Val Chmerkovskiy Helps Dancing With The Stars Partner Elisabetta Canalis Launch New Peta Campaign

Yesterday, Elisabetta Canalis unveiled her new PETA campaign In Beverly Hills. There to help her launch the campaign was her Dancing With The Stars partner Val Chmerkovskiy. In a quote on the show from the Daily Mail, she said…

‘At the beginning, I thought, this is a very famous TV program in United States (and) I’m very happy they asked me to do it.

‘But now, I’m realising that it’s a lot of work because me and Val, we are working tough everyday, six hours, it’s like an athlete training, so I was not really used to doing it. But I’m so excited to do it.’

In a new Wet Paint interview, Val says their biggest challenge dancing is their language barriers, but, the advantages are Elisabetta’s personality and her flexibility. According to a source at Rumorfix, the two have “strong chemistry”. We will soon see. Five more days and counting!!

Ricki Lake Hoping To Help Derek Hough Get His 4th Dancing With The Stars Mirror Ball (New Rehearsal Video)

Do you not love all of the new Dancing With The Stars rehearsal videos?!! Here’s another with Ricki and Derek today from ET!! Ricki says ‘get ready to dance’! Derek says all he needs is a partner who is “willing” like Ricki and he can make it work. You can see them dancing in several shots. Ricki looks so light on her feet. Beautiful!

For even more things on Derek and this fun couple, be sure to see Pure Derek Hough. I can’t wait to see who wins the T Shirt Contest currently being held there.

DWTS 13 Tristan Macmanus And Nancy Grace Talk On Dancing, Chaz Bono, And More! (Video)

Last night, Tristan and Nancy were on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight. Tristan does the tongue thing while they tease each other. Nancy says she’s going to make Tristan take his shirt off if she screws up. Her goal for the first night is to stay “vertical”. She goes after AJ (like only she can do! lol) wanting his “loyalty” vote.

You can see even more of this interview below too where she defends Chaz and more. Thanks to Magnolia and her Tristan Facebook page for this video.

Rob Kardashian Says Dancing Is A Great Workout In New Dancing With The Stars Rehearsal Interview

Rob Kardashian tells Access Hollywood his Mom wanted him to do Dancing With The Stars, but, at the end of the day it was his decision. Cheryl says it hasn’t been “hard” working with Rob, but “refreshing”. She further comments they are having a great time. Rob also talks of what a great work out dancing has been preparing for a slow dance the first week and the Jive the second week (if he makes it). All this and more below…

So, who thinks Rob will make it past week 3 like he hopes? I can’t see it, but, I hope I am proved wrong.

DWTS13 Preliminary Power Rankings, Part I

It’s time once again for me to dust off my crystal ball and attempt (often in vain) to predict who the winners & losers of the season will be 🙂 Most of you are probably familiar with the power rankings, but if you aren’t, here’s a quick run-down: I do a power ranking after each performance show that ranks the couples from most likely to stay to most likely to go home – it’s essentially a prediction of who’s going home and who’s got staying power.  And kids, please – keep in mind that it’s not based solely on scores, or popularity, or running order, etc. It’s a complex formula of many factors – fanbase, dance ability, entertainment value, choreography, scores, yadda yadda yadda.  And before the season starts, I like to do a “preliminary” ranking – a prediction that just takes into account what we know about the couples right now, without ever having seen them dance live (rehearsal videos don’t count – those can differ drastically from the final product!).  Make sense? Keep in mind that this is just my opinion – differing ones are welcome and great to discuss, and there are no right or wrong answers 😉 So let’s start with places 12 through 7 – the couples that I don’t see lasting past the midpoint of the season.

12.) Ron Artest & Peta Murgatroyd – I really want Peta to stick around for at least a few weeks this season to show us what she can do, but unfortunately, I’ve got a lot of reservations about Ron…and it kinda stinks that Peta’s so new that her fanbase is likely not going to be able to compensate for a lack of support on Ron’s behalf.   First of all, the physical problem: Ron’s 6’7″ and Peta’s 5’7″, so even with heels on, Peta’s gonna have quite a bit of height to make up for.  It’s not impossible (ask Cheryl, who at 5’4″ partnered 6’7″ Rick Fox somewhat effectively in season 11), but it’s not necessarily easy or visually-pleasing, either.  Ron’s an athlete, so that might help a bit – but not all of the athletes that have done the show have been natural movers (Clyde Drexler comes to mind).  Now the greyer area: Ron’s never been one to hold his tongue, and he’s infamous for rather erratic behavior.  He’s come a long way since the infamous Pacers/Pistons brawl, but he’s still kinda wacky…and I’m honestly not sure whether that’s a boon or a burden when it comes to fanbase.  He’s well-known, but I’m interested to see how many people he’s turned off with his antics.  Another potential problem: from the few videos I’ve seen of he & Peta so far, I’m not picking up a lot of chemistry. I get this feeling this could be a rather awkward pair to watch interact.  On top of that, I’ve been hearing murmurings that Ron has been showing up considerably late for practice, and has only wanted to practice for an hour or so at a time. A lack of commitment this early in the season? Sounds like a harbinger of doom to me.  I really want Peta to stick around, and I’m hoping Ron proves me wrong…but I’m just not optimistic. Read more..

DWTS 2011 Peta Murgatroyrd And Ron Artest New ESPN Interview In Rehearsals (Video)

ESPN has a great new interview up with Ron Artest and Peta Murgatroyd in rehearsals for Dancing With The Stars. They ask Ron if he can dance and he says he was a big fan to Michael Jackson in his teens. Does that count? He says his dancing strength is “pizza”. lol Cute interview. See if he doesn’t have the dance moves down so far to be a serious contender like I think he does….especially with Peta saying how well he “lifts”. I can’t embed it for some reason, but, you can view it >>>>HERE.
