William Baldwin Convinced Chynna Phillips To Do Dancing With The Stars! (Video)

Finally, a little promotion from the Tony and Chynna camp!! Chynna sat down with Access Hollywood this morning to talk on her dancing. She said she was the one instructing at first, so, Tony had to set her straight. Rehearsing has been intense. Chynna thought she was in shape before beginning this journey, but, she soon found out she was using muscles she never had. Everything is hurting …even her eyeballs. Her husband William Baldwin is the reason she did the show. More below and be sure to check out the title shoot scenes they show periodically.

Sneak Peek Into The New Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Set!

We will have to wait until Monday night to see the full new set of Dancing With The Stars, but today, ABC has released a “featurette” with production designer James Yarnell who describes a little of what it’s like.

Among the enhancements to the set, which has been built completely from scratch as opposed to other seasons: the dance floor is raised above the audience and judges and will provide a full 360 degree view; the set size has expanded to exploit the studio space, including the use of three balcony tiers; the celebrities and professionals will make their grand entrance through the center of the stage as opposed to the staircases on the sides; and it will feature what may be ‘the largest mirror ball in North America.’

Hope Solo On Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Her Competitors, And More On Dancing With The Stars!

Grantland.com has a great interview up with Hope Solo. She talks of how competitive she is. She lives for it. It makes her life complete. But, she also talks of how she can’t dance. Maks tells her to try and just enjoy it. Hope also talks on a few of her fellow cast members. She thinks David Arquette is the front-runner. Below are a few takes, but, be sure to read the link for the full interview! Thanks to @NatashaS428 at twitter for the heads up, you can also listen to Hope talking about soccer, the show, and Maks in a new radio interview at the 6 minute mark >>>>HERE.

Were you at all hesitant to get into something competitive again, right after the World Cup?
I live for competition. It makes my life complete. My life goes in four-year cycles. The World Cup is every four years and the Olympics are every four years. That’s how we base our personal lives — that’s how some players decide when they have families. The off years? They’re not that fun, to be honest! You crave intensity. And [Dancing With the Stars] is intense! It’s grueling, it’s hard. I know at the end of it I’m going to be proud of what I accomplished, but right now it’s not easy. My dance partner Maks [Chmerkovskiy] keeps telling me to try and enjoy it. But I didn’t need a break from competition. I just needed a break from diving on my shoulder.

How does the training compare to the training you do for soccer?
It’s hard. Maks is very direct with me. There are a lot of things you have to figure out that people don’t realize. Having your hips go one way, your head up, your neck straight, your arm positioned in a certain way; there are so many technical things. It’s like soccer: putting together five to 10 different things in one play. So it definitely reminds me of my training. I really do appreciate Maks, for bringing that. I don’t want a soft dance teacher.

As a goalkeeper, you’re in charge of marshaling your defense and making sure everyone is where they need to be. Is it difficult to be the one getting instructions now?
No. I mean, I can’t dance. Maks is a professional. I have no problem getting instructions. And I assure you, he gives them.

Talk to me a bit about your fellow competitors.
Well, Ricki Lake is such a sweetheart. She seems so graceful on the dance floor. I think she’s gonna do really well. She has some experience, so she’s ahead of the game.

Chaz Bono, I had no idea what to expect. But he can kind of bust a move. And he works as hard as anybody. Very, very nice guy. Ron Artest is just a goofball. He’s always filming on his video camera, and he shows up late.

Who do you think is the front-runner this season?
I think David Arquette, because he’s such a free-spirited guy. You can see that he’s not going to hold back. And you can tell he really wants this.

ADDING: Maks has a new blog up at TV Guide. He talks of how he and Hope are doing with only a few more days until premiere time. More in a take below. Be sure to read the full blog. Maks writes about Val and his dog’s birthday too.

Well, the big day is almost here. Everything’s great. We’ve been busy the past few weeks traveling for Hope’s pre-Olympic training and games. We’re in Kansas City right now, where she has a game, so she’s been splitting her time between dancing, training and competing. I’m just trying not to be too distracting! I feel good with what we have, so the traveling and her maybe not being able to devote more time to dancing doesn’t really worry me. She has the routine down. We really can’t complain about anything. There’s never a perfect partner as far as someone who’s perfect and a perfect situation. There’s always something — drama, injury, a difficult schedule or some type of problem. Having said that, I think we’re in a good situation. We’re not crazy. It’s been quite calm and drama-free.

DWTS13 Nancy Grace And Tristan MacManus Excited And Planning To Have Fun! (Videos)

Extra starts off this fun interview by asking Nancy Grace on her weight. She says nothing and just stares at (or more like “through”, lol) the interviewer for a moment and then asks, “Are you suggesting I need to lose weight?” LOL She talks of how much her “feet” are effected by dancing versus her “booty”. Tristan joins in with his arm around her neck and dishes on her determination and ‘flying’ abilities. Cute cute interview!

Here they are on Good Morning America as well!! “Conflict” is a great motivating tool for Nancy. LOL I so love these two!! I can’t get enough of their humor and chemistry! She gives us some hints on her costumes too!

DWTS13 Preliminary Power Rankings, Part II

So we had some good discussion over part I of my rankings, where I predicted the couples who wouldn’t make it past the halfway point of the show.  Now let’s move onto the good part, shall we? Here’s the couples I see advancing further in the competition…

6.) Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas – Do I think Kristin will be a great dancer this season? No.  But I do think she’ll be at least an ok dancer, and having Mark will likely keep her in the competition until at least the midpoint of the season – provided he doesn’t make an ass of himself the way he did last season.  He may have gotten away with it because Chelsea was a good dancer and he could rely on some inflated scores from the judges, but I don’t think he’ll have the same safety net with Kristin – she seems like a nice, very pretty girl, but not the same sparkling personality that Chelsea was and likely not as good of a dancer.  I think Kristin will be more on-par with a Melissa Joan-Hart or a Shannen Doherty – nice enough, and an ok dancer…but won’t make much of an impact.  As for fanbase – we saw how well The Hills/Laguna Beach fanbase came through for Audrina, and I daresay Audrina is probably going to end up being the better dancer of the two…so I don’t think she can rely much on the MTV crowd for an assist.  Mark’s fanbase (and some less popular contestants) will probably keep her afloat for a little while, but up against more vibrant, popular couples? I don’t think she’ll have the juice. Read more..

Go Joy Behar On The Chaz Bono Dancing With The Stars Controversy! (Interview)

This is one of the best interviews yet with Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer. Take a listen to their interview on the Joy Behar Show last night. They talk about dancing and the hatred and ignorance of others…especially so-called psychologists. Sad!! Joy doesn’t hold anything back for how she feels about it. She also has a thing or two to say about Sarah and Bristol Palin. The only thing I didn’t like is how she had to asking him about his shaving, etc.. Anyway, well worth the 14 minutes to listen!!

Ryan O’Neal Plans To Win The Mirror Ball On Dancing With The Stars 2012

As reported to you earlier, a knee injury prevented Ryan O’Neal from “Dancing with the Stars” this season, but in a new Access Hollywood interview, Ryan told Access that he’ll be back next year and he plans on winning the mirror ball on Dancing with the Stars 2012! Note below how he said he has signed on and promised to do the show.

“I have one good knee. I had it redone. So I decided if I was really gonna do the show I should have my knee redone because the first one really works,” Ryan told Access on Wednesday night at an event hosted by Give Back Hollywood event for The Farrah Fawcett Foundation in Los Angeles.

“So I’ll get one more [good knee] then I’ll prepare for next season because I had to sign on, I had to give them [a] promise I would be on next season,” the 70-year-old actor continued. “I will win. I will win. If the gods are with us, I will win. I’m a pretty good dancer.”

Adding, “I’ll get one [knee] done in month and I guess I’ll learn the splits.”

I’m excited. I always liked Ryan and I hope he can do the show next season. There has been some rumors floating about that he didn’t dance this season because he doesn’t like Nancy Grace. Even if he doesn’t, I don’t think he’d let that stop him from dancing this season. But, who knows?
