DWTS 2011 Kym Johnson Talks Of David Arquette, Agrees With Judges Critiques, and More!
Kym has a second blog up at Ok Magazine. She wrote about how proud she is of David and how he performed last night. She agreed with the judges with their critiques and how David should relax more. She also talks of Courtney Cox and Coco and how much it helped to have them at the show. Be sure to visit the link as you can see some backstage pics of them as well as what she writes about her fellow cast members.
I’m feeling really good now that last night is over, I’m so proud of David, he did great! I think he’s doing this and wanting to have fun, and it definitely means a lot of him. He’s taking this very seriously and he wants to do really well.
I think what the judges said was completely accurate, that he does have to relax a bit more. I think he puts so much pressure on himself. I know that from teaching him, he definitely puts a lot of pressure on himself so he just has to relax! I think the judges were really nice to us and really kind. I think they want to see him do really well.
Courtney Cox came over after we danced, and Coco seemed to be so proud of him and so excited! She even gave us some advice before we went out. I think it really helped him having his family in the audience.
Here the two are on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show as well. Jimmy has picked them as the couple to beat for Season 13.

Sigh… between all of the Howard Stern stuff, and seeing Paul Rubens (PeeWee Herman) last night in the front row with Courteney Cox, I can’t help but think Arquette is trying to turn Dancing with the Stars into “Perverts on Parade”… who’s next in the Arquette rooting section – Anthony Weiner?
@Sally I totally thought of you when I saw Pee Wee…
By the way, Dave was apparently on Stern again this morning. Can’t wait to hear what he said this time…
RJ –
When I started calling Arquette “Peewee Herman” here on PureDWTS, I promise – I had NO IDEA they were friends…
But like I’ve said before, you’re known by the friends you keep…
Sally, you must have had a premonition or in this case a pervmonition.
By the way, have you heard David’s latest interview on Howard Stern? I’d post a link but I don’t want to get in trouble. Plus it’s pretty x-rated. David talks about his best friend Pee Wee being in the audience and you can imagine where Howard went.. Also, of course they had to talk about Kym a little more and I can’t even repeat what David said he was going to do… Disgusting.
@RJ No, I haven’t heard it. Can you send me the link? I’m on twitter – sally_braden.
Sally I half use my twitter for work so I don’t want to post something like that… Go to youtube and search “Whitney Cummings Stern 9 21 11 p4.” David calls in about a minute into the call. Pay attention to what David says he’s going to whip out on DWTS at 1:40 in response to HS tellling him he should be more like himself on the show. That may be one of his classiest statements yet [insert sarcastic tone]. Then at 4:50 he laughs at an inappropriate time given what’s being said. He really needs to control that laugh. Kym must have the patience of a saint because within 30 minutes of him talking about his themes and that laugh my theme would be screaming.
I think David is quite charming in a round about way, and I could see how he could become a fan favorite. As much as I hate HS and PeeWee Herman and everything they stand for. I refuse to let those two losers interfere with my joy of this show.
I like David and I plan on it staying that way. Thats the joy of this show someone captivates you on premiere night and you embark of their journey. I personally can’t wait until next week.
RJ – Thanks for the search terms. After listening, to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. Arquette stood up for Kym; said some very nice things, and didn’t let it get out of control. Good for him.
Sandy – ITA with you when you said “Thats the joy of this show someone captivates you on premiere night and you embark of their journey. I personally can’t wait until next week.” I can’t wait either. Looks like the only thing we might disagree on is *who* captivated us, and why.
JR, Ricki, and Nancy for the final 3, and JR for the WIN!!!!!!!!!!
@Sally – Your right, JR is my No. 1 favorite and I have a feeling he can pull it off. Karina is so talented and super gorgeous this season and I truly dont think anyone else will come close. jmo, of course.
As far as David, I don’t know, I am still on the fence about him. But just based on premiere night only. I can’t help but want to see more of him and keep David and Kym on my favorites list. And I agree with the *who*, we are all somewhat different on that one. I love Nancy as well.
Sandy – apparently, we’re close on who the favorites are. I’m just concerned that, where Arquette is concerned, the leopard hasn’t changed his spots yet… but, I guess we’ll see!
Sally – no it wasn’t as bad as before, but suggesting that one should whip one’s privates out sounds pretty bad. Do you think maybe David and Pee Wee are twins that were possibly separated at birth?
Sandy, I wish that I could let things go and be as open-minded as you so that I could enjoy the show. David certainly seems like he would still be a guy that would be the life of the party. However, I’ve been at a few things where I’ve met and talked with Kym. She’s a genuinely kind person. Therefore when David went on Howard Stern knowing full well that she would be talked about with that level of disrespect it ticked me off. There isn’t any occasion where talking about someone like that, especially someone as nice as Kym, is alright with me. So personally, I am going to hold his behavior against him despite how well he does on the dancefloor.
JR is certainly admirable and he can dance. I can’t wait to see what he will do in the faster dances. I love the banter between Nancy and Tristan. I do think Nancy means well despite her tactics and if she sticks around for a while she may get to show a different side of herself. I love Carson’s attitude and he’s hilarious, but I doubt he’ll make it to the end. It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds.
RJ, you make great points. I’m right there with you – when I heard the first interview, I concluded that I couldn’t vote for the guy, no matter what. A co-worker said something along the lines of “How would Arquette feel if, some day in the future, he hears two guys talking on the radio like that about his daughter Coco?” Indeed. How is it that the father of a little girl can make comments like that about women?
And RJ, if Arquette were to “whip it out”, wouldn’t that be the quintessential “Peewee moment”???
Makes your case for twins separated at birth.
