance show, Giudice wrote, “Would [love] to but they don’t want ‘Housewives’ this season. But Playmates are OK?” — a reference to past stints from Kendra Wilkinson, Holly Madison and Pamela Anderson.

Giudice’s seeming disappointment at being shut out of competing on the show came on the heels of her declaration to Us Weekly that “DWTS” is her favorite show.

The feisty Bravo star’s desire — and failure — to get on “DWTS” is turning into a yearly gripe.

Last year, she hinted on Twitter that she was asked to participate in the show.

“I am thinking about doing ‘Dancing With the Stars,'” she wrote in July 2010. “What do you guys think?”

She followed that tweet up with another, asking, “Who should I make them give me as a partner? [Dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy] is the hottest, no?”

Whatever producers decide on on her dancing future, please don’t put her with Maks!! Also, if they already have a reality star signed for this season, she needs to understand that one is enough. I would hope so anyway?

Special thanks to Vin for helping with this post!!!xxx

It’s National Dance Day!! Come Celebrate With This New Pure Dancing With The Stars Questionnaire!

It’s National Dance Day All!!! In honor of the event, let’s have another little Questionnaire. Thanks again for all of your responses to these in the past. You are an inspiration always. Ready? Here we go and have the best weekend!

1. Have you taken dance lessons in your lifetime? If so, what kind?

2. My favorite kind of Ballroom dance is ____________________.

3. Do you have any of the dance/work out DVDs from the pros? If so, which ones do you have?

4. If you could have one wish come true for Season 13 on Dancing With The Stars, what would it be?

5. If you could have lunch with any of the pros and interview them currently, which one would you pick? What would you want to ask them?

6. Get up and dance or move in any shape or form for National Dance Day! If you can’t, then invision it instead. Write the dance song you invisioned dancing to and/or that you picked or you are going to pick. Later, I’ll put the dance songs you picked into a special music post!

Ok, I’ll start us off;

1. I have taken ballet lessons several times when I was in gradeschool and then later in College for fun. I LOVED IT!

2. My favorite kind of ballroom dance is the Argentine Tango. I also love the Mambo.

3. I won the Dancing With The Stars Latin Cardio DVD with Cheryl and Maks last year! It’s a kick!! I’d highly recommend it!

4. My first wishes for the show have come true with Derek and Maks returning. Another wish is just to see some good “traditional” dancing!!!

5. I’d love to interview any of the pros. They are all fascinating. It’s hard to pick just one…but, if I had to do so, it would Maks and then Derek. I’d ask them more on their youth and dancing and who were their greatest mentors, etc.

6. I am invisioning myself dancing to Madonna’s “Music” single Music - Music (with Brad Pitt, then Maks! 😀 ) and I plan to do so right after posting this post! 🙂

Dancing With The Stars Mark Ballas And The Food Network’s Aaron Sanchez Exchange Dancing And Cooking Lessons For A Common Cause

Yesterday, Mark Ballas had fun opening the Crossroads at House of Blues restaurant with Chef Aaron Sanchez in Hollywood. ET Online was there to cover the event. They “exchange lessons for the ladies”. Mark teaches Aaron some dance moves while Aaron gives Mark some cooking tips. What do you think? Is there hope for either one? LOL The new restaurant opens to the public August 1st in Hollywood. Special thanks to PureDWTS reader Vin for sending us this news.

Alec Mazo And Edyta Sliwinska Premiere “Dance Temptation” In Niagara Falls

We may not be able to see these two talented and beautiful dancers on Dancing With The Stars any longer, but, Edyta Sliwinksa and Alec Mazo are still very much out there dancing. If you live in or are in the Niagara Falls area from now until August 6th, don’t miss seeing them in a new dance, music, and theatrical production called “Dance Temptation” at the Fallsview Casino Resort. The lead couple Matt & Jessica (played by Alec and Edyta) search for love as “they meet temptation at every turn, traveling the world and experiencing different cultures through famous dance styles”. Sounds cool, huh? The former Dancing With The Stars professionals came up with all of their own choreography for the show. You can read more about the show and get ticket information at the “Dance Temptation” website. According to Edyta at twitter, the theatre was full for opening night and what’s more, they received a “standing ovation”! She said, “After all the hard work it feels amazing”. Let’s hope this show hit’s the road and can be seen everywhere.

DWTS Kirstie Alley Once Addicted To Drugs And Now To Dance (David Letterman Video)

Last night, Kirstie Alley was a guest on David Letterman. They played “Pretty Woman” Oh, Pretty Woman - The Essential Roy Orbison for an introduction to her segment which I thought was cool and fitting for everything she’s been through with her weight issues and losing it. They start off talking about Dancing With The Stars. Kirstie said it was a lot of hard work, but fun. She also talks (jokes) of how she was mad and not really a good sport when she lost to Hines Ward. Dave also asks her about Maks and if they are dating. Kirstie said, “They have a great relationship that will last forever”. She also mentions how hard it was adjust to a regular life again after Dancing With The Stars. Because of this, she became a “clubber” in New York. She gives Dave an example of how people dance in clubs. LOL A must see if you missed it last night. The two are too funny as always. And doesn’t Kirstie look fantastic?

Lacey Schwimmer’s New Mini Music Tour And She Dishes On The New Things For Dancing With The Stars Season 13

Hollywood Scoop caught up with Lacey Schwimmer at the Lia Sophia Jewerly Industrielle II Launch in Hollywood this week to talk about Dancing With The Stars. Lacey says there are a “few new things” happening for this upcoming Season. She doesn’t reveal much except that she’s excited and we’ll still see some of the same dancers on the show. They also ask her on her dream partner. She wants someone funny, like John Heder from Napoleon Dynamite, but, she would also take Brad Pitt. They also discuss the recent death of Amy Winehouse, addictions, beauty tips, and more.

In other news on Lacey, she’s planning to do a new Mini Music Tour before the new season of Dancing With The Stars. Her “August” is going to be packed to say the least. She talks about it below in a new interview from Hollywood Dame. Much more at the link if interested.

How would you describe the sound of your music?
I’m a dancer and I have been one my entire life. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I wanted to make music to back that up, so I wanted to make dance music. It’s a little bit of pop, but it’s mostly dance.

How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?
I think that a lot of the top female pop stars are very character oriented. I mean, if you look at Lady Gaga, she’s a character. Ke$ha, Katy Perry, they’re also characters. But if you look at Beyonce, she is more of a performance act, and that’s awesome to watch. I am the only classically trained dancer out there, so that’s important to me to dance as much as I can when I’m performing.

What are some of your short-term and long-term goals you have lined out for yourself?
Music always has been a long term one. I want to make sure that regardless of what ever happens, music is involved somehow in my life because it’s such an inspiration to me. I’d like to get involved with more animal charities as much as I could. That’s a short term goal of mine. I’d like to buy a house too. I get really bored of apartments because I travel so much and live out of suitcases, that I want to come home and have it be my home. I’m a little scared about that though because I am only 23, but I feel as though that is a step that I should be taking.

What are your upcoming plans for promoting your music?
I’m going to be doing a mini US tour, going to clubs and locations for signings right before this season of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ so August is going to be really busy! I’ll be going to Miami, Texas, and doing more stuff in California. Then hopefully after the show I’ll be going overseas to the UK.

DWTS 13 Cast Rumor: Former U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner In Talks To Do Dancing With The Stars?

Ok, so this has to be the most outrageous of all the rumored contenders yet. 😕 I so hope this is NOT TRUE!!! I would bet that it isn’t. Yes, Dancing With The Stars might want the ratings….but, would they want it connected with Anthony Weiner? I would hope not. This would be like having Bristol Palin all over again too and WORSE! More below from Lime Life.

Apparently sextually scandalized U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner is in talks with producers to show his moves…but really, haven’t we seen enough of this guy?

Remember when Anthony Weiner was busted earlier this year for sending lewd images of himself to a 21-year-old woman from Washington State? We saw him in tighty-whities, and we’re not really game to see him in spandex. What are Dancing with the Stars producers thinking?

They’re thinking ratings. When we heard they were going big with their casting this season, we thought they meant Snooki and Mike Tyson (who are both rumored to be in talks with casting directors for this fall’s season 13). But rumor has it Anthony Weiner is indeed in the midst of a deal to star on the ABC reality series. Insiders say the drawers — er, draw — is that figures related to politics (think Bristol Palin) bring in big viewership, especially when they’re known for being controversial.

UPDATE:: Extra talked with Anthony Weiner’s Rep today. Apparently, Weiner isn’t “hot” for Dancing With The Stars and isn’t interested in this kind of exposure. Shewwww…we can all take a sigh of relief now.

Tom Bergeron Talks On The New Dancing With Stars Requirements And More On The View!

As we reported to you earlier and in case you missed it, Tom Bergeron was a guest on The View Wednesday. We were hoping to find just his segment on the show, but, unfortunately, and for now, all we have is the full episode which you can watch >>>>HERE. The View girls start out by talking about their debate Tuesday and the rumors about the show wanting bigger celebrities and how one of the things they plan to do is give the celebrities more control over rehearsal times, etc.. Tom says the hours put in don’t always equate to “good dancing” (which is true. Some people are just naturally gifted). Tom also says Dancing With The Stars has always tried to get bigger names to do the show and nothing is really any different. They also talk about the celebrities having free reign over their costumes and “bird feathers” (lol). They talk of Tom’s Emmy nomination as well. Sherri also asks him what it’s going to take for her to be asked to do the show (she’s in total agony dying to dance! LOL). Tom Bergeron, as always, is at his funniest. Be sure to watch.

TMZ Reporting Rob Kardashian Has Signed To Do Dancing With The Stars

More and more it sounds like this rumor is coming true and it’s possibly a done deal? Today TMZ is reporting Rob Kardashian has signed to do Dancing With The Stars this upcoming season. Below is a take from the link.

Another member of the Kardashian Klan has agreed to compete on the next season of “Dancing with the Stars” TMZ has learned … but it ain’t Khloe … or Kourtney … or Kris — it’s a dude!

Multiple sources confirm … Rob Kardashian is officially on board — despite concerns about the “Dancing” schedule conflicting with Kim’s super MEGA wedding in August. We’re told the two sides addressed the issue and hammered out a plan — and Rob signed on the dotted line.

Hmmm? As always, stay cautious and don’t believe everything you hear until we hear it officially from Dancing With The Stars themselves.

I’m game, if true. Let’s see you bring it Rob and I hope it’s with Anna or Kym! 🙂

L.A. Laker Ron Artest In Talks To Do Dancing With The Stars?

As fans to Dancing With The Stars know, we can’t ignore TMZ when it comes to rumors. Today the tabloid news site is reporting L.A. Laker Ron Artest in talks with the show to dance. He may have some rehearsal issues though if the NBA resolves the lockout, but, not if producers change the “requirements”. Could this be why they did so?

Nothing’s official yet — but sources tell us, both Artest and “Dancing” producers have been in touch to hash out a possible deal … and Ron’s pretty excited about the prospect.

But here’s the catch — “Dancing” won’t end ’til November and basketball season typically starts in October … which means if the lockout ends early, Ron could be S.O.L.

That said, Ron could theoretically handle both commitments simultaneously — because as TMZ first reported, “Dancing” producers are desperate for A-list talent … so there will be NO minimum rehearsal requirement next season.

So what do you think if this comes true and who do you see Ron paired with? I can see him with Cheryl!!!
