DWTS13 Nancy Grace And Tristan MacManus Excited And Planning To Have Fun! (Videos)
Extra starts off this fun interview by asking Nancy Grace on her weight. She says nothing and just stares at (or more like “through”, lol) the interviewer for a moment and then asks, “Are you suggesting I need to lose weight?” LOL She talks of how much her “feet” are effected by dancing versus her “booty”. Tristan joins in with his arm around her neck and dishes on her determination and ‘flying’ abilities. Cute cute interview!
Here they are on Good Morning America as well!! “Conflict” is a great motivating tool for Nancy. LOL I so love these two!! I can’t get enough of their humor and chemistry! She gives us some hints on her costumes too!

T & N are cracking me up! She is funny, and I love how they play off each other as if they’ve known each other for a long time. I think we can expect great things from this partnership!

I NEVER would have predicted this chemistry and I LOVE this couple!!
One of my favorite couples this season. Never thought I would say that.. Love Tristan and Nancy together, these two may be a surprise on the dancefloor as well, their chemistry is amazing. They may last well past the midpoint this season, and that would be fine by me…. Is it Monday yet?
Nancy and Tristan, at this point, are heavily dependent on what kind of edit they get on Monday night. 90% of the people watching the show have seen very little if any of the entertainment shows and interviews. I rode in a car to a project site this morning with two guys who were grousing about Nancy on DWTS (yes, two GUYS) and both said they couldn’t stand her and couldn’t stand that she was on DWTS. I tried to tell them that she was coming off as likeable, but they didn’t care.
Yes, this is very annecdotal and means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I am just making the point that they will rely on the edit more than anyone else on the show, most likely.
Heidi, you are so right, and I’m sure that’s a concern to them, especially since this season doesn’t really have a definitive “villain” yet. I would hate for Nancy to be protrayed that way because everything I’ve seen and heard (publically and not) has been great. She and Tristan have undeniable chemistry, and they seem to be genuinely enjoying the partnership. Also, from what I’ve seen of her rehearsal footage, she’s going to surprise a lot of people in a good way. But I think her struggle is going to be showing her personality during the performance because voters won’t vote just based on rehearsal clips. So, I’m very much hoping for a good “edit” Monday night.
How much longer?
I hope they get a good edit & she can dance because I would like to see more of them. Like their banter and have become a big Tristan fan.
The TMZ interview was quite funny as well. At one point, Harvey asked Tristan what he thought after he met Nancy, and Tristan says (something to the effect of), “Damn, it’s going to be a long few weeks!” Nancy said she had a dream about dancing and turned to Tristan, “You weren’t in the dream, so don’t go there!” They are too funny, and to be honest, she’s shaping up to be a pretty good dancer. I hope they hang around for a bit!!!

Heidi – I’m not really worried about their edit at all, because from what I’ve seen there’s nothing At All to put her in a bad light. They’re sweet to each other, they joke, she’s quiet and focused but sometimes ribs him and gives back to him. If they give them a bad edit it will be a total lie.
Before going into this I was probably as big a Nancy Grace hater as anyone else.

I just love all the press we’re getting from these two! They just click, and it’s great to watch them together. I’d like to think TPTB couldn’t come up with a bad package for them but those diabolical fiends are capable of the most amazing snip-snip work and could have made Mother Theresa look bad.
Like Heidi, I’m also a bit concerned about her high negatives. This very morning, my husband said “hope Nancy Grace is the first to go”. That from a man who has never, in all the seasons I’ve talked about DWTS, shown the slightest interest in any other celeb I’ve mentioned (either positively or negatively). If that’s a sample of the general reaction to Nancy, T&N are in trouble.
Really hope we’re wrong because I so want this couple to stick around…and not just because I enjoy looking at Tristan
Vogue, when I first mentioned her, it was only after I spent an hour rocking myself in the corner and going, “No, please no!” But man, have I done a 180! I like to think her loyal fans will keep her around, and I know there are plenty of folks who want to keep Tristan around for longer than a week or two. They’ve worked hard, not just at dancing, but at working the PR machine. They’ve done the talk-show circuit well, showing up on the predictable (Extra, GMA, etc.) and the less predictable (TMZ). It will all depend on their pre-dance package and how well she does. They’ll have all my votes, at least.
I absolutely love everything about this team. Thankfully, I do believe that Rob & Ron will be the first 2 to go, so that will give MacGrace a chance to worm their way into everyone’s hearts. They are both so genuine, so damn likeable … would not have thought this about Nancy Grace, not in a million years. I just love this show… keeps me humble LOL
When it’s all said and done, I think Tristan will have garnered a few fans of his own, and hopefully will be back for S14, so matter where he places this season. Of course, I would have thought the same about Damian, but he didn’t have the same effect that Tristan has had …. yes, Pamela & Damian had chemistry as well, but not nearly as infectious as MacGrace. And I can’t imagine an edit that would put these 2 in a negative light. Adore this team! If she can dance moderately well, they have a shot at making it to the top half.
I know I’m swimming against the stream here with some of these, but I think Ron & Rob (definitely), Chynna, Hope, Kristin & Elisabetta are in danger of early eliminations.
All this based on just a few interviews and sparse rehearsal videos.
And yes, of course, I’m already looking up my recipes for eat=my-words pie
So here’s my question: Do I send lots of votes Nancy’s way the first few weeks so they stay, or am I putting Derek and Ricki in jeopardy by doing that? How popular will D&R be?
Meggie, you know what I’m going to say…. MACGRACE! But then, I’m slightly biased… Truly though, vote for whoever you want. I’m probably going to throw about 90% of my votes to T&N and then a couple at some others who I find to be really good dancers, one of whom will probably be Ricki. It’s going to depend on how the judges score them too. If they’re near the top of the pack, you could probably get away with maybe a 60/40 or 70/30 split.
In the end, I think D&R will be exceedingly popular, just based on who they are. Derek has been missed and his fans will want to keep him around (*cough – my mother*) and Ricki is naturally likeable.
Of course, when it comes down to it, you can always flip a coin.

I don’t really know how much more I can explain it. Not just to Derek fans, but to Maks fans, etc.
I don’t NEED Derek to win again, although I would love it. But what I don’t want is to hear a bunch of Derek fans or Maks fans whining when one of them goes home, then find out that they were voting for Maks AND Val. Or Derek AND Tristan.
Guess I’m not a one-owner dog. While I like some couples more (a lot more sometimes) than others, I never have just one favorite. So vote-splitting isn’t a concern for me. However, if you do have a team you just can’t live without, then you’d better be monogamous, vote only for them, and be willing to throw everybody else under the bus.
