DWTS Tristan MacManus On Nancy Grace: She’s a dancer now and plans to treat her that way! (Video)
Need a little MacGrace for your TGIF? Below are the two on Good Morning America today. They review the “evidence” of Nancy’s wardrobe malfunction and her denying it on Access Hollywood. That’s her story and she’s sticking to it (LOL!). Tristan talks of his delight of getting an “8″ and hopes it’s the first of many. They are working long hours and having fun. The whole experience is like nothing Nancy ever expected. She’s so thankful for Tristan, but, she talks of the “grunt” level going up in their practices. Tristan comments that “she’s a dancer now and plans to treat her that way”. Fun interview as always with these two!
Be sure to watch Nancy’s show tonight. Both Tristan and Val are suppose to be a couple of her guests.
Adding: And here they are practicing for the SLOW WALTZ. Their song this week is “Moon River”. Looking good, Guys!!

I always need some MacGrace for my TGIF. And, shockingly, I was actually up for their GMA interview this morning. I’m usually not, so watching it “live” was great! (As an aside, does anyone else really want Robin Roberts to do DWTS or is it just me?)
Anywho, I just love these two together. Such great camaraderie, yet respect for one another. You’ve got to know that Tristan is probably tired of talking about the “nip slip,” but God love him, he just sits there and nods…bless him.
So glad to see they are still having fun together!!!
I have such a dilemma! Usually I only have maybe two favorites. But this year I have three or four contestants that I am enjoying enormously….. I don’t like to split my votes. But Tristan and Nancy have to get a few each week, they are just too dang adorable together and I want to see how far they can go.
Could Tristan be any more precious…. Wowza!
I totally agree with # Sandy and # Magnolia. Find Tristan & Nancy delightful and look forward to her improving every week so I can see and hear more of him. And I will admit throwing most of my votes their way with a few for Carson as I figure my splitting my votes between Maks & Derek ( I know I should choose one or the other but….) would cancel out.
IMHO Tristan is the most exciting new pro I’ve seen in the last few years. I like Val and can see great possibilities but prefer Tristan. Might be that an Irish accent trumps a Russian one?
Well, Tristan is just cute. Not sure about his dancing, since he’s with Nancy. While they are so cute and charming, I’m not seeing stellar dancing out of her. But, as you know, that often doesn’t matter.
According to DWTSGossip Nancy and Tristan have the Vienesse Waltz next week. There are five different dances, Samba, Rumba, Foxtrot, and Tango, along with the Vienesse Waltz. Should be an interesting night.
Nancy herself said she had the V. Waltz Wed. night. And add one more dance to that list. Maks and Hope have the Cha Cha.
Hold up! Nancy just announced on her show that she and Tristan have the SLOW WALTZ this week.
Well, slow waltz or v waltz, I’m just grateful it’s not rumba since Nancy said her “most memorable year” was the birth of the twins. How in heck is Tristan supposed to choreo any kind of dance that’s about Nancy becoming a mommy? Now if this was about making babies, there are all kinds of dances that would work  but having babies???
Cidra, when I heard that’s what her story was, I immediately thought of the paso doble…Hahahahahaha!!!!
Anyway, their song is “Moon River,” which I love. I hope this will be another week of improving for them.
“Paso Doble”…ROFL…very clever, Magnolia! Oh, I love “Moon River” too. What do you see costume wise? I’m hoping for something soft and flowy and modest for Nancy and maybe a little less formal for Tristan. No, I’m not asking for an open shirt, but maybe no tie and just the top button undone?
Heidi (Comment #4), It’s obvious I’ve fallen hard for Tristan. However, I agree with you that we haven’t been able to thoroughly evaluate his skills as a dancer, teacher, or choreographer because Nancy doesn’t have the most robust dancing talent. On the other hand, he’s very likable, seems to have tremendous patience, and has developed good chemistry with someone who could (potentially) be difficult to get along with. That’s one reason I’d like to see him get DAD, stay on a while this season, and get picked up next season and paired with a different body-type. That last is not a knock against Nancy because I think she’s helped him gain visibility that he wouldn’t have gotten with, say, Elisabetta or Kristin.
I really, really think that Tristan and Val are going to be talking Derek and Maks spots – if not next season, eventually. A large number of Derek fans seem to be in denial about him not always being there, but I don’t honestly see how he can do all he says he wants to do AND do DWTS. So, I wouldn’t worry about Tristan. I’ll even vote for him if Derek’s not on the show – but not before.
Heidi, Thanks for the reassurance. I hope that’s what the producers have in mind. It makes sense and Tristan and Val have potential. Derek’s and Maks’s fans have to accept that, as much as we love them, these guys have other things they want to do. When they decide to move on, we need to be happy for them, wish them well, and not let them see us crying.
At some point, I think the pro gets to be too big for DWTS. I’ve been hearing really good things about Derek’s movie, and Maks (and Cheryl too for that matter) is an entrepreneur with studios all over the place. Both activities require a lot of work. Now, Maks benefits tremendously from being on DWTS, whereas Derek doesn’t as much, but Maks has been sounding like he’s tired of the process. If that’s the case, he should sit out. Frankly, I think Mark needs a break too. There should be room for Tristan and Val. If not immediately, the sooner rather than later.
So glad you’re hearing good things about Derek’s movie! Any idea when it might come to the big screen?
Mark definitely needs a break, but he probably needs to stay on the show to keep his name out there to further his music aspirations.
Do you suppose Maks was planning to sit out the season and let Val establish himself using Maks fans as an ready-made voting base? Then the whole Hope thing took off and they both ended up on the show. It’s true, the Chmerkovskiy dance business gets a big boost from having Maks on the show, but Val could serve the same purpose if he can make it on DWTS.
I bet Cheryl wishes she was sitting out the season instead of babysitting the Kardashian spawn.
