Love the video! Two things I noticed: First, Chaz is not afraid to just go for it, and that could go a long way for him! Second thing, the look on Tristan’s face when Nancy asks if he was even born in ’79 is PRICELESS! Love it!

I really can’t wait for the season to start!! I’m getting excited. I don’t like that the first week has an elimination. I like it better when we see them dance for two weeks and then have an elimination. Maybe they can dance for two weeks and eliminate two contestants, then we can at least see what they can bring. The first week is more about nerves getting out there on the dance floor that you really can’t see what they can do.

But, you know, it’s hard to pick just three..I’ll have to see them dance before I’ll zero in for sure. I like that Chaz doesn’t seem inhibited by his obvious bulk..He’ll probably trim down considerably, and it seems that Kirstie Alley has paved the way for some less than svelte ladies to give it a try. Good for them. I think they’ll be pleased with the encouragement they’re going to get.
I don’t get all the Val and Elisabetta love, when her name was announced most of us were like Elisabetta Who?
Nancy and Tristan are winning me over more and more every time I see them.
Chaz seems like he will be loads of fun on the show, I hope he sticks around for awhile.
David and Kym I voted as one of my top three, But I have to say I’m kind of on the fence with these two. I hope they blow me away on premiere night.
I love Derek but somehow Ricki is not shining enough for me. So I am kind of concerned for these two.
And JR is just too inspiration to be forgotten, I have a feeling JR will steal the show come premiere night…….
How can Ricki shine when we’ve seen nothing on her and Derek?? It annoys me that if you don’t follow her on Twitter, you wouldn’t know she was on the show. Luckily she does have one of the larger fanbases on the show of people who are likely to vote, so that’s helpful.
Same goes for David, actually. Interesting that Ricki and David are probably two of the better know people on the season and are getting so little attention. But the media do tend to go where the story is, and that’s going to be Chaz…and Elisabetta due to the Clooney connection. But that will only take you so far.
@Heidi – You are absolutely right. My reasoning is probably because I know who RIcki is and I have seen her many, many times, there is no surprise yet. Some of these others are surprising me with how much I like them. I am intrigued. We all love surprises right! I dont know what to make of David so far either.
I am thrilled Derek is back but until I see more these two interacting together, I can only say how I am feeling right now..:)

This is the first time I’ve seen the photos. Therefore, I’ll post my first reactions to each photo:
Lacey and Chaz
I don’t like the puffy bottom of Lacey’s dress. Chaz just seems to be saying I’m here and I’m smiling. As for the dancing in the video—Lacey has her work cut out for her.
Maks and Hope
They look good together. She is playing to the camera and he seems focused on her. Look out showmance rumors.
And here are the rest, Carson and Anna
Carson is way too serious and robotic and Anna is just posed. Picture just doesn’t represent what we’ve seen so far of this pairing.
David and Kym
Love the dress! David looks like he is going for the suave leading man look.
Rob and Cheryl
Both are playing to the camera. They look good together.
Ricki and Derek
They look good together! Ricki’s dress is really flattering. They both have big smiles on their faces and that just appears to show that they are having fun. Ricki’s pose promises “you ain’t seen anything yet
JR and Karina….
Prom pose, but I did notice the pointed toes! Not sure that I like Karina in heavy bangs. Not crazy about JR’s smoking jacket! Dude is only what 28? Like to see him in something younger looking!
Elisabetta and Val….
This one is weird for me because her legs look like they are photo shopped too low in the photo. Also, don’t care for the blocked view of Val’s face.
Ron and Peta….
Hate this one. Her hair is awful and I don’t even like his smile–looks plastered on. I HATE the pose too.
Chynna and Tony
I would have liked this photo more if Tony’s arm wasn’t in such a dramatic pose. It separates them and makes them look like individuals and not a team.
Kristin and Mark
OF course Mark has to make the photo all about him and his damn shoes. Kristin is just added on in the photo. Mark does look much better with hair—-see I can be nice. LOL
Nancy and Tristan
I hate his hair (too poufy) and the dress isn’t flattering to Nancy. I’d have liked to see Nancy in a ball gown without so much cleavage showing.
A lot will change as soon as the season starts and we’ll see who r the contenders and who r the pretenders.
P.S. Don’t forget that Elisabetta can dance.
Maddy – I need EVIDENCE of Elisabetta’s ringer status please. I’ll be happy to use it in my upcoming post, but you don’t get to just make the claim and hope you’re right.
@Sandy- I am with you as I was not understanding all the love for Elisabetta and Val either. Nothing against her, but it just kind of surprised me considering she is more unknown here. Heidi- You made good points, which makes sense. Thanks Heidi!
I am just thrilled that Derek is back. Hopefully Ricki and him will get some press soon and we get to see her personality shine.

Elisabetta did dancing in an Italian music video. I saw clips last night on one of the infotainment shows. And if they’re basing her probability of winning on that, well… *snort* … they need to go watch it again. She looked very awkward and clumsy to my eyes. It was more about showing off her prettiness and great bod, if you ask me. And she does have both of those!
Yeah, I don’t really see that giving her ringer status. Much like movies that have a bit of dancing, editing can cover a good bit. It’s hilarious because I was watching Hairspray the other day too – can’t really see giving glorified line dancing to 50′s music ringer status either. Same reason I haven’t given Brandy ringer status.

I’m not a fan of Chaz, but his smile is rather infectious and he doesn’t seem inhibited at all. David did look a little frantic. There may be some surprises this season.

Karina looks so comfortable with JR trying with him that balance pose that nicole and derek did on “lady-in-red-rumba”. hope JR can dance!

Ron and Peta-I know many aren’t fond of this pic, but I like their playful chemistry and I’m ecstatic that DWTS finally made Peta a pro.
Sort of apropos of not much, I just caught Kristin on Access Live and was very pleased to see that the young lady has a much more vivacious personality than her castmate Audrina had. *phew*

I toyed with Ron/Peta because I love the originality, but there’s just something a touch off about the hidden leg.

I liked Ron and Petas costumes, but I just didn’t like the pose. I couldn’t keep myself from thinking she post her leg. It was either hidden really well, or photoshopped out. It just looked weird, sorry.
I’m waiting to decide once they’ve all danced the first night. It’s takes the ability to dance, looking good on the dance floor and not having the “deer caught in the headlights” expression the first night.
