DWTS Maksim Chmerkovskiy Attends The Salsa Rengue 3 Anniversary In Montreal, Canada
Twitter is alive today with several Maksim Chmerkovskiy fans raving about the time he spent in Montreal, Canada last night. Maks came to the city to take part in the Salsa Rengue 3 Anniversary. PureDWTS reader Evaine was able to attend the event and met him at a fan meet and greet. She described Maks as “a lovely, lovely man” and he was “sweet and charming.” She said he smelled good of a “very light, nice scent” too (which is what I was wondering about. 
). In fact, someone asked Maks what cologne he wore and he “couldn’t quite believe that people really wanted to know this”. According to Evaine, Maks was “assured by everyone that we did indeed want to know”. He answered, but there was so much noise that Evaine or her friend were able to catch his answer (LOL!!!).
Evaine also said Maks looked “RIGHT into your eyes” when you talked to him. The Snooki rumors were brought up as well to which Maks didn’t sound too approving of like many of us.
Maks also mentioned “working for the cause of Ukrainian orphans in conjunction with ABC” which Evaine wonders if this is why he returned for another season of Dancing With The Stars? If Evaine hears more in her local papers, she said she’ll be sure to let us know.

So great for the Montrealers who were able to meet Maks last night, especially those ladies who got to dance with him. Here’s hoping he’ll visit my neck of the woods after next DWTS season. Also nice to know how sweet and personal he is with the fans (I like that he looks directly into people’s eyes – I do that also when I speak with people, so I like that). I also hear that Hope Solo is now contemplating doing DWTS – it looks like the show reached out to her and she’s actually considering Maks’ earlier offer. It’ll be interesting to watch this play out. If she does do the show, she’d better do well – otherwise Maks will have no-one to blame but himself since he chose her and she’s warned him she can’t dance.
I think it’s MUCH more likely that Maks was told he had a shot and then started campaigning for her. I doubt very much that any of the pros have the pull to actually get someone on the show or offer anyone a shot on the show. It’s not their job or their place. It’s a nice dream though – some of their dream partners are a great idea.
OMG Evaine. Have you stopped breathing into a brown paper bag yet!!! I bet you were speechless.
I’m still pretty much on a high, I have to admit, but… when it was my turn to get my pic taken with him, I managed NOT to turn speechless and was able to tell him how much I loved his and Erin’s freestyle and that I thought it was one of the bravest chances I’d ever seen on DWTS. THAT’S when I got the big Maks For-Reals grin! THAT nearly dropped me. He said, “Really? Well thank you very much, that’s very sweet of you.” I nearly died. *LOL* But he put his arm around me so we could take our pic and maybe I was shaking ’cause he gave my back a little comforting rub. HEAVEN!
And I gotta tell you, I was really worried – as you get – to be meeting a ‘star’, you know? Worried that he’d be a douche bag as some of them are, but MAN, no, he wasn’t! I’m still walking around with Davy Jones Eyes, for those of you old enough to remember. *LOL*

Oh, another thing that came from the Q&A session was a question about Maks every moving to LA or back to the Ukraine. OMG! He couldn’t say it fast enough or strong enough or with enough emotion. NEW YORK IS MY HOME – FOREVER!! (He’s really not fond of many aspects of Hollywood, I must say. He was quite um… obvious about his total dislike of Jake Pavelka and used him as an illustration of just about everything wrong with La-la-land. And he got a TON of cheers about that. *g*) He was also quite complimentary on our So You Think You Can Dance Canada and mentioned his respect for his friend Jean-Marc Genereux. (4 Ballroom dancers in our Top !0 as of tonight’s elimination BTW). He also said he really couldn’t pic a favorite dance because it would be like picking a favorite child… but then, so he wouldn’t cop out, actually admitted – to my and many others’ surprise – that if he had to pick one, it would be the Foxtrot. Then the Argentine Tango.. then the… Face it, the man just loves to dance. *g*
He responded to a question about his love life stating that all he really had to do was find someone who could put up with his insane life and that’s really asking a lot and he doesn’t really think it’s fair to ask it of anyone.
Okay, if I think of more, I’ll be back. *LOL*

Evaine, it sounds like Maks is going to have to marry a woman who is willing to be a bi-coastal housewife who doesn’t mind him traveling a lot and/or is willing to travel with him. Anyone here up for the challenge?!
