Is Model Elisabetta Canalis Signed To Dance On Dancing With The Stars 13??
E Online is reporting that former girlfriend of Geroge Clooney and model, Elisabetta Canalis, has been signed to dance on Dancing With The Stars. Here is a take of what they are reporting….
According to sources, George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has signed on to the upcoming 13th season of Dancing With the Stars. ABC does not comment on casting rumors, and the new cast will be announced during Bachelor Pad on Aug. 29. However, insiders tell us the Italian model will be on board.
Elisabetta would be following in the footsteps of Clooney’s rumored new girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, who starred in the second season of DWTS. Canalis also would be pulling a Melissa Rycroft, bouncing back from a very public split by shaking her groove thing.
She’d be perfect! I hope this rumor is true. I can see her dancing with Tony or Dmitry….maybe even Derek? What do you think?
If she is on, she’d be HOT with Maks! Very beautiful woman.
This might be relevant, it’s probably not, but… Monday night, Maks mentioned how much he loves Italy and how he spent some time living outside Rome and all. It’s just one of those little things that makes go a little hmmmm… *g*
I did a quick google search and according to what I found she is 5 ft 7.
So I’m guessing she will be paired with Derek if she’s on this season – based on height and his previous partnerships with Shannon, Brooke and Joanna.

Hmmm… I don’t know about this rumor…. Not sure how I feel if she’s on the show, especially if Kristin Cavalleri is on, also.
I mean, both have fairly recently ended relationships, and between them and Melissa Rycroft, I don’t want people thinking that the next move after a split is DWTS! If they have just one, maybe…. Both? Might be a bit much.
But, the producers do seem to love overkill.
I think Elisabetta is more likely to be A list than Kristin, but that being said, the Kristin rumours sounds pretty solid, so… WHO THE HELL KNOWS! *LOL*
Remember between now and the official date of August 29 we are going to hear nothing but names of people doing the show non-stop!

Maddy, where did you see something more on Chaz? I did a search and can’t find anything but the pulled story at Extra. There is a story at the Daily Mail of him in a new beard, but, they didn’t say anything about him doing DWTS.

Keep dreaming Elmary. The pic above was taken years ago when she was younger and more “fleshy” and is also superphotoshopped (even her several tattoos on both her arms have disappeared…by miracle!!). She is 33 now and you can count her ribs on her chest and her face is very manly. In Italy they call her horseface.

Oh, please not Elisabetta. Really now….because she is an A listers ex she deserves to be on the show? Let her be on the Italian version. At least you can excuse the Bachelor/ettes because of the ABC tie-in.
This sort of reminds me of when Heather Mills was on the show. I kept wondering, “How are they going to introduce her?” Then on show night it was, “Humanitarian Heather Mills.” How are they going to announce Elisabetta? “George Clooney’s cast-off Elisabetta Canalis!” I think she’s pretty, but really, would would any of us know who she is if she hadn’t dated Clooney?

I’m not saying that I want Elisabetta on the show, but I can’t see why she shouldn’t be allowed to do it because she dated an A-lister. Personally I was much more irritated by the fact that Bristol Palin was on the show, than I will be if Elisabetta is on this season.

I’m not saying Elisabetta shouldn’t do the show. I was just making the point that her love life is basically what elevated her celebrity. I’ve actually seen her on some TV shows, and she’s not too shabby as an actress. To be honest, I look for her to become more successful after the break-up.

I only mentioned it because I’ve never heard Maks talk about Italy before and trust me… I have watched/read/listened to a TON of interviews and stuff.

Er, no, neither Elisabetta nor Kristin is A list. This show won’t get true A list. GEORGE CLOONEY is A list – Elisabetta doesn’t get that status just for sleeping with him. That’s benefit enough.
Jen Gray and Kirstie Alley are as close as they’ve come to true Hollywood Star Power. And believe it or not, Cloris is old Hollywood A List, IMO. Reality Show chicks and ex-girlfriends need not apply to A List.
I can’t imagine George Clooney doing the show. Other than his good looks (I dont think he is as handsome as he used to be) he doesnt seem very exciting, rather boring.
I see great eye-candy with George, but thats it. I would much rather have John Stamos on the show than I would George.
As an avid fan of the show, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had one reaction to the announcement of certain celebs for this show, and then in short order have done a 180. More often than not, my initial “OMG WTF” words are quickly eaten as I discover these people have more depth and humanity than I originally surmised …and that I would never have discovered were it not for DWTS.
I’m not a dancer myself, and ultimately applaud anyone with the hutzpah to take this on.
That having been said, I’m not a huge fan of the Bachelor/ette/pad contingent on our favorite show (admittedly, exceptions do make the rule). And I’m not sure I’m a fan of opening the door for a have-slept-with-someone-famous contingent. Yes, Elisabetta has a career and celebrity in Italy, and so should definitely do the Italian DWTS. Not sure anyone in America would even know who she is were it not for the Clooney connection.
They’ll introduce her as an International Model & Actress. She turn out to be an intelligent woman who works hard and has a quirky sense of humor …and she’ll dance well to boot, be paired with either Derek or Maks, and be charming & sweet & charismatic all over the place.

IMO, Donny & Marie are the most “star power” celebrities the show has had.
Kirstie and Jennifer definitely were amazing though.
They would introduce Elisabetta as “Actress and Model”, i’d assume she would be similar to Rachel Hunter. She is famous for dating someone famous, but she has done a tiny bit of Hollywood acting/modelling. Not enough to class her as a star in her own right though.
I wouldn’t be against having Elisabetta on the show. Her name is intriguing.

Evaine, I read before that Maks had said he lived in Italy for about 8 months (I think) and how much he loved it. But then, who wouldn’t love living in Italy for a while. He was speaking about his earlier competitive dancing career, so I think his time in Italy was part of that.
Elizabetta would be more of a ‘B-list’ celebrity in my books. But that’s okay – DWTS can’t fill each season with only A-listers. I assume they’re aiming for 1 or 2 A-listers per season (they do have to spread them out since a whole bunch of A-listers stepping on one another/eliminating one another during the same season wouldn’t be conducive to the happiness of said A-listers or to the show’s ability to continue to attract A-listers). So a couple of A-listers, a couple of B-listers and the rest of the cast consisting of D-listers would make for an interesting group of celebrities.
Extremely photoshopped, she doesn’t even look like herself and this is a very old pic when she had more meat on her bones, now she is scary thin….and all her tattoos have disappeared…….the magic of Photoshop!.
